Food is always worth the money. Golden Ale Chicken strips are the best thing to start with if its your first time coming here.

Went during winter break with a group of friends(minority group) got our first round of beers till they cut us off at 10ish for no reason. A group of white guys comes in at 12 gets served and where like wth did we do. Gave no reason I just thought that was pretty racist. Also had another bad racist experience with others around when their drunk very uncomfortable. We Will never go again !!

The beer is great, and it’s really close to the University campus, which allows me have a couple beers after finals with ease. The food isn’t my favorite, but it’s good.

BESTBEERINBAKERSFIELD! Hands-down. I live in San Diego(aka craft beer heaven) so I’m pretty spoiled when it comes to local brews. But man, when the BF and I are in Bakersfield, Lengthwise is an absolute must! The Zeus is golden! It’s 10% so it’s pretty strong, but it’s served in a small goblet. It’s got a great taste to it. I’m also a fan of the raspberry ale. Fruity beers can be hit or miss but this one is definitely a hit. You can definitely taste the raspberry but it isn’t too strong or sweet. The flavor is mild. The beer itself is pretty thick and wheaty. The food at Lengthwise is also really good! I’m a big fan of the chicken artichoke salad and the fish and chips! If you get a sandwich or burger, you must get it on focaccia. Their focaccia is really unique and adds a special wow factor to their juicy crisp burgers! Lengthwise is an absolute must for kicking it in Bakersfield!

As with most breweries the space is industrial looking. They don’t actually brew the beer here but it still has the feel. I ordered the Cyber Beer Bully and like it a lot. I would rate it 4 stars. It definitely has that IPA flavor. Citrusy and bitter at the end. I enjoyed it. The other patrons were mellow as you would expect from a beer place. The beertender was cool and quick. He was very responsive. I would definitely come back.

I love their pub food and beer/cider mixers. I wish they’d bring back the tangerine beer though! For food, their tri-tip sandwich, pulled pork sandwich, and bacon mac ‘n’ cheese are my personal favorites, but everything is good. It does get crowded for football and other sporting events, so be early to get a table and expect to stand in line to order for 5 – 10 minutes or so on those nights. Other than sporting events or special event nights, I’ve always been able to order right away and food is delivered fast.

Well now that the weather is cooler we went a for trike ride on our recumbent trikes starting at Enos Lane to Lengthwise at the Marketplace, and back again for a total of nearly 25 miles. I promised my husband a beer to cool off with mid way. We found Lengthwise had introduced a new beer called Widthwise. It is a lot like Ale Ya and has an alcoholic level of around 9 percent and was delicious. We also tried out their deep fried artichoke hearts as I had been reading how great they are and they were. Lengthwise is still our favorite brewery in Bakersfield.

I’ve been coming to LW since they had the original location only. This one is dead center meeting location for Bakersfield IMO. They’ve got an awesome staff, service, and atmosphere. An outside smoking patio and multiple tv’s gives everyone something. Plus, it’s next to the theater and college, so everyone comes here during lunch and night. My preferred location of the 3!

Man, I keep finding great spots in this town! I actually don’t remember what I ordered for dinner because the hot fries I ordered eclipsed everything. They were so SPICY, my mouth was on fire! I must have drank 3 glasses of water. I wish I would have brought a carton of milk with me. Anyway, I love spicy food so it was more pleasureable than the pain on my face showed. I want to go back for more. Since I’m not a beer person(hello whiskey!) I aksed the bartender to recommend a good beer and I did not like the he let me try that was made(?) in a whiskey barrel so I got an ale instead that tasted like apple cider. It was refreshing. My friends and I had a good time. We wanted to get some Jenga action but it was already taken so we will have to come back for that.

Came in when it wasn’t too busy and ordered the Mac n cheese with fries. The guy brought out the Mac n cheese, but no fries. He said it wasn’t rung up to come with fries, but the cashier asked me if I wanted them and I clearly said yes. The guy said he’d bring them out, but never did. Absolutely ridiculous.

Very cool place for this hot summer. Like their beer, garlic fries and spicy sauce. That thing is real spicy. Customer service is very positive and they want to make sure you leave happy. Good hang out place with friends. I will always go back .:)

First things first, I love lengthwise and this review would have been four stars, but the food quality has been lacking lately. I have been to all three locations and this one is by far my favorite. Real friendly staff, they’ll take care of you. Although I refuse to go there on a Friday or Saturday night, line out of the door! I used to always get the trip tip steak sandwich with a Zeus(ok, more like three), but it’s just not the same as the first time I’ve had it. The meat is always just warm and lacks salt. The stinky fries and calamari are always good as well. Their beer is awesome though! My friends aren’t too fond of it, but I really enjoy it and it’s made right here in Bakersfield! I recommend the crude porter and cyber bully ale. Overall, really good spot to go chill, grab a beer and lunch with some friends.

A causal birthday party without the frills with BEER is why we chose Lengthwise at the Marketplace. I had never been to any of the locations in town but had heard great things. Guys seem to love the industrial type feel of this place(yes, with TVS!). We did not expect a reservation to be accepted for a Sun evening for a dozen or so people but staff were OK to set a table aside for us! I checked in day of and it was still a go which tells me there was no issue in communication between staff — great! Our table was all set when we arrived and we were given the instructions to line up at the bar when ready to order beer(beer only here re alcohol) or food. Menus were also left at the tables for us. The bartender was slammed as it was quite busy but he was friendly and attentive when we went to the bar to order. The line went quick. We tipped very well despite the fact that we had a waitress but barely saw her(I even cleared my own glasses) and despite the fact that we had a disgusting, long hair baked into our stinky fries that we had ordered for the table. Staff remade them but our stomachs had turned at that point and we should have just had them removed from the bill. Fortunately, my group took it in stride but I felt really bad. Otherwise, the stinky fries from reviews seems to be a popular item to order. We had also ordered the fried artichokes for the table and these were quite good and without incident! My husband adores beer so choosing this microbrewery type place with its own homemade beer(Zeus beer for the men, Watermelon beer for the ladies!) was a great choice for his birthday and we all had a pretty good time.

It’s a decent place to go grab a beer. I like some of their IPA’s, namely the restoration ale that just came out. As far as brewpubs go it could be better. The food isn’t particularly special but I really like the jalapeño bread that some of the sandwiches have. I like that Bakersfield has a local brewpub.

I can’t even… Ok, I’m done sounding like a teenage girl. LW has good in-house and guest beers with mediocre pub fare. It’s not a bad place to hang out with friends, but the offerings leave a lot to be desired. I get it… this is the only home grown brewery within a 50 mile radius. They have a captive audience so they don’t really strive to improve or try something different. They’ve taken the same concept, copied it twice, and slapped it on two other locations in town. I guess if it’s not broken, it’s not worth fixing.

Stopped off here with the family this weekend and enjoyed a few brews and some good old fashioned«pub eats.» We were greeted by friendly staff and the service was average. First they brought out the Volcano fries – this little hidden gem is not on the menu. It’s the GONEWILD version of «stinky fries.» They kick it up a notch by topping the favorite fry with a generous portion of thick homemade chili, chunks of tri tip, bacon, jalapenos, shredded cheese, more melted gouda cheese, a drizzle of AV sauce, and they bring it out piping hot and ready for unadulterated consumption. I wanted to stop eating it some time before I actually did. It was so hot and delicious, I simply couldn’t stop! I also ordered the fish tacos. Those came prepared as thick cuts of seasoned and fried cod laid on flour tortilla, topped with mixed cabbage and a drizzle of Baja sauce(which they make in house) with a lemon wedge of the side. My SO enjoyed the fish and chips which were buttery, flaky, and delicious, and my daughter had the crispy chicken The shrimp taco’s were paired with a Razzberry wheat beer, and the fish & chips with a Pear Ale. The Razzberry wheat beer could probably be a meal on it’s own. It’s a struggle to finish 2 glasses on top of a meal. The Pear Ale is light, crisp, and refreshing! The perfect brunch pairing on a hot day.

My husband and I went on a date here. The service was excellent. The staff was very attentive. The waiters and waitresses liked to engage in conversation with the customers and were very knowledgeable about the beer. They even gave suggestions on what to try according to our preferences. We also got to sample the beer before we made a commitment to our choice. My husband loved the beer. We also loved the food. We had calamari for an appetizer. It wasn’t the best we’ve had, but it was still good. We also had a salad and fish and chips. Those were both good. It’s a great place to hang out just the two of us or with a group of friends. We can’t wait to return when we go on another date together! My husband can’t wait to try more beer and have the deep fried Twinkies!
