Sizzler

Had lunch with my brother and nephew today. Asked for 2 senior salad bars and 1 regular. It was 10.99 for the regular salad bar and 12.49 for each of the senior salad bars, which included a «free» drink, which we did not want, only drink water. When I asked the manager about it she said the drink was 1.50, that is not free. So if you deducted the 1.50 it is 10.99 each, the EXACT same price as the regular salad bar, that is not a senior discount or a very good way to do business. To top it off the food was mediocre and the choices were very limited. Should have saved money and had a lot better food and went to Hometown Buffet.

Hibachi chicken is always good, salad bar meh, wife had beef tips and mushrooms meh, strawberry lemonade was really good, bread pudding surprisingly is always amazing and of course the cheesy bread never disappoints

I’ve always loved sizzler and still do! ! 6oz steak and endless shrimp is my go to every time we dine there… wife loves the Malibu chicken .and daughter had the shrimp Alfredo which she said was ok… endless salad is usually good …

Agree with the other high Unilocal stars ratings here. Sizzler here clean, well kept. Seen few younger servers here but they seem well trained, respectful, doing great job.
This visit foods excellent. Wanted to give 4 stars but food was So So Yummy. Cooked perfectly. Taste like pictured in their hanging ad photos. I cannot justify less than 4.75 stars and agree with some receint similar reviews
I expected when I came in that foods will be reasonably decient. But I enjoyed Every Bite.

I ordered off their menu. Not buffet sections.
Oh. Near the meal end one of their young server knoticed Im drinking cups end. She came over and asked if I wanted more water. I said yes. When she returned I said thank you. She said «My Pleasure». Later she came by and said can I take your plate away. Very pleasantly. Im so Taken and impressed.
Such a great place to take your whole family. Grand parents and all.
I was here Solo today. Late lunch 2pm. Enjoyed my Old Self so much, Everything… I left 20% tip.

Not bad. Parking was abundant, the grounds /​landscaping was clean and well maintained. There was no wait at 12:15 pm on a Friday. The cashier was friendly and efficient. The interior was slightly dated but clean and comfortable. The booth was clean and spacious. The food came out a little sooner then I expected and was prepared to my satisfaction. The waitress ensured our experience was good and was friendly. The biggest negative would be the location. The area around the restaurant was run down. Overall a good experience.

The salad bar is really yummy here! Unfortunately the service is not good. We waited for 20 minutes and never got our cheese bread, and that bread is reason enough to come it’s so good! Our waitress never came back to check on us. Our drinks were empty the entire meal! Also, incredibly over priced. $ 30 for 2 salads?! It’s lettuce and dressing people. It’s good fresh food but not worth being irritated the whole time.

If I could give it 0 stars I would. Used to be great, but add a tour bus full of rude, pushy French tourists, a staff of clueless teenagers and no tables because they’re all «reserved», stand around with some clueless waitress who panics and doesn’t know what to do, for 2 laps around the entire restaurant when they are still selling but out of room. It’s like they can’t do simple math. Finally, after being literally shoved around at the salad bar by more French tourists, and then telling us they were out of items we ordered, enough was enough and a place we look forward to going every time we go down to Bakersfield, NEVER AGAIN
Run far away. It sucks.

I hadn’t been to a sizzler in about 5 years because the food was just terrible… so my kids went to have dinner there to give me another try. The restaurant looked totally different, larger, cleaner and a very pleasant atmosphere. The food we ordered was very good, big improvement since I last ate there, my burger was excellent and the fries are the bomb fresh and hot. The thing I was very impressed about was the service we received from our waitress was very kind and attentive we didn’t have to ask for anything. Our waitress took very good care of our table. For that I will be returning and encourage you to stop by and give Sizzler a try…

We were pleasantly surprised to find the food to be better than we expected, and the service was great.
I ordered the 6 oz. Sirloin Steak with Chicken Fettuccine and Mashed Potatoes. My «rare» steak ended up in between, «rare» and «medium rare», but that’s ok, I prefer medium rare steak anyways. (Normally restaurants around here tend to overcook the meat; hence, why I decided to order a level down — that’s just my little tip.) Anyways, I thought the steak tasted simple and juicy, while my Chicken Fettuccine was bit mediocre. Because instead of linguine pasta, it came out as penne and the sauce seemed watery, like something you would expect from a Lean Cuisine frozen dinner box. At least the broccoli tasted fresh and not overcooked. Now the biggest disappointment came from the side of, «mashed potatoes» that looked AND tasted dry. In fact, it seemed like the took an ice cream scooper, hollowed out a cold baked potato, and placed in on my plate. Not even the side of goopy gravy could save it.
Let’s see… Their clam chowder tasted pretty good and it went heavenly with their complimentary Cheese Toast. The ones that ordered unlimited Crispy Shrimp seemed to enjoy it, commenting that they were, «bite-​sized.» However, it was a bit of a wait when one of them ordered another serving.
So to wrap this all up:
–Order a degree of doneness lower than preferred for steak
–Just order a Baked Potato instead of mashed
–Try out their Clam Chowder with their Cheese Toast
–And if you get unlimited shrimp, order another serving ahead of time to shorten your wait

Love Sizzler. Service has definitely gotten better. Food is great as usual. Great atmosphere and staff very friendly.

I love this place. Great for kids and parents. Kids insisted on five star Unilocal review. We disagree with other reviews. The meet is super good. Salmon was great. Jello was great. Burgers were great. French fries crispy. Onion rings a little too chewy. Cheese bread was good. Pizza for kids was very cheesy and well liked. Sadly no hot dogs.

Okay so do you really need a review of Sizzler? Honestly, who doesn’t know what they’re in for when they walk through these doors? But I did anyway. My lunch companion suggested it and I gave in. What do you expext to read here anyway? It was good, it was bad, what? I gave it 4 starts because well I got exactly what I thought I’d get. I don’t think any less of someone for eating at Sizzler, but you’re an idiot for looking for a review to help you decide whether or not to.

Salad bar is nice but lousy service. Saw three different waitresses in the first few minutes, then none whatsoever. Also the salmon was too well done for my taste… Kinda dry. Rest of the food was good.

Compared to «Sweet Tomatoes» this is fantastic. Taco bar (beef, carnitas w/​fresh guacamole) + salad bar (various fresh foods and salad options) + drink = $ 12. Chicken wings are cooked well and moist. Cheesy toast has a delicious crisp top. A steal. Good good quality. Salads are fresh and mixed well to maximize flavor like the Super Food Salad, which includes kale, a healthy favorite. Corn chowder was hot, chunks of fresh corn and creamy. Guacamole — large chunks of avocado and zesty. Tuna salad fresh and not watery. Tons of tasty options like even a jicama mango salad. For VEGAN eaters — your good to go. Restaurant is clean and bar well stocked and maintained. For buffet restaurants this is one of the better options.

I like this Sizzler and if you don’t then you must have a stick stuck up your ass. It’s one of the better ones. The salad bar is magical. The vegetables grow right before your eyes and little elves carry the trays to your table. All in all, I will continue to visit this place and that’s that.

Corn soup not hot, and was advertised as soup of the day. As for the desserts, they had no hot desserts up, and they had only one ice cream or frozen yogurt flavor. Was marked as chocolate, which was great… came out vanilla. Full of disapointment. I will never visit this Sizzler again nor suggest this Sizzler to anyone.

We ordered 2 all you can eat steak and shrimp. Portions were perfect, steak was cooked perfect and tasted great all the food was hot and served within 25 minutes of us being seated. Drinks kept filled and for sizzler this is good because the food in the past was horrible! Good job stepping up your game

Not bad at all for the area. Was with a crew of non adventurous family who just wanted reasonably priced American food that wasn’t fast food.
Wish they had a menu of appetizers or sides. They let me order a side of steamed broccoli but I didn’t know it was available from the menu.

Bathroom it’s very clean. Disappointing salad bar. Skip Sizzler and go to sweet tomatoes! Fresher, higher quality, and more variety for the salad bar… And better price
For lunch salad bar!

Ordered the Ribeye Mediumn came back as well done, waitress did not seem to care it was over cooked.
Resturant was so load from a party going on that the rest of the guest could not hear themselves think.
