This is my favorite little place in town. The food is always fresh and people are very nice and sweet. Love it!!!

Ordered take out from Toyo. This is a tiny place in the middle of a little plaza. I wasn’t there for long as I was just picking up my food, but it definitely felt cozy and intimate inside. I ordered a couple of Maki rolls(Alaskan & New York roll) and a specialty roll(007 roll). The sushi was really tasty and fresh, but I just didn’t feel satisfied. The rolls were on the small side(considering the prices) and I think there could have been more rice. Especially considering the $ 11 specialty roll — it needed to be more. Placing my order was a breeze and I didn’t have to wait long. The lady working the front was very nice. I will dine in the next time I come here and try some of their other dishes.

This is probably one of the best sushi places in the area. I’ve been ordering food from this location for over 10 years, having lived and worked nearby. The food is always fresh as can be, though if you order delivery it can be a little slow. They have one of the best Kani Salads I’ve ever had, you can request your personal level of spicy also. The rolls are always beautiful and delicious, whether you order fish, chicken, or vegetable rolls. My only concern is that the prices have gone up several times over the past few years, but I guess if they’re the best then they’re entitled to do that. I will keep coming back here again and again.

Haven’t had the sushi here. But the California rolls, beef nagamaki and tempura is good. The restaurant is clean and their delivery is consistent.

Japanese take out done right. Been coming here for years. The sushi is always fresh and anything I’ve ordered has been delicious. The restaurant itself is small but who cares? The food is always spot on. My favorite roll is the J&S roll. Glad this place is in Baldwin.

Toyo is right around the corner from my office. We kind of have a tradition of «Sushi Fridays» and we either pick up from Toyo or order from nearby Masago. Toyo does have decent sushi. I normally get a 3 roll lunch special — spicy tuna, spicy salmon and salmon & avocado rolls. The sushi has ALWAYS been fresh and flavorful. They do not charge for a side of spicy mayo which is a plus, however overall there isn’t really any real«value» deals that Toyo offers, and I’m pretty sure once more people catch on that Masago will slaughter them in this respect. When a competitor has the same quality sushi and ½ the price… well you can figure it out.

I would give this place 3.5 stars. Its a decent sushi spot. I came here a few times. Tonight I stopped by after my gym and got 3 rolls and miso soup. The soup was good but I had better. I got the Spicy Tuna Roll, Alaska Roll and the Star Roll. I really enjoyed the Spicy Tuna Roll. It had a nice little kick to it. The Alaska Roll was ok but I probably wouldn’t get that again. Their Star Roll came with tuna, salmon, white fish, avocado & tobiko. With all those items the roll was just OK. It was missing some more flavor. Maybe eel sauce or something. I’ve tried some of their special rolls before and that was pretty good.

Love this place! This place may not be ritzy but it has fresh food, and great service. Never been disappointed. The fact that its been owned by the same people for the past few years speaks for itself. Give it a try you won’t be disappointed.

I was a little apprehensive to order after reading some of the reviews, but I’m glad I did. Delivery at 6 pm on a Saturday night took exactly half an hour as stated. And the delivery man had no trouble finding my apartment, which is often difficult. The food was better than expected(ordered maki rolls). Fresh, nicely arranged, and decent quantity. Next time, I need to ask for extra soy sauce.

It’s not amazing sushi, there are better choice on LI if you are willing to drive 15 minutes but for the location, it’s fine. I liked how someone else described it, «good clean sushi». It’s fine and it’s inexpensive. However, my last visit there upped my review a star. My family of 3 got the sushi and sashimi combo for 2, and they out-did themselves. The plating looked beautiful and everything was very fresh, also it was a massive plate(too much food for the 3 of us to finish). Again, if you want convenient sushi, go here but if you are looking for real deal sushi on LI, go to long beach.

if you find this to have any more than one star, then it’s time to do some sushi experimenting. not that it’s vomit-inducing or anything, but compared to what is out there it is in no way any comparison what so ever. bottom of the totem pole. if you need your quick sushi fix and don’t have time to leave baldwin, then sure, go for it, it’s close and it’ll do the trick. if you can drive 12 minutes go to nagahama in long beach you will be changed. ATLEAST go to taiko in rockville centre.

A tiny, decent sushi place in the neighborhood. As mentioned below, it only has a few tables and a place by the sushi bar. The sushi is fresh and delicious. The other menu items come from the back kitchen, so I don’t know who is making them, but they are not even worth ordering. The staff is nice, but not friendly. The prices are standard. Overall, this is your best bet for a sushi craving in the immediate area!

Oh, Toyo, our torrid love affair. I left you for Bonito on the nautical mile some months back. But they were not delivering, and in a moment of reckless passion I clung to you. Frankly, darling, you fucked me over, with your change of recipe, and your delivery scam. How dare you purport not to arm your drivers with change of a $ 20. Bitch.

I suspect we’ve eaten at Toyo a few times because of it’s location and not necessarily its spectacular food(*cough* lazy boyfriend). Don’t get me wrong, the sushi is good and tastes fresh, but I’ve not been really impressed with anything else. The tofu teriyaki is alright, if a bit salty. My biggest disappointment was the miso soup– it’s «blah» to say to least. The only things in the soup were some sad pieces of tofu with a bit of seaweed. Miso soup can be amazingly tasty if done right– it just feels like they went with something waaaay less than that. The staff is friendly, though there is minimal seating– only about seven tables in the front area with a small sushi bar. We always call in orders for pick up, so I can’t comment on the table service, but the staff is always smiley.
