We love this Dr! First visit, I thought I would not like it here because it was really busy and crowded. It turns out that it was just an unusually busy day there. Dr. Lavadia is a very knowledgeable pediatrician and seems to get it right every time. She is cool headed and really takes the time to explain things. She loves the kids and has plenty of hugs for them. She even gives out sugar free lollipops after the Doctor’s visit. As parents, we hate seeing our kids feeling sick or being injured. We want a Dr. who can be compassionate and caring. Dr. Lavadia is certainly compassionate and caring. She really wants your child to feel better as much as you do. This seems to be a trait that many Pediatricians are missing in these days of defensive, profit driven medicine. Dr. Lavadia is old school and really cares. My daughter loves her and is always so happy to go to the office, even if she might get a shot. The office is very clean, but old. It is located on 17th Street right behind the Mercy Hospital Emergency Room. There is plenty of parking and a pharmacy in the building for convenience. Dr. Lavadia’s office is on the ground floor toward the back of the building. The office staff are really nice to parents and patients and take their time with you if you need it. Otherwise, they are totally into efficiency and getting you into the exam room. They have always worked with me to secure a same-day appointment and that says a lot about the office and doctor who runs it. I don’t give 5 stars lightly. Dr. Lavadia has earned them.

Dr. Lavadia is great! She is wonderful with my boys and doesn’t mind a little chaos, as can be typical when you have to drag all the kids to every appointment. She doesn’t handle ADD and can’t prescribe any medicine for its treatment, though. The waiting room is also small and there is nothing in there for kids to do while waiting(which you will do, but not too terribly long). Overall, I’ve been pleased with her practice and recommend it.
