Mesa Mexican Grill

This is honestly the worst! Food is terrible and service is AWFUL. Oh, and don’t get me started on the douche bag management. Save your time and money. Don’t eat at this crappie place.

Mesa Mexican Grill is serving up delicious Chipotle style Mexican food up on the east side. I like the interior of this place and the design. It’s always clean. They serve alcohol plus their chicken bowls and tacos are yum! Their food is has a homemade taste to it. Workers are nice and will add anything on the line to your dish of you just ask them. They have a good salsa bar and crunchy chips! What’s not to like?!

I am now convinced there is no better burrito in town. I’ve been to Mesa on countless occasions and today was my most recent visit. Having not been here due to competition prep for bodybuilding, I had missed this place dearly. Finally, the day came and we were finally able to stop in for my all time favorite, the quesarito! Although they were doing some renovating our orders came out hot and ready in a timely manner. The quesarito was better than ever and the staff was helpful and friendly as always. This place is the best. You want a great burrito, GO TO MESA!!! Also! Check in and get some chips. Always warm and add that green sauce! Delicious.

Mesa is in my general neighborhood, so I have meant to give it a try. However, there a proliferation of Mexican food restaurant in Bakersfield. So, I visit Mesa with the thought, what do they have to offer that is new and different. The food and atmosphere are Americanized Mexican. I found the food acceptable but not exceptional. I enjoy the light lunch crowd, but it is light because Mesa offers nothing new and different in a gutted marketplace.

The food was Ok, nothing impressive especially because it was priced way too high. I will only go again if a friend wants to grab a bite to eat, other then that there is lots of better places near by.

Mesa is always an excellent choice when I want something fast, fresh, and delicious. They have fast and friendly customer service. The place is always clean. There is hardly ever a wait. However, when I received my chips and salsa today along with my burrito bowl to go, I noticed some of the chips were stale. Otherwise I would have given you 5 stars. I love you guys, just letting you know! :)

Nice place, good and quite during lunch. It’s like a Chiptole but way more authentic. Great burritos that are hands down … pun intended… better than chipotle. Nice staff but the horchata was from powder and not real. The worker told me and made is award face. Somewhat funny, but with food like this… it should have been real horachata.

My wife and I have been coming here since they first opened. The food and service was initially good but as time has progressed its dropped. The last couple times were bad. Beans tasted like a container of salt was dumped in the pot.
Came back for one last try and service/​food was just as bad. Tonight the beans had so much black pepper it was ridiculous. Is it that hard to stick to a recipe? Is someone intentionally sabotaging the food?
It will be a long time, if ever, before we return. Too many better places to visit to come here.

Better service better everything! Can’t wait to come back now i have to devour my burrito

Fresh made to order assembly line type food where I choose what goes in my bowl as it’s being made. The vegetarian bowl comes with guacamole, grilled onions, grilled mushrooms and jalapenos. All this for $ 6.99. Ingredients are fresh.

Second time coming here, I never judge off the first experience. The taste is barely ok, no where near Chipotle for this style of food. In fact the steak double stuff from Taco Bell taste better than this place. A minor pet peeve of mine is mixing ingredients. The servers were so sloppy they had Mexican rice in the white, retried beans in the black and so on. It’s a minor issue but not to the lady who hates pinto beans but got some in her burrito cause the lady was lazy. I won’t be coming back.

We ended up at Mesa because our normal Mexican food fast food place is temporarily closed. What better time to try out a new place then this, right? First off, Mesa is kind of like Chiptole. You only have a few options (burrito, taco, quesadilla, nachos, bowls, and a quesarido (sp?). You basically build these with you choice of meat, beans, rice, and toppings. When I first entered, I wasn’t greeted at all. I walked up to the counter and said «Hi». The lady behind the counter starred and me for a few seconds and then says «how can I help you» straight faced. In any of the interactions I had with her did she smile and at all seem friendly. When she did talk to me, it was the bare minimum. We ordered two burritos, nachos, two quesadillas, and a quesarido. We also took advantage of the Unilocal check in and got the chips and salsa. Overall, the food was good. The nachos were the best thing we ordered. The quesadillas and burritos were a little dry. We got the steak on most of our items; it really didn’t have much flavor. The Spanish rice was a little salty and dry. The toppings were fresh and it was nice to not have the food dripping with grease.

Has kind of a chipotle feel with a little more variety to choose from. The food is fresh which is key to a good dinner. You may not realize it’s there because it’s kind of hidden from the Main Street but it’s definitely one to keep your eye out for if you want a good taco.

I love this place and only wish there was one more towards Rosedale. I love their nachos and the wide variety of toppings. For $ 9.55 I get fully loaded nachos and a drink. It’s filling and soooo delicious!

This was our first visit, and it’s a great addition to the NorthEast side of town. They were very friendly, it was clean, and there were a scattering of people eating in. We ordered online, and it was being made as I walked in (I was about 5 min early).
Nachos — Ground Beef, refried beans and assorted toppings, were great but the chips don’t hold up to the toppings, so grab a fork! Huge!
Bowl — Grilled steak — the bowl seemed small for the price (compared to Chipolte)…But again it was very good. I saw a burritto being made right in front of me, and the bowl is suppose to be that without the tortilla, but it was lacking in size!
Tacos — Shredded Beef — excellent!
We will be back for sure!

Would pick this place over Chipotle any day of the week. This is my go to place to eat! Not super crowded, fast, and has some more options like crumbled bacon, grilled mushrooms, etc. Their nachos are for sharing. I can feed 4 of us with an order of nachos and a bowl which makes it very affordable! My daughter says best refried beans she has ever had!

This place is good however I would not go out of my way again to eat here.
It’s a mix of Chipotle and Baja Fresh.
Food was warm plenty of seats and it was clean.
Very family friendly.

The go to spot healthier then tacobell grilled chicken burrito bowl !!! I can eat here everyday !! Fast and friendly !! Good prices as well
