Im from Chicago and this place is the next best thing. They nail Chicago style pizza both thin crust and deep dish. All the employees are friendly and very helpful.

This is based on the Alfredo with Italian sausage and it was absolutely delicious. My mom ordered the thin crust pizza and really liked that as well. I will definitely be coming back here.

This is as good as it gets in Bakersfield. I enjoy the deep dish… I drown it in ranch… FYI it must be eaten with a fork and knife.

OK so I was born raised a Cubs fan in the Chicago suburbs and a couple of days after moving out to Bakersfield I drove past this place and almost drove off the road. I was so excited to see all of the Chicago Cubs décor and the fact that they have Chicago-style deep dish pizza pie just like I was accustomed to getting at home from places like Giordano’s or Nancy’s. I talked to the owner he’s a pretty nice guy but has never been to Chicago. He was born a Cubs fan. I’m not going to say this place is bad, it’s actually one of the top two or three pizza places in the city of Bakersfield. The deep dish pizza is not terrible, but without exaggerating it is nowhere near what I would expect to get at home. But that being said I did enjoy it enough that I ordered it again, and again it was decent. My biggest complaint about this place is the Cubs jerseys, why on gods green earth he has the round Ron Santo Ernie Banks and Ferguson Jenkins jerseys buried by the bathroom yet has the Mark Prior Jersey front and center for everyone to see makes me want to jump off the Golden gate Bridge. Change it!

So we tried the Chicago style pizza… FINALLY! «7 days without Cubbies makes one weak» clever. :) Me and the partner ordered for it to be delivered, but let me say the pizza did not disappoint… We weren’t sure what to get exactly so I ordered the usual pepperoni and bacon. Rule of thumb… If it’s your first time let the lovely staff at Cubbies help you order. We had never ordered a Chicago style pizza before and it was this massive beast of a pizza… But it definitely lacked a few toppings. That was my fault. I ordered as if I was at any other pizza place. Cubbies clearly sits on another playing field. The sauce was flavorful and the crust was yummy! No joke, the entire pizza lasted us nearly 3 days… We kept just chipping away at the pizza until we couldn’t eat it anymore. Such a deal for what we paid. Oh! And they threw in some wedges. Killer deal for the price. Enjoy Unilocalers, it’s a little slice of Chicago in town!

Best pizza you will ever have! Must got all the way and get a deep dish. At Cubbies there is no family favorite, we have loved them all. Family friendly atmosphere for kiddos, complete with an arcade. Much more tame than your average pizza parlor. We always take friends and visitors here for an amazing experience. For us it was love at first bite.

For Bakersfield its ok. For true Chicago style pizza, not so much. Coming from somebody that’s been to Chicago many times.

Best Chicago deep dish in town. I’ve been about a dozen times now and the pizza is always consistent. My favorite is the deep dish with ham and sausage. I’ve had their hot dogs a few times, which are pretty good too but the pizza is where its at. Pro-tip: Take a look at their weekly specials. My hubby and I usually have a date night in at home and order take out on Thursdays. Cubbies is in our rotation for Thursdays because they have a special that day where you can get two 2-topping deep dish pizzas for around $ 25 which is a steal. These pizzas are huge. We always have a ton of leftovers!

Pizza doesn’t surprise me anymore. Sauce, cheese and pepperoni… same-o, same-o. But here at cubbies, the crust was crispy, the cheese was gooey, and the sauce was full of flavor. I was full with one slice, but reached for a second. Delicious!

Hands down, one of the greatest pizza you will ever try! Don’t get me wrong, I’m not trying to hype up this pizza place, but if you want what your actually paying for, this is the place to go! I highly recommend the«chicken Alfredo» has got to be the best idea for man to make into a pizza!

First time tasting a Chicago’s deep dish pizza, first time visiting Cubbies. We ordered a build your own large Chicago style deep dish and thick crust pizza, and a sandwich. The toppings we ordered were pineapple and ham. The pizza was delicious, the toppings combined well with their specialty red sauce. The sandwich ordered was combo sausage and beef, large enough to feed 2 people, and delicious. The sandwich had the right ingredients, grilled onions, sautéed bell pepper, and lots of mozzarella cheese; served with Italian dressing. The reason for a four star rating: I expected a fast service, considering the we placed the order-to-go. We visited on a Thursday, the place was empty with only a family of four enjoying a meal. They took about 15 to 25 minutes to get the order ready. 1 pizza and 1 sandwich. If possible, I would definitely recommend to call in orders or place them online.

We love Cubbies! We’ve been coming for over a year and despite trying other places, we keep coming back. The pizza quality is excellent and the wings, fries and breadsticks are equally as good. Service is friendly and it’s usually easy to get a seat. The restaurant has a small arcade and has board games for kids and as well. We love to order the deep dish pizza. It takes a little while to cook but it’s worth the wait.

Where have you been all my life deep dish pizza. Cubbies is a great choice for your Chicago style pizzas with a great Chicago themed location. I have always wanted deep dish after watching every show they have on pizza on Food Network or the Travel Channel. I have even almost ordered a deep dish online but never got that desperate. We tried this place out with some friends and they got the deep dish with the sauce on the bottom(the regular pizza way). We fell in love with their deep dish pizzas but I have still not tried their traditional style pizza with the sauce on the top. Believe me, you don’t need much to fill up on pizza here, since every slice is like eating three regular pieces of pizza. Cubbies deals are outstanding and they have a deal for every day of the week Tuesday and the weekend sprcial is easily their best deals. They have traditional style crust and even a thin crust, all cut into square pieces. I am not a fan of their regular crust since it is not bursting with flavor like their deep dish pizzas are. If you love garlic bread on the edge of deep delicious pizza smothered with love, then Cubbies is a great choice. Sorry I have slacked on the pictures, since I have had their pizza and or breadsticks about 5 times now. Next time I need to just get a couple x-larges and update everyone of their deliciousness. With their apps, I haven’t tried most of them besides the weekend special with their breadsticks. They aren’t your typical breadsticks since they are flakey, covered with a garlicyish parmesan. Just stop by and watch one of their multiple big screens and eat some outstanding deep dish, because if you don’t order the DEEPDISH then you haven’t tried the real Cubbies. Enjoy and don’t forget to post those pics.

This is by far, the best pizza place I’ve ever gone to. If you want REAL pizzas, you can’t beat a deep dish, inch thick, cheesy, gooey, yummy, massive, fresh, Cubbies pizza. My favorites are the chicken and artichoke, cowboy and the meat lover’s is just sex in a pizzabox. Don’t waste your money anywhere else.

I kept calling this place«CHUBBIES» I gotta say their season fries aren’t really unique but they do taste quite good and come fresh! As for their pizza. I really LOVED the cheeseburger one! The deep dish was spectacular(to be honest I haven’t had much to compare to besides BJs and número uno) but this was probably the best of the three! One piece of advice though, make sure to request that they don’t burn the crust. Last time we ordered 4 different minis and the ones with regular toppings came kinda dark on the crust. It made the pizza bitter and the experience not nearly as good. Thankfully they went ahead a made us a whole new one which was perfect! Overall, food and service were great. Will definitely be back if I’m ever in the area again.

Came here specifically for their deep dish pizza. Having never had deep dish before I thought this would be an interesting adventure. The most noticeable thing about the place is that it is completely decked out in all things Chicago Cubs. There were also two TVs playing sports channels. Throughout my entire visit my party was the only ones there. Since we had never been before, it took some time deciding what we wanted but eventually we decided on the Large Chi-Town Combo deep dish and their«famous» bread sticks. Their bread sticks were fluffy and that’s probably the only thing I enjoyed about them since there wasn’t much flavor to the dough. I wasn’t that impressed with the deep dish. I thought the pizza was actually going to be a little deeper and that there would be more filling; I was wrong. Majority of the pizza was dough/crust with a small amount of filling and sauce on top. I understand that the bottom layer has to be thicker to hold the filling but it was too over powering. The tomato sauce had a weird taste to it. I’m not sure if it’s the seasoning used or if I’m being crazy but it definitely tasted strange. Service was okay. The guy helping us at the container wasn’t very helpful on deciding on the pizza and just stood there as we tried to make up our minds. Also. wish he had told us about their daily specials sooner(on the side wall next to the register) cause we didn’t see them until we took our seats. Overall an okay experience, but probably wouldn’t come back for their deep dish.

We ordered a full rack of ribs to split and they were good, not great, but good and it was quite a bit of meat, it was plenty for both of us. But the size of the coleslaw that came with it which was about a half a cup. I don’t care for coleslaw so my companion had it and didn’t care for it. The french fries were the little tiny shoestrings and they were just boring. I will definitely come back to try the pizza and the pasta but probably would not order the baby back ribs again. The food is a little pricey but the pizza looked wonderful and I definitely want to try that and if it’s as good as it looks it will be worth the price. The staff was delightful. Friendly young women who were praising the food, telling us what was the best thing on the menu and just really good employees.

Likes: Nostalgic feel to the place, casual dining Clean space Girls at the cash are friendly 321 beer from Chicago available here — this is a great, light tasting beer 3 crust types available — thin, hand tossed and deep dish available A few sauces to choose from — BBQ sauce, Alfredo, red Gluten free option for those in need Toppings very fresh, cheese good Dislikes My deep dish crust was nothing special, did not taste like it had been made that morning as I was told it was I wish for the Specialty pizzas, that the cost could be a bit lower for the veggie than those loaded with meat($ 17 for a small veggie seems like a lot) I was surprised at how much pizza costs here compared to a sandwich with fries for $ 8 I wish the people at the counter told you that there were specials for the day. At least have it advertised somewhere on the board. I could have had an X-Large pizza for $ 15.99, less than what my small pizza cost! Foreign black hair on my pizza — ick — it happens but still grosses me out big time and would likely keep me from returning
