Slice of Italy

Never had a bad time at Slice of Italy so far! have tried a little bit of everything I feel like lol. Combination pizza, garlic pizza, lasagna, ravioli, salad, fried chicken, potato wedges, cannoli, tiramisu. most items have been really good. the calamari could use a little improvement I feel like… small portion for the price and it wasn’t very well seasoned. also the hero sandwich was so-​so. Service has always been good when we have stayed in restaurant to eat and even when we order for pick up or delivery. ordered a cute heart shaped pizza for Valentine’s Day to be delivered home since I had to work that night and they had it there just on time and my boyfriend enjoyed it. have a couple beers on tap and definitely enjoy having a few drinks with our pizza. not sure if it’s just a seasonal thing but the last time we went in we ordered the chicharrones… SO good! but need to work on the salsa that goes along with it.

Great pizza and salad bar. Always friendly and great service! Will definitely be back!

We love pizza!!! This place has really good pizza there chicken Parmesan is my husbands favorite, my son loves the wings and potato wedges, and the other really nice thing they deliver beer! On those hot days that you just don’t want to go out.

Food is really good. But I didn’t like the baked wings prefer deep fried. Pizza is 5 stars.

They used to have the feel of a mom and pop shop, they made service personal and we’re always very courteous. Now the service is just bland, we came to eat in and didn’t know the special wasn’t dine in, we had already ordered drinks and instead of letting us drink them they poured them out, What a waste.

After several hours of interstate driving and needing something to break up the monotony, saw a huge sign «Milt’s Coffeehouse! Got off interstate immediately and pulled into an older looking restaurant. Quite frankly, I wasn’t expecting much… silly me! The menu was extensive but I settled on a bowl of Texas chili, banana cream pie and a cup of coffee! BEST FOOD EVER! Wish I could have sampled everything! The service was exceptional and the manager was so friendly! From now on, this will be a «MUST STOP» whenever I’m in the area!

Happy to say, things are looking up for these guys. Decided to give them another shot and they actually delivered it a few minutes early. The food is great as always. Glad the service has improved!

This place has very good pizza. We have tried a few different kinds and I have yet to have a bad experience. I have also frequented the one downtown, when it was Bj 5 Star. My favorite it their wedges. I am very lucky when it comes to wedges and to me they do have one of the best.
The only downside is they are kinda pricey but I rather pay $ 35 for delicious pizza and wedges than pay $ 30 for bad pizza like Pizza Hut, Rusty’s, etc.

This place is horrible. Ive ordered at least 3 times and everytime the food is horrible its super cheaply made and when its delivered the wing box is smashed and the buffalo sauce is all over the inside of the bag. EVERYTIME!!! Ive called and complained still happens. Never Again!!! They need a option for zero stars this place doesnt even deserve one!!!

I was looking to try a new pizza place in Bakersfield, when I found this place on Unilocal.I ordered online which was very easy, and decided on the pizza and chicken deal. The food came to my door on time and was hit and fresh.
Ok so the food,
First the pizza, I got a basic sausage pizza. It was fantastic, I absolutely loved the sauce which actually had a great classic Italian flavor, and the sausage was big and tasted home made. The fried chicken was a total random thing I decided to get, but I was glad I did. It was fresh and did not taste like it had been sitting under a heat lamp. The breaking was good and the chicken was moist not dried out at all. Overall I think this is my new go to for pizza or fried chicken.

Love the garlic sauce on the pizza and their ranch is amazing! I am not a fan of Bakersfield pizza, but this is probably the best one I have found so far (although my boyfriend thinks I only go here for the ranch). I have only tried the pizza, so I can’t comment on anything else, but I think the pizza is kind of expensive. I usually order delivery or pickup, and the girls up front have always been super nice when I go in.

The pizza was pretty good, the pasta with meatballs was not my thing. The customer service is decent. However idk if I would come back

When I tell you pizza is my favorite food… I mean it’s my favorite food. I ordered a simple pizza. Margherita pizza, I am just around the corner. Quick, yes. Hot, no. Quality, okay. Disappointed. Yes :/

We order take out from here all the time. It’s usually pretty fast and when it isn’t they either give you a good discount or don’t charge at all. My favorites are the healthy slice, the Greek, and the cookie pizza. The garlic Parmesan fries are so yummy!!! It always arrives hot and ready to eat.

It seems like this place doesn’t know what it is supposed to be. It seems like they’re trying really hard for ‘nice Italian spot’ but its really just a ‘Tasty pizza Joint’ which is probably better anyway.
The only thing anyone really needs to know about this place is that the pizza is pretty dang good!

This is our go-​to for pizza night. We usually order the $ 20 dollar special: One topping X-​LRG, Wedges and a 2-​liter. We have not yet been disappointed.

Our friends invited us here and it was our first time. We waited quite awhile for seating, but it didn’t seem like a long time as we were catching up with our friends.
I wasn’t in the mood for pizza, so my husband and I ordered a meatball sandwich and 3 pieces of chicken with wedges to split. We ordered our boys a small sausage pizza, their favorite!
While we waited for our food, the kids went to the game area and played, while the grownups talked. That was a definite plus for us. The kids stayed occupied.
I loved all of the food we ordered. I tried everything, including the pizza. I just didn’t care for the meatballs in the meatball sandwich.
All in all this place was pretty good. We might try it another time, but it didn’t wow me enough to say I’ll definitely be back.

Ok I’m writing my review based on my experiences with delivery, since the owner did reach out and invited us back to give them another try after our bad first experience. It’s not that we’re not going back but I wanted to re-​review them because of their awesome pizzas and other menu items.
First off this is our go to place when we order pizza. We live in the northwest part of town but I understand they have more than one location so I know if you live elsewhere you can get it their pizza too.
My favorite is their Hawaiian or vegetarian either is my favorite. The crust is always on the thinner side and the sauce and toppings go right to the edge. Always an abundance of toppings that are fresh and tasty. My husband is really not a pizza guy, I know how can this be? I could eat pizza for every meal! So I order him their meatball sub and he is always happy with it and he’s pretty picky when it comes to his meatball subs.
So if you’re looking for great pizza or subs and I know they offer white sauce too this place has off the hook pizza it is our go to place.

Came for the pizza, came back for the great pasta, appetizers, and wonderful happy staff.
The pizza was a thicker crust (like I desire) with lots of toppings. They have a very good beer selection including Firestone and for those that want to get their Italian on, Peroni.

I am so bummed to have to make this review. I have been a huge fan of Slice of Italy for a year or more. Their pizza has always been top notch, their service has always been fantastic, but lately they have really taken a nose dive. I typically won’t leave a low review on a company until I’ve had more than one bad experience, and the last three times I’ve ordered pizza from here it has been really disappointing.
My first gripe is the delivery time. I always set a time for the pizza to come that is usually well after what they offer on their website (because I’m usually working). So if the website says the pizza can be to my house within 45 minutes, I choose roughly fifteen minutes after that. If they are displaying a 45 minute wait, there is absolutely no reason why they should STILL get it to me late. Even when our pizzas have been 30 minutes or longer late, I still leave a really good tip because I understand the woes of pizza delivery. I did it as a teenager and I get it, I really do.
The second point that did it for me was the quality of the pizza. Slice of Italy has always been really on point with their ingredients. Everything always tastes fresh and flavorful. The last three pizzas have tasted like cardboard, similar to something you would get at Little Caesars. If I wanted a pizza that is similar to Little Caesars I wouldn’t spend $ 30, I would go spend $ 5.99 for a hot and ready. The bacon has been undercooked, the crust is flat and stale (we don’t order thin crust, so that’s not why), and it leaves our entire family with a messed up stomach the rest of the night. Why I have chosen to keep ordering it? Your guess is as good as mine. I was secretly hoping they were just having an off night, but this has been the past three orders.
Unfortunate to see this happen to such a great business. What’s even worse is that they seem to give the same excuse to all customers… «Sorry, it is hectic tonight». If I used that excuse for subpar service I would be fired in an instant! I get hectic, I work an extremely hectic job, but that doesn’t give anyone the excuse to slack off on their job.
We will probably get our pizza elsewhere from now on. We might try them again in a few months to see if anything has changed, and I hope it does. The family that owns the restaurant seems extremely nice. Hopefully they see these reviews and take action.
