Mimi’s Cafe

Dinner was great, friendly staff and great food. They offer so many great deals. By one get one free, and kids eat free. Such a good deal! I will definitely be back!

This is still my favorite place for breakfast and with the numerous two for one coupons they send to e-​club members it is also affordable. Today my husband had the Quiche Lorraine with fresh fruit. I had ham and eggs with their great roasted breakfast potatoes and a perfect brown sugar blackberry muffin. I had to take most of my ham home to my dog Honey. Yummy.

Delicious. Everything was great! Server was a sweetheart and very informative. They have several specials going on and she let us know all about them. They have the best breakfast in town, and their salads are fantastic. I had their chicken under a brick this week and it was moist and flavorful. Try their tomato soup, because it’s very good, too! Lately I’ve been going to quite a few restaurants, and this one was the best meal I’ve had in the past month.

Stopped in the Bakersfield area for a weekend… The staff was so friendly, professional and attentive. I was really impressed! Food was nice and hot and tasty too.

I walked in and sat at their bar. I was alone and just looking for a late breakfast. Another gentleman was also alone and sat down a couple of chairs down from me.
The time was 9:40am. In the next 10 minutes I saw two waitresses and a bus boy walk right in front of us. Never once were either of us greeted or acknowledged. Neither of us was asked if we wanted a coffee or soda. NOTHING!!!
He looked at me, shook his head and then got up and left. I thought I don’t blame him and did the same. I’ve never been overtly ignored that way at a restaurant before. I like Mimi’s but will not frequent the Bakersfield location again.

I like there veggie omelet. I order it and a Café Au Lait every time I go. I will put avocado on top.

I used to love Mimi’s when I lived in Orange County. Not sure if it’s just the Bakersfield location, but it seems to me that prices are up even though both quality and portion size have decreased.
Last time here got mediocre service and mediocre (at best) food. Getting very difficult to recommend this place at all, especially considering the recent closure over health code violations. They’re open again but unless things improve in a lot of other ways I am in no hurry to return.

The service here has always been soo pleasant and so great. I rarely come to a place with such a happy staff all around, I came here a few times and there’s some things I don’t like, like the French onion soup. But I like everything else, the smoked salmon Benedict breakfast is absolutely delicious! Must come back and try more things

Lunch was great, meal served in a timely manner,
Staff in a positive mood, despite the setback a few weeks earlier,
Working their way back to earn the trust of customers, not afraid to discuss about past issues, moving forward with Smiles.
I will continue to comeback here, I believe they’re on the right course.

Stopped by for lunch the other day and found them closed… Heard later that the health dept had shut them down for unsanitary conditions, among other violations… write them off my list…

Unfortunately, we were not able to eat here this morning. The refrigeration system was on the Fritz. A very nice young lady named Alex popped out to explain the situation with Toasty Warm Muffins for the inconvenience. Thanks Alex!!! If we are ever working in Bakersfield again, we’ll stop in. 3 stars for the effort.

Terrible service and food! Worst Mimi’s ever!
Waited for an hour for food. They forgot half the order and the food had been sitting in the window a long time. The manager was terrible as well.

Poor Management and ill run. Sat and waited and waited and waited for our food. Server was overwhelmed and kitchen was backed up. They are understaffed and considering everyone has quit, this makes sense.
Clean this place up and get some great Management team to help out.

I don’t come here often. It was 2:30, so we thought we could get in and out quickly as the pace was empty. I’m hoping it was just an «off» day but the service was horrible. Waitresses were nice but the three standing around the handsome man at the counter were pretty useless. I’m hoping he got better service than we did…

Mimi’s is exactly what you might expect from a chain restaurant. The place is cute, service is typically friendly. Their lunch service can tend to be a bit slow on weekdays. So, may not be optimal for a work lunch.
We prefer to go for breakfast or lunch rather than dinner. Their carrot raisin bread and muffins are delicious and they have great options for kids.
I’m a huge fan of their crepes and egg white omelettes.
A nice spot with lots of space if you want a casual, leisurely meal.

We arrived at 1130am. They said there was a 20min wait. Which turned into 45min. Once we were seated we ordered right away due to being able to look over the menu ahead of time. We sat and waited until 1pm! And the food was not even up to par. It looked sloppy, rushed, and over cooked. I will not be going back or suggesting this restaurant to anyone.

Well… my opinion of Mimi’s has been slipping.
It’s been at least a year or two since I’ve been here. They lured me back with a coupon for brick chicken so my wife and went back.
The service is pretty poor. Slow to be seated, slow to bring drinks, slow to take your order, ect. The servers often disappear for long stretches of time and you are left wondering if they got eaten by zombies.
We do like the patio and bring our poodle. We decided this Labor Day to visit and the patio looked like a disaster zone. Crayons, dirty plates, food on the ground, and the statement from the hostess saying «This has not been cleaned from this morning» kinda grossed me out.
The food is ok and a good value. The chicken is a few steps above El Pollo Loco however the service and cleanliness is about the same.

We came in because we received a «buy one entrée get one free» coupon in the mail yesterday, and we just couldn’t pass up a free meal :) A sweet young man greeted us with a «bonjour» and seated us within 15 minutes. This chain restaurant provides a cozy atmosphere for those choosing to dine in, a bar for those looking to grab a quick drink/​bite, and a convenient take-​out line for those looking to dine in the comfort of their own home. I enjoyed their fresh squeezed orange juice and basket of French and sweet bread. Their eggs Benedict was bland, and the English muffin that the pouched egg was served on wasn’t toasted, which made it extremely challenging to cut and caused a big Benedict mess. For dessert, we signed up for their e-​club and received 2 free muffins :) The blueberry muffin was sweet, moist, and incredibly delicious; I will definitely come back for their pastries!

Ah, Mimi’s…I have been to two different branches of Mimi’s so far. The food is nothing to write home about. In general, it is average and appropriately priced. The décor is the same– French-​inspired which is cute.
They have seemed to be understaffed at this particular location for the past few months. Sometimes you will notice people waiting for a table despite the fact that there are empty tables. We have had one fantastic server who was fast, efficient and friendly but other times, we have had to either ask for our drinks or the bread to be served. On my last visit, I asked for my bacon-​avocado burger to be cooked medium and without onions. It was brought to me with onions and visibly pink in the center. Also, without any bacon. I checked the whole burger and really couldn’t find any bacon!
Anyway, I kept searching for our server to send my dish back to be cooked more. In the meantime, I kept noticing a man in black (? Waitstaff? Bartender?) wandering around, occasionally talking to customers but most of the time sitting at one of the empty tables looking at his smartphone. At first I thought he was on break but he would do that intermittently throughout our whole meal. Finally I was able to wave our server over and she seemed very harried and stressed. It seemed like she could have used some help which made me wonder what the man was doing bc he seemed like he would do some work and then just stop and rest. It was all very odd.
On the positive side, I do enjoy the breads and muffins that come as sides with many of the dishes. And none of the food has ever been truly bad. However, the service has been inconsistent in our past few visits. Hopefully this is something management can fix eventually.

I was really impressed! My dad and I came in and were seated right away. We had a very nice waitress who informed us of all the Friday night specials that they had. She was a total sweetheart. Brought us our drinks right away and refilled them lots. We were parched or maybe it’s just their ice tea is that good! Had 4 glasses. She brought us their basket of bread while we waited for our food. I really liked the pumpkin bread.
The food was excellent. My quiche was the best I’ve ever had in my life! The salad was too. Really good food here.
My dad enjoyed his food as well. He ordered the French pot roast and said the mashed potatoes were the best he’s ever had.
If you haven’t been here before, try this place out! I’m looking forward to my next visit.
