What’s the first thing a teacher wants to do when school let’s out for winter break? Be pampered, of course, and Darling Nails is the place my fellow teacher and I chose to do just that yesterday. Darling Nails is located on the Northwest corner of Hageman and Verdugo, in the same center at Jacalitos and Krush. They have ten pedicure stations, five down each side of the salon, and all of them have massage chairs.(There are also 8 manicure stations, four up front and four down the middle– sorry, no massage chairs at those) Honestly, it’s worth half the price of the pedicure just to sit and enjoy the massage while they work on your feet! We were seated together and two of the women started working on us. Mine suggested that we use the controls on the massage chair to cause it to recline and REALLY enjoy the experience. I wouldn’t have believed what a difference that could make(I already had my sore and tired feet in a basin of warm water being massaged by jets and my the chair was kneading my back) but it made me feel all warm and sleepy. That may have been partly due to the fact I had only two and a half hours of sleep last night while prepping for this final day of school. Both of us chose the Deluxe Pedicure which cost $ 40 and included callous removal, salt scrub, mask, even a hot stone massage. As the water began to fill the basin both of our pedicurists asked how we liked the temperature of the water. I announced mine could be hotter and Megan announced it was a bit on the hot side. I’m pretty sure that both of our chairs were dispensing water at about the same temperature but everybody has different preferences so it was nice that we were asked about ours and they made the proper adjustments to assure each of us had the maximum enjoyment out of this experience. The pedicure was excellent, but my favorite part was at the end, when we were done. Megan had her nails finished first and her nail girl didn’t rush her out of the chair, but told her to feel free to wait till I was done. When I was done, my girl put the single use flip flops on my feet for me(so I wouldn’t mess up the polish by putting my boots back on too soon) and told me not to rush. I enjoyed the ability to spend an extra five minutes in the massage chair. We went up to the front to pay. They take credit cards in payment for the pedicure, but be aware they ask that you tip your girl in cash. This should not present a problem as they have an ATM machine inside that charges only a $ 0.50 transaction fee. Let’s be honest, it’d be worth it to come in just to use the ATM as that fee is significantly less than most other ATMs. As we paid, the lady taking our money said«Merry Christmas» and gave us each a little gift, I think it holds a pumice, a buffer, and a little lotion. It was the finishing touch on a lovely pampering experience. Oh, we’ll be back. Count on it.

Impressed again! I haven’t been in a while but Don did a wonderful job on my nails and was more than happy to do the design I showed him off of my phone. He was friendly and very precise in his work. He asked me to double check his work and let him know if anything needed fixing before he painted my nails(I got a fresh full set). They’re perfect and I’m so glad I came back after an awful experience elsewhere! I should’ve never went anywhere else! Love Darling Nails and their super efficient kind staff!

I haven’t gone for a pedi in over a year!(I know bad me) But I am so happy with my pedi. They used disposable foot scrubber/pumice rock. Which is a must! They were also very friendly and clean.

The ladies I had tonight did an amazing job tackling my less than ideal cuticles. I went in and had a full set with gelish polish put on my hands and a spa pedicure with artwork. Both came out amazing! While I was there I asked to get my eyebrows waxed and she really took the time to figure out what shape would be flattering on me. There was NO pressure to up sale on anything and they were very kind. We sat and talked about my upcoming wedding and they helped me find shades of polish that would fit the occasion. I will be back in two weeks for a fill.

Usually I go to a place down the street for pedicures but their quality seemed to be going downhill so after reading the reviews I thought I would try this place. I walked in and the manicurist in the front asked what I wanted barely looking up from the customer. After saying I just needed a pedicure, she told me they were too busy and to come back later. I have never been treated so rudely at a nail salon. There were only four customers in the salon at the time, I was stunned! Needless to say, I will never be back!!!

I love this place! I moved to another state and I look forward to this salon every time I come back to Bakersfield. If I don’t go to this one, I go to one of their other salons. Stacy and Paul have been my favorites for as long as I can remember! Stacy was the first one to do my brows when I was like 10 at the old Top Nails on olive… 13 years later, I still trust her over anyone else.

I really admire this place. Their facility is clean and their service is very enjoyable. They women are good at what they do and surprisingly the men are to. They all treat their customers with a smile. The only problem is that I find it a bit rude when the women are doing my nails and then talk in viatnamese and then giggle. It seems rude.

First time here and it was amazing. Did the $ 30 pedicure and it was 1.5 hours of foot fantasy. Leg scrub, hot stone massage, hot towel, lots of massage and the toes look great!
