Sonic Drive-In Restaurant

Always slow, plus just tried to call an order in on their $.50 corn dog deal. Was told no and hung up on. Stay away, bad service and from the look of the employees its probably filthy in there.

Omg totally sucked!!! Customer service was the absolute worst!!! Waited 15 minutes to get to the window to get my order. So much for fast food

I’ve been waiting for a good 20 minutes and this place is not even busy. Employees have the worst attitude. If you hate your life just quit your job. Don’t take it out on us, the customers.
We just want food.

Terrible went through in the evening and workers where dirty and jokeing around with my food not cool at all what happend im a buisness pro and this place is not cool for beeing downtown

Worst experience ever to start off the manager (Brandon) was having a picnic with his family its my guess that the treats where on the house after that the person who was talking my order kept placing me on a hold it took them About 20 mins to get my order out this was my familys first time at sonic and since I talk about it so much they wanted to try it I walked in to the place and explained to the manager that we no longer wanted our order the place was dirty the employees where un worn out uniforms and most of them where on the phone if this is how corporate is running things you guys should really pay more attention to detail when it comes to customers service

My tater tots were lukewarm and ¾ full. Good bacon cheese burger! The blueberry slush was so good, but man those brain freezes.
One thing I noticed was the lack of skate wear. guess they don’t wear the skates at this location anymore. The speed of delivery «dine at» was fast. The carhop server was really cool. I wish more servers had her drive. All in all gave 4 stars because we ordered a doubkecheeseburger but ended up with a single and my tater tots.

They are my favorite place to get slushies and flavored soda’s especially their route 44 Diet Dr. Pepper with a squirt of vanilla. I just can’t think of going anywhere else to buy them. They also have good hot dogs. Especially when I’m craving for a Chili Cheese Coney.
The service here is unpredictable. Throughout the years, I’ve had good and bad service from Sonic. Today’s service just made it to the top. They had to take my order twice, because I have to call my husband to verify if he wanted hot dogs with his route 44. After they took my 2^nd set of orders, their staff member, whose name is Rachel, came out to verify if my order should be combined, I told her yes. When she came out with my order, she read all the items to me and asked if it’s everything that I ordered. I said yes. I asked if I can have a drink carrier and she came back with it so fast! She asked me again if there’s anything else that I need, I told her that I have everything and she’s been great! Now, for fast food standards, that’s efficiency and customer service at its best. I wish that they could have more Rachel’s in this line of work.
I do hope to have her again when I come back here, if not, I hope she’s in a better paying job because she deserves it!

Was going to eat here today. My daughter had to use the restroom before we ordered our food. Asked them to unlock bathroom. Took one look inside and said «oh hell no» and took her to Jack in the Box to use the bathroom and then left without ordering food. I’m assuming the kitchen that is not open to the public looks worse.

We ordered five milkshakes for our family. The location was not busy. They WERE running a special on milkshakes (½ price after 8pm). Two of the five were wrong (should have been hot fudge, but were just chocolate) and when I contacted the manager, she argued with me that SHE PERSONALLY had made them, and that I didn’t know what I was talking about. Very poor Customer Service skills (Manager only, staff was courteous) I will NOT be back to THIS location. We have found other locations in the Bakersfield area that are more concerned with the Customer experience.

My friends and I were coming back down to So Cal after camping in Sequoia for the weekend and decided to stop at sonic before the two hour drive back.
I ordered a popcorn chicken combo with an oreo cheesecake milkshake, and I asked for the restroom key. One of the employees informed me that she would go unlock the restroom. After checking multiple times if the restroom was unlocked (newsflash: it wasn’t), I asked again, and the employee said that she had indeed unlocked it, but there was probably someone inside.
I was at sonic for probably half an hour total, and it’s not as though someone would be in the restroom for that long… I kept checking, it was still locked. It’s just really rude that an employee would lie to me about opening the restroom when it was clearly not open.
Moreso, the male restroom was very clearly open, and it just looked like a bomb went off on the inside of it and it was ridiculously filthy.
Despite not being able to go to the bathroom, they also forgot to bring me my fries with the combo, so she had to go back and bring those… which took a while.
All in all, the food was standard, but the service at this location sucked, to put it bluntly. Also, the tables were very very dirty and was hard to find a table to sit at that wasn’t covered with random unknown sticky substances.

Quick service, correct order, great drinks! Fountain Coke Zero! With vanilla! Food is pretty good, not horrible, and it’s the last place in town French toast sticks can be found. These are a necessity periodically.

This one is one of the best Sonics in town. The food is typical of any Sonic. The quality of food and drinks is good; the food is fresh and the drinks are just as you order them. The staff is friendly and they get your order to you quickly. This location is easy to get in and out of and has a drive thru.

i went to enjoy your drink special today .79 cent slushies. i was very much let down by the service today. the person taking my order wasn’t just rude to me i saw them being rude to a child as well. i had my drinks brought out, and they were not made right. i waited almost 20 min for my drinks to come back made properly. i understand there was a high volume of customers today. that doesn’t mean staff has to act like we are a problem, after all they are at work. i love sonic, but i wont be back. i can go around the corner for a slushie, and much better treatment, i will say there was one employee who was nice, and saying sorry for the person who was being rude.

Went through the Sonics Drive thru on Chester and 24^th St. today. We were the fifth car behind the service window. Only ordered one milkshake, an employee walked out and around 5 cars who ordered for entires families, and up to our car window so we didn’t have to wait. This is an excellent example of offering great customer service, thinking outside of the box. Bringing FAST back to Fast Food! About time somebody figured this out! Good job Sonics!

Meh. Really. Meh.
Service, Meh. Speed, meh. Employees, meh. Clean inside, NOT. Once had an employee so rude, my wife told her if she hates her job so much, she should quit. This is not my favorite Sonic location. I only go here if I can’t get to another one any time soon. Otherwise, I recommend passing them by. This location has the most rude and annoying staff in all Bakersfield.

Sonic has good olé greasy American food. Classic 50s service.
Pull up. Order and get your food delivered to your car.
There are picnic tables outside if you don’t want to eat in your car. There is a drive thru option as well.
I used to work here. Not at this one but another location. Glad I don’t anymore.
Anyway, I come here about once a month and my food is pretty fresh most the time. Only complaint is they don’t bring sauces most the time and seem put out by having to make a trip to get the sauces. I make the effort when I order to say I need ranch and BBQ so they don’t have to make 2 trips.
I love the food and can’t stay away.

Funny staff I had a guy prank me once snd I laughed my ass off. Like most Sonics food is whatever but like most people I come here for the drinks I love they will mix any flavors you want

I give it 2 stars, I swear every time I try and go tru the drive tru no one comes to the speaker no matter what:(I had to drive up to the window where a male worker nice but you can tell he doesn’t care walked up and said «sorry man about that» could barely remember what I wanted cause the drinks were pretty new to me.
But my drinks were bomb, and the new drinks were made just the way I wanted

poor service … need to get speaker working, have to almost scream ordered a watermelon slush taste watered down and had nerds in it didn’t ask for that …
Also what’s with the difference in happy hr. times Oswell is 2 to 5 …
they are only 2 to 4 … same company …

I have never experienced a Sonic before. Ever. So to see that there were so many on the way to this location and a few in this same city was totally new for me. Of course my husband had to pick the most run down Sonic in Bakersfield to go to. This place is run down, the employees look unkempt. I saw one guy going inside the place and he was covered in tattoos, my husband is covered in them too, but his line of work allows them. Then again, I know no etiquette when it comes to the fast food industry except for wash your hands!!!
This place has a car hop type place, a drive thru, and a place for you to walk up to give your order. I don’t know how other Sonics work or if they’re all like this, but I thought the whole idea was pretty cool. I just thought it was a little weird that you give your order through a voice machine as if you were going through the drive thru. I also didn’t like that their menu’s weren’t the complete menu’s. We had to look at a menu that was in the car hop to get the breakfast menu and some of the menus were so hard to see because of graffiti that was etched into the plexi glass.
I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with tots (totally awesome that you can choose tots, at least imo!) and my husband got the egg and cheese breakfast burrito with tots also. I really wanted to try one of their amazing looking slushees, but my craving for diet coke consumed me. The burger was really really good, but standard looking, actually it was a complete mess when I opened it, but it tasted like nothing I had ever had before, probably because I had never had one before. They were very generous with the tots too, but really didn’t bring enough ketchup out. There is no inside you can go into here either to get anything. My husband really liked his breakfast burrito too.
As rundown as this Sonic is, I don’t see myself returning to this one in particular. I don’t see myself in Bakersfield anytime soon anyway, but I definitely will be visiting a Sonic that is closer to where I live, if I can find any! All in all, good but weird experience here.
