So sad. This used to be one of my favs. How far it’s fallen. I will not be back. The coffee is incredibly bitter. The waiter said that’s just the way the coffee is. The biscuits and gravy were salty and lumpy. The menu said homemade corned beef hash. Not hardly, it was out of a can. The so called cowboy potatoes were cooked in a fryer. When I questioned the waiter, he could not tell me if the corned beef was out of a can or not. «I don’t eat corned beef.» Quote from the waiter. Wish this place had never changed owners.

I left this restaurant very upset. It was my first time here and I will never return. I have a gluten allergy so when I ordered my food I asked the waitress if she could check on the ingredients and I made her aware that I had an allergy. She was very accommodating and checked my order over with the chefs. When my food came she said everything was prepared without gluten ingredients. I was a little concerned about the creamed corn but since she said it was gluten free, I just assumed the chef revised the recipe and it would be fine. Well, after eating some of it I became even more paranoid. I asked her to double check with the chef. She came back and said she was very sorry, that the corn did have flour in it and she wasn’t sure why the chef previously told her it was fine. Obviously, I was very upset. She was very accommodating about it and took my food off the tab, but the chef should know better. After rushing home and a lot of medication later, I am still feeling very sick. I will not return to this place as I cannot trust them when I ask if something contains gluten. The fact that the chef said it was okay and then later admitted that there was flour in the recipe is ridiculous. I understand that restaurants can’t always accommodate, which is why I made the waitress aware of my condition when ordering, and therefore should have been told then if the chef could not accommodate my request, instead of giving me food that contained gluten.

Went to Prime Cut to try there new breakfast menu and it was absolutely amazing! On special was a Smoked Prime Rib Chicken Fried Steak and it was special. And the gravy was probably the best I’ve had at a Resturant! My girlfriend had the Denver omelette also amazing light and fluffy and full of ham cheese and fresh veggies! My girlfriend also said the hash brows were special. I’ll be back! Thanks Prime Cut!!!

Since my last review they have removed jambalaya from the menu. Our main reason for going here. Last night I has prime rib, assuming it was a typical prime rib roast. Oven roasted. This wS smoked. It wS HORIBLE! The smoke flavor wS SOIOOOO overbearing you couldn’t taste meat meat. It really was gross for me and I love meat, even smoked… but not this. They also cut their desserts down, another reason we went. Strike 2. Last, we had bought a $ 10 off they would not honor. Although I understand THEIR«reasoning»…Merv got my $ 4 and not them… if they had honored coupon I would come back. They would not have lost money honoring it and by honoring it a $ 2 – 3 customer aquistion fee isn’t bad.

Now that it’s under new ownership(service was so horrible under the old owner that I didn’t come back for over a year), this place has changed for the better for sure. Service was great and food is outstanding, thankfully they kept the gumbo dish still on the menu. Definitely will come back.

The menu has a good mix of new and old favorites. We enjoyed the smothered fries(new favorite) and a pit beef plate and pastrami sandwich(old favorites). The staff was attentive and stopped at our table almost too often, but included our server, the bar tender, AND the manager. Our appetizer came out literally 2 minutes before our main course, so timing wasn’t quite as good as our meal was. We’ll definitely be back.

I believe the previous location off Stockdale was better. The food was ok but the service wasn’t. Might go back if I had no other options. Sorry.

Oh Bakersfield… Who are you? Oh right, one of California’s cattle Meccas. Although the original intention was to hit up a pizza joint in this shopping center, I’m happy I ran into you. Let’s be honest, strip malls offer us some of the best guilty pleasures when it comes to food. As a passer-by patron, I felt right at home as I was greeted with a smile and friendly service. The push of their Happy Hour must be their bread winning feature considering the entire feng shui revolves around the small bar. Nonetheless; I still indulged in a brew. I ordered the Dallas Burger and boy did it hit the spot! Since I’m not a big fan of onions or pickles; the Dallas Burger was the best choice because it comes with just the patty, a light layer of BBQ sauce, and some coleslaw sandwiched perfectly between the buns. I would suggest asking for some hot sauce to give it a little extra kick. We ordered Sticky Fries which are essentially just garlic fries but unless you enjoy overly seasoned fries that are soggy about halfway through… Steer clear. Overall felling: happy.

Food was horrible, not sure I’ve ever had something that lacked so much flavor. The service was fine, seat and atmosphere but the food was just bad. We even had a gift certificate to use so didn’t pay full and can say that at half off, I still wouldn’t pay to eat here

Steven makes the best Bloody Mary’s. Game day is awesome here!!! He may be a waiter but request his Bloody Mary and you won’t be disappointed!

I only come to Prime Cut for the karaōke on Fridays. The drinks are good. The patio is big. The regulars are a blast. There’s a big parking lot so there is no trouble with parking. What more can you ask for?

Out 1st visit since the change of ownership & we were not impressed. My husband had the fish & chips. I tried to convince him to send it back but he wouldn’t. Oil tasted old & was fish was over cooked. I had the Ruben & upgraded to stinky fries. The tube was good but the stinky fries were not as good as in the past. The cheese wasn’t even melted. When the waitress came with the bull she asked if my husband wanted a box because he had only eaten 2 of the pieces of six of the fish. She asked if it was too burnt but never offers to replace or redo. I’m glad we had a gift card. We won’t be going back

First time since I have been back to Prime Cut since the new owners took over. I am totally disappointed. The food was flavorless, poor service with excuses. What you order on the menu isn’t necessarily what you will get. I have never had Tabasco sauce served to you in a cup. Not the Prime Cut I knew and loved. We will not return

We hadn’t been to the Prime Cut in quite some time and we remembered it as really good. I used to love getting their shrimp po’boy. We shouldn’t have went back to keep the good thoughts about them. We went today and that will be the last time. Walking in, there were dirty tables even though it was slow. Beer selection on the menu was small but we made choices, they were out of them. Ordered an Arnold Palmer and took a few sips to try and figure out if it was the lemonade or tea that tasted old. Couldn’t figure it out so I asked for a water. My husband enjoyed the stinky fries, but the steak sandwich and potato salad rated a «meh» from him. I still waited for my water as a family was sat by us. They had to ask for menus both times the server came to take their drink orders. He told them they were without a server or host. Finally got my water when the server came to refill it and saw nothing was there! It could have been an off day for them, things happen. Unfortunately things were not happening for the best on our visit. I hope the next person that goes has better luck.

Okay so I take my one star ratings very seriously! I don’t give someone one star unless I feel a deep dark fury burning inside me while dining at an establishment, with that said… I think the easiest way for me to explain how bad this was is: 1. The service was HORRIBLE. The server was new or … I have no idea. She was so bad. I ordered an Arnold Palmer and she gave me iced tea and water. Then she spilled it. It was just so bad 2. The food was cold. Everything that came out was room temperature or colder. 3. The water legit tasted like it was from a dirty dishwasher. Please understand that I am not exaggerating. The water was a shade of grey. When I asked about the grey water the server told me «Ummm. thats what it always looks like» and then I decided I’d rather be thirsty than drink grey water or a Not Arnold Palmer 4. The food was sub-par to how it used to be. I have been to Prime Cut tons of times over the last ten years. This was NOT the norm. It was horrible. The BBQ sauce didn’t even taste the same. Not okay! 5. And finally my last complaint. I wouldn’t complain about this if the four above things did not take place but they did so… ITWASSOMOTHEREFFINEXPENSIVE! For the food, drinks and service to be so bad that I complained three times and then paid over $ 100 for my family it was just plain unacceptable.

WORSTEVER! Got a to go order. I got the fried catfish with fries. Fries were totally moist and wilted. Catfish was mediocre at best, but the worst part was I paid $ 17.00 for that one thing. I also ordered a chicken breast. So undercooked I had to microwave for several minutes before eating. I also ordered pulled pork, but can’t tell you anything about that dish because they didn’t even put it in my to go bag. I didn’t find this out until I got home, and was not about to drive all the way back. Facebooked the restaurant, but haven’t heard anything from them to rectify the problem, and certainly haven’t received a refund on my credit card. Do yourself a favor and don’t EVER eat here! Overpriced, undercooked, flavorless.

Went to butcher shop. Got stuffed pork chops. They told me how to cook them in oven, and they came out perfect. They were delecious, my whole family enjoyed them. Yes they cost some money but they tasted fantastic so i cant complain. If you want to cook some food to impress someone but kinda suck at cooking go here and follow the instructions, you’ll look like a master chef.

My server Joshua C was the highlight of our night. Yet on the other hand the hostess Brianna was the worst hostess I’ve ever dealt with. She was just unhappy to be there and acted like EVERYONE was an inconvenience. She needs to leave prime cut if she’s the hostess next time I go in I’m immediately walking out and I’ll let all my family and friends know to never come back. I rated 4 stars because the server, service, and great food with little waiting time.

I remember the glory days of Prime Cut with they were located on Stockdale… then…they took a HUGE nose dive… glad they’re on a comeback. I recently visited Prime Cut for a birthday«karaōke» gathering and was little leery of ordering. I kept it simple… BLT without the tomato — because if you think about it, who can screw up a bacon sandwich? I was not disappointed. The bacon slices on the BLT were thick cuts and were cooked perfectly. The fries that accompanied my «sammy» were just as good. Next time I venture to Prime Cut, I’ll order something else… hopefully, with the changes they’re making, they can attack a new clientele and bring back their old clients too.

Who buys steaks as a anniversary gift? Me! I went in just before close(early, 5pm) and grabbed a couple of NY strip steaks. It set me back $ 28. Not cheap, I knew it would not be. Are they healthier than say, Walmart steaks? I have no idea. I tried to ask the male working where the meat was from and he had no idea. I hope they would be… They froze well(almost a crime to freeze butcher meat but we got busy) and they cooked up very nicely on our BBQ. it was the first red meat my husband had had in weeks so he REALLY loved his steak. May come back, very open to try somewhere else. I see the reviews for the restaurant are not that great. A shame, it looks very nice from the outside.
