Food is ok but salsa is over blended. Unfriendly employees that do not know what a smile is or eye contact. They give you an order number to leave at the table, but fail to bring your food to the table. Chef is at the cutting board slamming the butcher knife into the meat making it hard to hear the cashier. Food on the floor, and it appears to not have been mopped all week. Restrooms are ok. I do not recommend.

A drive through this location is like working with Forrest Gump, ya never know what you’re gonna get. Asked for 22 piece meals, salads as the side with no fresh cilantro and 2 small drinks. We got 23 piece meals, salad with no dressing and 2 large drinks. No clue as to what we paid for since they didn’t give us a receipt. Not sure of the English abilities of the drive thru worker but clearly they were minimal at best. This location can put out good food but today they weren’t trying very hard as my chicken was dry. It just doesn’t pay to drive thru at this location.

I love this place because they serve freshly grilled chicken all the time and the flavor is always good. Never had a bad meal here. The place is always clean and staff are always pleasant. Since this is a few minutes from where I work, it is one of the lunch places that I go to. One more thing that I love here is their low calorie meal options. The calories are actually written in their menu so you are aware of what you are ordering. Lastly, the price for their meals is very affordable. If you are planning to visit this place, it is in the East side of town and is located on Mt. Vernon in the same shopping center as Panda Express. This place gets really crowded during lunch hour so expect heavy traffic during that time.

I’ve never had an issue with this location and the staff is always friends friendly. Try to avoid the obvious lunch rush and you should get your food in a timely manner. Love all the burritos! So delicious!

This location is a hit or miss. The food is decent. You get what you pay for. The service is okay at best. Some staff members are plain rude. Website stated drive-thru service closed at 10PM. Went by around 9:30 and was told through drive-speaker that they were now closed. I replied that the website stated they are still open. Staff member kept repeating that they are closed and cannot do anything about it. They should really adhere to their website hours of operation.

I usually would never give a fast food restaurant four stars but because it was so clean I feel it deserves it. I got a chicken polo bowl and the only thing I can say negative is that there wasn’t a lot of chicken. The staff was friendly which I appreciate. Especially being a fast food restaurant. All in all it was a decent experience. I’ll be back again.

Pretty decent food for the money… I prefer the drive threw at this location… It can be rather noisy and loud inside this place at times depending on the clientele…(There tends to be a lot of unsupervised children in this store when I go, always messing with the«Salsa Bar» and running up and down the isles while their parents prattle on in Spanish)… I do enjoy their«Salsa Bar» when it has not be ransacked by unsupervised children(As Mentioned Earlier), they have a nice selection of Salsa, Onions, Cilantro, Lemons, Limes and various other goodies to add onto your meal… But like I said earlier, it’s usually totally destroyed… I tend to go for the Mexican Rice Bowls… Chicken, Beans, Rice and various other offerings similar to a «Asian Rice Bowl», but with a Mexican flair… The Girlfriend likes the Chicken Quesadilla or Pollo Tacos…(I have tried both several times, they are also quite good)… The service is decent… As you walk in you can not only smell the Chicken cooking but also see it, so you know that everything is pretty much made to order and not too pre-made… All and all I enjoy this places food… I just wish that they would maintain a sense of order a little more in their dining area… If your going to try this restaurant, probably best if you use the drive threw…

The food can be 4 stars, but today the drive thru service was terrible. The bell at the church was goin off and I asked for her to wait during the ordering process because. Couldn’t hear me properly, then I get to the window. She has an attitude because she has to get a manager card to t off a large coke that I ordered because I wanted Pepsi and at the speaker I specifically said I didn’t want the coke just the sprite and had facial expressions as if I was lowing because she had her head somewhere it shouldn’t have been I’m not sure her name but she was severely obese and will not come to this location again, management needs to weed out the bad attitudes and lazy workers there are people that are friendly that need jobs

This location ALWAYS gets the order wrong. Today my burrito was not only wrong but already cold. I’ll go to another location from now on.

What makes this location different from the other branches in Bakersfield? There is also a Fosters Freeze here. I have never ordered any thing from the Fosters Freeze menu though. El Pollo Loco can usually be counted on to provide a good meal. Lately though, their chicken has not tasted as good. I’ve noticed that in this location and the branches on Coffee Rd. and Stockdale Hwy respectively. Still, for the price… the food is still okay. If you use one of their coupons which can be found in the mail, then there is more money to be saved. I’ll continue to frequent this branch from time to time, but I would not go out of my way to find it.

I just had my daughters high school graduation party catered by them. It cost less than I expected, I had twice as much food as I needed, it arrived at my door hot and on time. They provided salsa, guac and salad dressing free. They also provided plates and plastic ware(which we did not need) including serving spoons and tongs. The delivery was cheap(only $ 5) and the food was excellent! We ordered burritos, tacos, taquitos and salad. They will be catering my next event and I cannot rave about them enough! They made my party. I’m eating leftovers for dinner tonight and its delicious.

El Pollo Loco is one of my favorite places for a quick meal. The food taste fresh and they have many healthier choices. The service at the site near Mt Vernon is usually great.

El Pollo Loco is known for its flame grilled chicken marinated with a light citrusy flavored sauce. This particular El Pollo Loco location also sells Foster Freeze products, so you can get soft serve ice cream, with or without a chocolate dipped shell, and sundaes. They have a self serve salsa bar with four different salsas, jalapenos, diced onions, cilantro, and lemon wedges. On this visit, I decided to try one of their new tostada salads — the avocado bacon flavor. There were several slices of fresh avocado on top and plenty of crispy crunchy bacon as well as fame grilled chicken, crisp lettuce, and beans. I ditched the deep fried flour tortilla shell(I have better places to use those calories — like dessert) and covered it liberally with the pico de gallo and avocado salsa. I didn’t use the creamy cilantro salad dressing that came with it; I didn’t feel like it needed anything else. I really liked it. My mom ordered her favorite, the pollo bowl with extra rice instead of the beans. One thing that I’ve always wondered: they carry both Minute Maid lemonade and Minute Made light lemonade. Have you ever read the information on the soda fountain? The regular lemonade contains 0% juice, yet the light lemonade contains 3% juice. WTH? My advice? Get the light lemonade and squeeze lemon wedges from the salsa bar into it. Mmmmm… and you can refill your drink as many times as you like! I ordered a vanilla soft serve cone dipped in chocolate for dessert. In the picture on the menu is looks like the chocolate dip is pretty thick. In reality, though, the dip was very thin, almost transparent and there were little holes in the coating that the ice cream kept melting through. Don’t be so stingy with the chocolate coating, people! I’m still a fan, though. If you’re looking for a healthier fast food option on the Eastside, this beats the run of the mill burger joints by a mile!

Pretty standard — usually fast service and decent, fresh food. I usally get a pollo bowl or a few cheap chicken tacos. The lobby is always dirty but worth the drive-thru because they also serve Fosters Freeze Milkshakes.
