I can’t believe I haven’t checked in sooner! walk here from my office several times before to grab my Cajun Turkey, chips, and chocolate chip cookie or some kind of delicious dessert! Have had their cookies, brownies, chocolate cake… OMG I just realized how bad I sound… I promise I eat more than their desserts! I love that I can order, pick up on my time frame, and the sandwich doesn’t taste like it’s been siting there for hours, never soggy, never without great flavor. They are so close to beating out Heidi’s… But Heidi“s bread places them on top! That being said, love this place! I’ve eaten here several times in the last month and will continue to have my lunch or pick up my lunches here. You may not know from my dessert mentions, but their sandwiches are a better choice to a cheeseburger.

Sequoia is one of my favorite sandwich places. I’m not a sandwich person, but the sandwiches here will turn you into a sandwich person. The last time I came here was about 2wks ago on a lunch date w my husband. My husband absolutely loves sandwiches and Sequoia is one of his favorites too. I know Sequoia is all about those famous delicious sandwiches, but you have to give credit to their desserts too. The desserts are one of the highlights for me at this place. They make theeee best sugar cookie in town, they make other flavors too, but the sugar cookie is the GOLD here. Love the crystallized sugar they use on their gigantic sugar cookies, it makes the cookie sooo good. They also make really good blueberry scones which are usually gone by 8am, so that tells you right there… They are darn good. I think I have tried majority of their sandwiches here and each one has been really good, the last visit I tried the beef dip sandwich here which was my first time ordering it and it was quite delicious. I’m the person that usually orders the chicken sandwich so ordering that beef sandwich was not a mistake. The coleslaw I had on the side was the best I’ve eaten. It doesn’t taste too sweet but just enough. I definitely recommend you try the coleslaw… Mmmmmm.

I love the spring salad with honey mustard dressing and the hot vegetarian sandwich is soooo good! I usually order online and then go pickup which is so nice because they are very busy at lunchtime!

When coworkers go to a restaurant for lunch, they want to have a meal together. When you order at the exact same time, you’d expect the orders to come out sequentially rather than in the order of the bingo machine spits out numbered balls. Yet that did not seem to happen today. While my coworker was in the midst of packing up his leftovers to leave, my sandwich barely arrives at the table. I was informed that«all of our hot sandwiches are made to order and take an extra 10 – 15 minutes to make». This information is not on the sign boards or menus and never told to me at the register. Instead, I am delivered a mildly-warmed sandwich to my table and told that’s just how it is. Informed that a manager would be informed and told to come over to me, I waited. After she got me a box for the fill sandwich I was not able to enjoy since I needed to leave for work, I was again told that my sandwich took«an extra 10 – 15 minutes to make» and to «have a better rest of the day.» My day was fine until I tried to enjoy a sandwich from Sequoia today. The only thing that made it better was I packed my lunch at the office and could enjoy that later since the sandwich from Sequoia was cold by the time we arrive back to work. Since the guy digging in our dumpsters didn’t mind eating anything, he ate your sandwich today instead of your customer. $ 10.50 isn’t a big deal to me but the attitude that I received from your employees, making me feel like it was on me to know and understand how long your sandwich making practices are, was unacceptable. I don’t want a free meal. I don’t want this sandwich replaced. I want to be able to enjoy a meal at Sequoia with my coworkers without having to dine in shifts. Work with your staff in the hopes that this doesn’t happen again to any other patron still willing to visit your establishment. I’m not.

This location is such a smudge on the reputation of the Sequoia brand. As the prices go up, the service level goes down. Each year they manage to hire the snarkiest and rudest batch of child laborers they can find to ensure that when you have an issue instead of getting quality service you get dead eyes attitude instead. They have the worst habit of just leaving their phone off the hook during busy lunch hours to avoid taking more orders. It’s like they can’t handle the volume of business. You’d think that’s a good problem to have, no? Instead they’d rather lose those orders? Out of the 100 times I placed an order with them 30 of them have been incorrect. Let me clarify that a bit, because incorrect makes it sound like I had some complicated diva like order. No. The closest thing I ever got to a «special» order was no tomatoes. When I say incorrect I mean they gave me a completely different sandwich, didn’t remember a part of my order(soup or roll), or didn’t have my order at all! Generally, I avoid Sequoia at all cost. The one exception to this is during Thanksgiving, when The Gobbler is available. But I will not go to the Ming location!

I ordered the eggplant and artichoke panini with no cheese, add avocado. It came out quick and was piping hot. This sandwich is delicious! It’s not that often that you find a really good HOT vegetarian sandwich. I would highly recommend this place. Good quality food. Great atmosphere and lots of good options

Went here for the first time today. 4 words: NEWFAVORITESANDWICHSPOT. Omg! I ordered the grilled(warm) cajun turkey sandwich. I kid you not when I say, it’s the best sandwich I’ve EVER had! Sooooooo good! The chips are nothing special in my opinion. I came in around 12:30. It was busy but not to packed. I highly recommend the sandwich stated above if it’s also your first time coming here.

My favorite sandwich spot. It was the first time eating there and the food is amazing! Loved the Chili and cornbread. It was the best I’ve had. Their deserts are also amazing and the portions are a good size. Not to mention that the manager and Adaly gave us amazing service!

I’ve been feeling really crappy lately, as in sick and felt like a soup would hit the spot. Came here on my lunch today and ordered a regular(20oz) drink, a Hot Ham & Cheese and a medium Tomato Bisque. It was the lunch rush and the inside was packed but my co-worker and I were able to find a couple of stools towards the entrance. My order came in about 5 minutes so service was pretty quick considering how busy it was and their phone orders are crazy too. My hot Ham & Cheese was nice and hot when it arrived and I enjoyed it alot. The bread was toasted well and the melted cheeses were the right amount of gooeyness mixed with a good amount of ham. The Tomato Bisque was also served hot and came with saltine crackers. I loved the deep rich flavor this bisque embodied and really made me warm up like I was hoping. Everything was good or pretty good but one thing I was surprised at was that this meal cost $ 17? I questioned the cashier and she said she didn’t make a mistake, I thought this was a wee bit much for a sandwich, soup and a drink. But I wasn’t about to argue. After leaving, I looked at their menu and the cashier charged me for their Premium«Double Hot Ham & Cheese» which is a few dollars difference from the regular, I’m guessing even more ham & cheesey goodness? The price was little disappointing but like I said, it was hitting that spot and made me feel warm so I didn’t want to complain I have been here several times and to be honest this never has happened with being charged with something I didn’t order so I will call this an «instance» and will be returning when I yearn for another soup or my favorite«The New Yorker», now that is worth every penny.

Sequoia is one of those places that I don’t frequent often enough for how freaking good their sandwiches and things are. I do like Heidi’s a lot for sandwiches, don’t get me wrong. I don’t think I could give a clear winner between the two. However, Sequoias has it locked down with being pretty gourmet and made with love. Isn’t that what the most important ingredient is? ;) My go-to is always the Monterey Chicken Club. Grilled chicken, avocado, bacon, ranch drizzle, tomato, and romaine(?) lettuce on an onion dill bun. Holy moly, it’s good. Despite my adoration for this masterpiece, I have branched out and tried the French Dip, the Pastrami, the Cajun Turkey, and the Gobbler(yes, THEE Gobbler) and can assure you that all are fabulous. Aside from crafty sandwiches, Sequoia’s sides/soups/desserts are incredible. I tried their chili recently and was in shock at how flavorful it was. You get a good, heaping portion at a «small» size for $ 2.95. I love good food with a good price. Careful though — it’s hot. Not spicy hot, but they serve it like straight-from-the-fire hot with cheese on the side that melts immediately upon mixing. I learned the heat level the hard way. I appreciate that though — don’t sign me up for lukewarm food, ever. My fault for being overly exuberant(and hungry/chubby), not Sequoia’s, haha. Their baked potatoes are some of the most creative mixtures I’ve ever seen. With combinations like ham/broccoli/cheese, or ranch/chicken, I’d like to try them all in the same way I’d like to try all of their desserts in their extensive baked goods section. The cheesecake always calls my name(even though my waistline often strongly declines). They do sell deli meats and whole hams/etc near the entrance, and also do phone orders/pickup/ONLINE ORDERING for when you’re on your lunch break in a hurry. There’s even a separate line and area for it. Online ordering is such a win for me. Gotta love it. Sequoia is Bakersfield-made, by the way. Nothing better than supporting your local businesses :)

This is great for the business center that surrounds the Sequoia Sandwich Company, but it’s kind of crazy to get to. The speed bumps, limited parking, and traffic make it hard to maneuver through the area. However, if you work in the business center, you are golden! Expect to pay approximately $ 10 for a sandwich and drink. The bread is always so soft! The one downtown is ALWAYS busy. They do not deliver unless it is a catering order.

Any location is just as amazing, but this one is tucked away surrounded by business’s. Devoted to quick in and out service, their soups, sandwiches, salads, baked potatoes and Desserts are like Mama used to make.

The time before last I went here they lost my order. 20 min later when I complained they gave me a free sandwich coupon with my meal. I got back to my office to find out they had given me an incorrect order. Today they took 15+ minutes again to make a sandwich and I had to ask for my food. Not to mention it was pretty mediocre. Their breakfast is extremely limited and not very good. The manager is also not friendly at all. They’re off my list for the forseeable future.

I have to stop here at least once any time I visit my parents. The food is fresh and the sandwiches are delicious. I snapped and had cheesecake the last time and it was the best I’ve ever had! Look out Cheesecake Factory lol… Totally recommend this place for a lunch spot.

Sequoia Sandwich Company has the best sandwiches hands-down. This location is a very friendly staff with quick service. I recommend the New Yorker or the big dipper for meat lovers in the anti-Posto salad is great also. Pair it with a side salad. During the weekdays this location gets very busy since it’s in a business Park. Get there early to ensure you have seating. Great place for lunch meeting although it can get quite noisy. I highly recommend this place!

This is my favorite sandwich shop in town. Whether it’s the Rosedale, downtown or Ming location, the sandwiches and soups are always fantastic. The service is always fast and friendly and the food is consistently good. My usual for lunch is the half turkey sandwich and cup of chili. The turkey sandwich comes on this malty, slightly sweet squaw bread, with turkey, avocado, cheese, tomato and lettuce. The cup of chili is small but packs a punch. I recommend getting the chopped red onions and shredded cheddar to top it with, and I always mix in a little tobasco for pow pow. If you have run, grab a chocolate chip cookie.
