I have been here before the food is ok I think sometimes a little on the pricey side unless you get there special went by there today to pick up some dinner as I was in a hurry note there were five cars in the parking lot and there were four cars in the drive thru I walk inside and waited at the counter 410 minutes not a single person walked up to me said I’ll be right with you wave from me back at the kitchen to say sorry we’re in a hurry instead I had four women look at me while they’re back in the kitchen go back to making their food and ignored me I walked out the hell with this place I could have stolen whatever they had to steal in the front and they would not even have known it absolutely terrible customer service I thought this place had something going for it but after service like this I can definitely see I need to find another place to go

Bland, horrible food. How you mess up a taco, I don’t know but they succeeded. Will never return. It’s always empty for a reason

Cinco Limones is one of our go to week day lunch places. We only get 40 minutes for lunch so quick service is a necessity. We’ve never been disappointed, either in the service or the food. Over the last 6 months, my colleagues and I have tried a wide variety of menu items. The burritos are large and filled with meat instead of fillers like rice. Tacos are delicious as are the salads. One friend swears by the chipotle tacos. They are yummy! Mind the qesadillas, they’re huge! Also of note is the salsa bar. Pico de gallo, green, hot and mild salas are available. The restaurant is clean and the bathrooms are tidy. Occasionally, seating is tight, but is a testament to the popularity of this restaurant. I thought I heard that the name might change, but the location isn’t. East Bakersfield has a lot of Mexican eating options. Cinco Limones is the top of my list!

Just tried the place for the first time, and the husband and I really liked it! He got the carne asada super nachos, I got the chicken burrito. Both items were a large portion, and really good. The restaurant was super clean, staff was nice! I will be returning for sure!

This is probably the ONLY restaurant in bakersfield that gets my five stars. La villa, Taco Loco and any other mex food places visit Cinco Limones so that you may learn a couple things ! Customer Service, Cleanliness and Good Food! They also have a reward system in place; for x amount of visits you get 50% off! The first mex place in bakes to do this; the owners thought out of the box. The employees welcome their customers, tables are cleaned right away and food is great. I can walk into plenty of mex food places in bakersfield and identify violations with ease! All it takes for OSHA is to test the correct areas for bacteria /virus presence. Cinco Limones Great Job Great Business Model!

No fresh flavor here. After working out a couple of friends and I decided to stop by for a late dinner. A friend of mine recommended to try the fish tacos. I order the fish taco plate and was extremely disappointed. Fish tasted like if it was store bought and the beans lack real flavor. Not for me.

While I agree with other reviewers that there is an abundance of Mexican food restaurants on the east side of town, Cinco Limones has become our go-to restaurant. It has never been overly busy when we go here, which is nice. The staff is very friendly, the food is good and not to expensive, and my kids love it. Not much more you could ask for.

Lots of Mexican food in this part of town. This place has friendly counter people and a quick drive thru that kind of sets it apart. The daily special is the best thing I’ve had. Good flavor and a good value. I am also partial to the super nachos. I had the enchilada plate once but was disappointed in the portion size. The flavor was okay, nothing special. At the drive up at least the only burrito listed is a bean burrito for almost $ 4. Only slightly better than Del Taco’s bean and cheese for $ 1. I was surprised that there was no wet burrito or mega burrito listed. Then I saw a seafood burrito on the menu for almost $ 8. Another review compared this place to Taco Fresco downtown. They has a much more extensive menu. The food cost for most mexican food is not that high. No need to be stingy. That all said I will definitely be back many many time.

«Another Taco shop in East Bakersfield?» I mentally complained to myself. I love me some tacos, but Bakersfield is saturated with them. So, what does Cinco Limones do differently? Everything! First off, the place is immaculate. Outside, the parking lot was trash free, the flower beds tended to, and yes — there was even a lemon tree or three. Inside, was equally nice. Everything was super clean. And if it wasn’t, there was an employee there to clean it up. Every table vacated by a patron was immediately cleaned off with a clean rag and sanitizing solution. Seriously! When we approached the registers we noticed the bright colorful photos that went with the combo numbers. We were quickly greeted by a friendly employee that was washing down all the trays.(Do these people ever stop cleaning?) We found over selves panic ordering. It happens with tacos. Your eyes are bigger than your stomach and in a matter of moments you realize the entire menu is on your receipt Chipotle chicken tacos, chile verde tacos, carne asada tacos, and carnitas tacos donned our table for two. It was a feast for at least four. The tacos had double tortillas, a simple but great solution to the overflowing filling inside. The salsa bar had some great options, and although the hot salsa wasn’t really that hot, it had a great flavor(smokey and peppery). The Chipotle sauce on the chicken tacos were fabulous. And they weren’t skimpy, either. The beans and rice were okay. Nothing to write home about. The fountain horchata was magnificent. Although, I’m not a big fan this was really a treat to see. The price is definitely higher than your typical taco truck. But the friendly and efficient service coupled with a super clean restaurant makes this an East side destination for sure.

Tiny Tiny Tacos. Meat slightly dry. Not too much flavor. But Salsa is dynamite. Thus 3 stars review. Scratch salsa then two stars. Compartively Taste and Portions sizes… Carniceria El Amigazo on Fairfax would be a 10 stars. No Al Pastor here at Cinco L. Not really coming back. Have much better places to Delish Mex Foods. But their $ 2.99 special would feed small kids cheaply. Did’nt really finish my two tiny tacos. But I took 4 small containers Salsa home. Hey. I like two types Salsas here. Seriously taco meats here two stars is GENEROUS. You know. Bet you can chopp shoe leather, put on their tiny meh tortillas, add their great Salsas and it would taste great. Update. Compared Cinco L salsas with Los Tacos salsas on Wible. Cinco L salsas is more sprite. Los Tacos salsas is very rich and deep… so wonderful. Carniceria El Amigazo salsa just heavenly. Expecially their homemade orange Habanero salsa. Sorry to say Cinco L will not be revisited. I agree with the three stars Unilocalers But Unilocal Peoples is about Foodie Exploring. Of Bakersfield literally hundreds businesses serving Tacos… theres only about 1 – 2 places given Total 5 stars by Unilocal’Rs. I ate there(receint, 5 Total Unilocal stars) and its a Serious Delish great meat portions Tacos. All Bakersfield tacos should strive for such levels. Which I too gave 5 stars in my Unilocal review

In a town where finding a good Mexican food place is not hard to do, being an exceptionally good one is hard. Cinco Limones is one that stands out! I had some of the best nachos I had ever had! The chips were crisp and fresh, the meat had good flavor, and all of the toppings were plentiful. The chili verde burrito and carne asada tacos were good as well. The drive thru makes to-go ordering convenient and the wait wasn’t very long. The location and getting to the drive thru can be a little inconvenient. I am glad we found this place. It makes for an easy dinner on days I don’t want to cook, but don’t want chain fast food.

Tried Cinco Limones today, and enjoyed my food very much. I had a chicken wet burrito combo, which comes with a drink. Also tried the flan. The burrito was flavorful, the chicken was really savory and grilled, and the beans and rice were spiced perfectly. Loved the little touch of sour cream and guacamole. The flan was just right. Not too thick, not too thin. The lemonade was good, and complimented the burrito. Price was very reasonable, service was very fast. I went through the drive through, but there is seating. The interior look bright and fresh. I’ll be back.

Stopped by this new restaurant in Bakersfield. I’ve heard so many great things about it, so I had to try it. I ordered the #11 quesadilla meal with chicken which was bigger than I expected. The flavors of the chicken were amazing. The rice was moist and tasty. As far as the facility, it was clean and inviting. The floors and table tops were spotless and works made two passes while I was eating just to make sure the place was clean. They also play great music in the dining room. I will definitely be back.

I ordered the super nachos with carne Asada. Unbelievable. Nachos were fresh. Pico de gallo was super fresh, generous amount of carne asada, guacamole, and sour cream. The carne was tender and delicious! I also ordered the chipotle ranch chicken tacos. The chicken was all white meat perfectly marinated and tender. The taco toppings were super fresh. Tomatoes and shredded cabbage looked picturesque and tasted even better. This place really goes all out in terms of fresh and quality ingredients. Way fresher than Baja Fresh or any other Mexican food I’ve ever had. Also… The place is super clean… EVERYTHING… The salad bar, dinning area, floors… I’ve never seen a local fast-casual place this clean. If you want amazing quality and fresh ingredients in a super clean setting(and who wouldn’t?) look no further! I only wish it was closer to the west side of town but anytime I am in the area I will plan on eating there!

The building has been updated since it was a KFC before. The food was tasty(we ordered the grilled chicken taco plate with beans, rice and a drink for $ 4.99) and reasonably priced. My only complaints are that the parking lot is odd as is the drive thru. The food was worth those relatively minor issues, in my humble opinion. I know that I’ll be back here soon.

Fyi, I’m not a pro. I’m a normal guy who loves to eat. I started Unilocaling so that I may help others find delicious places to eat. Cinco Limones and El Taco Fresco are pretty much the same restaurant with different names and a few changes in menu items. If you like El Taco Fresco, you’ll definitely love this place. Why did I give Cinco Limones 5 stars compared to El Taco Fresco’s 4 stars? Cinco Limones has a nicer atmosphere. You can tell the owners of the restaurant put forth the effort to give this place a contemporary feel to it, and they succeeded. This location used to be a ghetto KFC. Now it is a modern looking and cool(literally) place to eat some delicious Mexican food. I think the ambiance created here, is the new direction in Mexican fast food. There are too many Mexican fast food places that look like old prison cafeterias(Ahem, La Villa). Cinco Limones won’t accept that norm and I commend the owners for raising the bar. The only problem I have with this location is that it’s on the the other side of town from me. However, the food will definitely have me making the trip a few times a month. To elaborate on the restaurant’s make up, they have a very clean dining room. The tables and chairs all compliment each other and the white walls give a refreshing feel to the place. The art on the walls makes you«feel» the freshness of the ingredients used in the food here. They had top hits playing on the radio, which to me was quite refreshing. I understand you’re a Mexican fast food place, but sometimes we get tired of the corridos. Lol. The smell is something else. Yes, you can go up to any other Mexican fast food or sit down restaurant and smell the food. You’ll smell the greasy grill, the dirty oil being used, etc. The smell here is different. When I opened my door to my car in the parking lot and stepped out, I was greeted with a fresh smell. It smelled like my own grill being fired up with carne asada in my own backyard. On to what’s really important: The Food! My brother and I had come here in the morning and we were craving some breakfast. I ordered the Chilaquiles and my brother ordered the Chorizo and Eggs plate. The chilaquiles plate normally includes chips doused in their salsa along with some cheese and rice and beans. This plate will run you about $ 5. I think it’s a little pricey, but I guess the price has to represent the quality of service and food(comparing to places like La Villa). I added carne asada and eggs, and that completed the plate. In total my plate came out to around $ 8. When you think about it, the price isn’t too bad for the following reasons: This plate was delicious! You could taste the freshness in the meat, and it was not fatty. The carne asada tasted just like the smell I was greeted with in the parking lot. Fresh and flavorful! The chips were crunchy and not overwhelmed by the salsa. I would say the quality of food is up there with a sit down restaurant, but about $ 2-$ 3 cheaper than you would normally pay at a sit down. So, to me it was definitely worth it. My brother’s plate was just as delicious. The eggs to chorizo portion ratio was on point. There are times where some restaurants will overwhelm the plate with too much chorizo. Some people like that, but I prefer to have an even portion of eggs and chorizo so you have a balance of texture and flavor. Cinco Limones feels the same way I do. The chorizo was also very flavorful without the runny fat other chorizo plates normally have. The flour tortillas were also perfect on the side. The rice and beans on both plates were average. They(El Taco Fresco included) have improved on this part of their plates; however, I think a slightly bigger portion of rice and beans will do the trick in justifying the price as it will fill people a bit more. The main entrees will take care of the flavor satisfaction. I know this place just opened so they are still working out the kinks with cashiers, orders, etc. I’d like to say that I had no problems when I was there other than the cashier was a bit slow. I’m sure management is aware and they are doing what they can to fix their problems. My order came out in under 10 minutes so I was pleased with that. I think Cinco Limones made a bold move in going contemporary. I like the idea. I hope others find that to be appealing as well. The food is delicious. I think the atmosphere just adds to the experience. If you have any doubts, I recommend you try it for yourself. Yes, the price is a bit more, but I think it’s worth it. If you want a cheaper meal, you’ll probably have to deal with bums outside the restaurant, flies, dirty dining areas, etc. I’ve had quite the number of experiences with situations including all of the above. I don’t think I’ll experience something like that here at Cinco Limones, and for that I’ll gladly pay another dollar.

I had a chance to visit Cinco Limones Mexican Grill… this restaurant is a great new addition to NE Bakersfield(nestled next to Rosa’s Italian restaurants). Since their menu is budget friendly, Cinco Limones will be a godsend to the Bakersfield College crowd and those who want to get their money’s worth. Well seasoned food, friendly staff, a menu that gives plenty of options — that’s a recipe for success.
