I read the reviews before I went to Hancock and thought it would be a bad experience from the negative things some people had to say and was I ever surprised! The women were sweet, courteous, helpful and efficient. The store had a LOT of fabrics to chose from and it was beautifully laid out. I figured out why the reviews were so bad. People that have great experiences rarely comment. We are content and happy and keep moving forward, but that said, I HAD to comment because the hyper negativity that seems very unwarranted just had to get some balance here. Wonderful store. Wonderful employees. I work at the post office and service is my living and believe this, these people are all service. Thank you Hancock for my beautiful whimsical fabric. I smile every time I look at my chair pads!

I’ve actually had a nice time here. Yes, the selection is small, but then again, so is the store. The women working there were pleasant and helped with choosing a fabric for an outfit I was planning on making.

Okay so I just left this store and I had to Unilocal my terrible experience! If I would of read the reviews I would of probably went back to Joann’s Fabric’s where I normally go anyway. I had to copy the review above because the same thing happened to me. I explained to the woman cutting my fabric that I wanted to use a 50% coupon because it wasn’t on sale and got extra fabric because of this… It wasn’t till I was at the register ready to pay that she told me I couldn’t use my coupon because the fabric was already on sale 30% off. The ladies working are rude and the service is terrible! The fabric I was getting wasn’t even anywhere close to a sale sign like the other fabrics, I showed them where they placed it and even after they looked there and asked the lady which I confirmed the I could use the 50% off coupon, the lady said in a rude tone«well it’s already on sale and I’m not giving it to you for 50% off!». ugh, I felt like telling her so many things but I didn’t bottom line is if you need fabric go to Joann’s avoid Hancock’s no wonder I never knew that whole in the wall place existed. If they want there little store have more business they need new staff and management!

Went to this store 5 times over a period of a week looking for upholstery fabric. I took several samples home. I paid $ 10 deposit on each sample and assumed that I would be able to order one if I found one that I liked. When I found what I wanted and went back again to order it, I was told it had been discontinued. Why have samples of fabrics that cannot be ordered? Very disappointing and a total waste of my time.

This was my first visit here and I will never come back. The customer service is TERRIBLE! I could not believe the way I was treated. They had a subpar selection of fabrics and were overpriced. I was very disappointed and hoping to find a new place to stock up on fabric.

What a disappointment! of course, this outfit does not have the nicest customer service, I have been in the stores at Springfield, MO, and Austin, TX and found the most wonderful materials and notions, lots of choices and nice set up but the sales people were always in a hurry and not that helpful, but the store in Bakersfield was the most horrendous place I have ever visited: the selection was low quality, scarce, old and reminded me of a garage sale. When I asked for help I got a person that looked stressed to the max, rude, and in a big hurry. My advice, do not ever set foot on this place. I used to wonder why the Hancock stores were closing; wonder no more
