Love this lil place first time there I got the tri tip sandwich and the sweet potato fries omg so delicious second trip I had a loaded tuna salad on a croissant with sweet potato fries topped with honey

Service was very friendly and very quick. I ordered a chicken salad sandwich (got it grilled) and it was delicious! Will definitely return to try the rest of the menu.

Another delicious lunch, Union Station never disappoints. I have tried something new every time I go, I am slowly making my way through all of Heather’s delicious creations! Today I had the Cowboy Salad and sweet potato fries. The salad is so unique… corn, black beans, avocado, tomato, Fritos, pulled pork and drizzled with bbq and chipotle ranch dressing. Nothing quite like it in town and the portion is very generous. The sweet potato fries are drizzled with honey and are the best I’ve ever had, yes… better than even Moo Creamery!
I highly recommend dining here… friendly service and delicious, fresh locally sourced ingredients makes this a great lunch spot!

Okay so my awesome friend posted about this place yesterday and ofcourse i took her advice and went in today!!! Lets start with hospitality Heather the owner was there and talked us thru the menu and gave us details! Then our food came out quickly. And then she checked up on us! Can you say wow! Now lets talk food okay caramelized walnuts were amazing on my bacon and bleu salad the whole salad was just sooo good perfect amount of dressing! And a half salad was more like a whole! The bread my half tuna was on was so good I wish I could have taken the whole loaf home!!! And the potato soup. Well lets just say I could have only had that and would have been in Heaven! This place is perfect spot for lunch and I will most defiantly be back over and over again! If you haven’t tried it yet your missing out!

If you guys haven’t tried this place lately, I highly recommend it! It’s under new ownership and the food is healthy and fresh. I talked to the girl up front, she said they locally source as much as they can and they make the sauces themselves. The Cowboy Tacos are my favorite! My husband had the Sweet potato fries yesterday and they were Yummy! I hadn’t been there in a few years, but I can tell it’s going to be my new favorite.
I see a Food Coma in my future.

Went in for a cold roast beef sandwich. Maybe I just caught them on a bad day. Bread was stale to the point of being inedible. Roast beef was dry and crumbly. And to top it all off there was a hair in my sandwich. Lovely. I got the order to go, so I was not able to point all this out in person. Sadly I don’t think I can bring myself to go back. YMMV.

My office orders frequently for lunch delivery. A-​MAZING! Staff if always friendly when ordering on phone and during delivery, online ordering very convenient. We’ve had possibly half the menu. Favorites are Cowboy Salad and TriTip melt! Special orders/​requests? No problem, they’ve not made mistake once.

Union Station is so much better under the new ownership! They have taken the much loved favorites on the old menu and revamped them to be much more flavorful. I also like how they have changed the plating style of the dishes, seems as if all the sandwiches are served on wooden boards now instead of those little red baskets. Small differences like that really do make the entire meal much more enjoyable!
I had the French dip sandwich and my friend had the tri tip melt. Both were delicious but my friend couldn’t stop raving about his sandwich. I’ve also had the tuna melt and that is delicious as well. Buttery bread for days!
As a bonus, they even serve beer and wine now as well!

This was my first time here and I really liked everything about it. The restaurant itself was very clean and the menu was simple with a good selection of healthy choices. I had the pastrami sandwich and it was killer.
Highly recommended lunch spot in the downtown area.

My words will not do this 5-​star nugget of deliciousness justice, but I shall try. I was lucky enough to sample some of Heather’s (the driven & professional talent behind Union Station Deli) creations at a Unilocal event earlier this year. It was just enough to entice my other half and me to come visit again.
Today was that glorious day! Heather recognized us when we walked in, which is always special to me. An owner who knows faces is an owner who knows what her people want. She gave us her favorite recommendations and even used it as a training opportunity for one of her cashiers. Kudos!
Our lunch of the hot pastrami melt and the tri-​tip sandwich were… bomb! The flavors Heather has created are nothing short of gourmet for the price of a standard meal. The potato salad was simple, but I liked it! I do NOT like the sweetness of a store bought potato salad and this was nothing like that!
I could go on, but you just need to come on over, enjoy an afternoon adult beverage if you’re inclined (and not on your work lunch break like I was!) and be amazed.

Definitely one of the better sandwich places in town. I love the roast beef and the cookies! Heather is amazing and really engaged with the community.

Finally!!! Some place to get a great salad with real dressing. (Am I the only one who can’t stand that «fat free» chemical monstrosity that most places try to pass off as dressing?) Tried the bacon and bleu and it was wonderful. Can’t wait to go back and try every salad on the menu. Sweet potato fries were great as were hubby’s onion rings. The food is obviously fresh and the menu is ripe with possibilities. As a bonus the post office across the street had no line so here is my new plan; every time I need to post anything I’m headed here for lunch!

Ask anyone who knows me well and they will tell you I love sandwiches as much as I love fried chicken. Union Station Deli is now on my list of places to visit when I want or need an amazing sandwich. After attending the Unilocal Event here one evening, I couldn’t wait to tell some of my co-​workers about this great place as they do love sandwiches too.
I can say I honestly did not know Union Station Deli existed until the event so when I sampled their offerings I knew I would come back to explore their menu and I did. I ordered the Grilled Pulled Pork Cuban Sandwich and wanted to go with making a combo of adding a small side salad and drink for an additional cost. When i requested this, Heather (owner) told me I had the option to choose one of their regular salads. Of course I chose the Bacon & Blue Salad!
Grilled Pulled Pork Cuban — This badboy is deserving of 5 Stars, no doubt about it. It was on such a soft Pyrenees Hoagie roll which was grilled. Besides the pulled pork it had, baked ham, swiss & provolone, dill pickles, grey poupon mustard and I added coleslaw. Ah simply divine and I devoured it too.
Bacon & Blue Salad — Yet another 5 Star rating from me as I am thoroughly enjoyed this fresh and crisp salad that is enhanced with a citrus white balsamic vinaigrette, candied walnuts, chicken and bacon. But then you add another layer of savory items like crumbled bleu cheese, avocado and red & green onion finished off with dried cranberries. It really makes your heart, soul and stomach very happy and content.
I truly wish Union Station Deli was closer to both home and work, cause on Wednesdays I definitely want to visit for that Organic Potato & Leek soup. Heather, you have put together some great food using local produce and much more. If you are in the vicinity, maybe even just perusing Unilocal for a great lunch, do yourself a favor and visit Union Station Deli, you will definitely appreciate it and so will your stomach.

The service here at union station is sooo awesome. I don’t mind parking across the street just to get welcomed by a wonderful staff and order the delicious bacon and bleu salad. Everything is fresh and tasty, i actually brag about my lunch to everyone at work afterwards. I brought one of my vendors here today and my boss’ assistant was picking up an order for everyone at the office! See what I started! Good job to the staff and great food always!

Heather (owner, chef, order-​taker and overall awesome gal) is more than deserving of 5 stars. She’s completely transformed Union Station into a mecca for deliciously fresh and healthy foods. Yes, you can still get your good olé burgers and fries, but her recent addition to the menu rivals that of metropolitan café’s.
If you order anything, take a gander at her amazing list of salads. That warm spinach salad is so simple, yet perfect for lunch. Topped with freshly cooked chicken you’ll wonder why other restaurant’s salads don’t taste so good!
Don’t pass up those cookies. Seriously. I’m not one to buy a single cookie, but a girl can change her habits! Especially if it’s a lemon lace cookie. The cookie was moist with the perfect balance of sweet and tartness. Something so delicious is impossible to put into words!
There’s so much cool stuff going on here between Paint Nites, catering options, and menu transformations and seasonal options, I’m excited to see what Heather has around the corner.
Thank goodness a local restaurant has capitalized on our areas plethora of deliciously grown produce. That Farm to Table concept is perfect for our area, and Union Station does it right!

I ordered a turkey sandwich on wheat bread and it was extremely dry. The bread was so dry that it fell apart as soon as I touched it. My husband’s sandwich was also dry. The bread really ruined the sandwich for me.

Bakersfield, if you’re not eating here at least once a week for lunch then you’re missing out. Creative lunch specials, quality food and great service. This is a home-​grown restaurant that continues to impress. Walk away full and ready to take on the rest of today.
Heather was born to cook and now we are all benefiting from her talents and creativity. Definitely take my word but you MUST try this place out ASAP!

It’s a small unassuming place located right across the street from the post office. It has a cute concept for the parking which is designed like a stop at the gas station. Outside, you’ll also find a pink pig smoker which smells divine if you’re a meat lover.
Which brings us to the tri-​tip. That sandwich is delicious. The meat is soft and flavorful. I’ve really enjoyed the items I’ve gotten. The Cowboy salad combines two different salad dressings (one is BBQ) along with corn chips and tri tip. It’s a tasty unique salad that you don’t find everywhere.
On a cold day, the three cheese grilled sandwich can’t be beat. It brings back childhood memories but with a mature twist. Get it with grilled tomatoes and bacon for even more delish.
PS There was an instance where they were completely swamped at the lunch hour so I now call ahead to get an idea of the wait.
