Look past the outside and location of this place — Good sushi inside.
I ordered takeout from Azuma tonight. Placing the order on the phone was seamless. The lady on the phone was friendly and even honored a 20% coupon that I mentioned from their website.
The sushi was fresh and tasty. I have to make mention of the Cajun Tuna: it was *awesome*. It really packed a punch of flavor and I strongly recommend it!
I think this is going to be my go-​to from now — the prices are fair, the food is quality and it’s convenient.

A-​OK. Yes. Maybe? I ordered the sushi/​sashimi lunch special for delivery, along with a hot and sour soup. It showed up promptly, delivery guy got a bit lost but we worked through it. Yay team work!
So I had the soup, it was okay. Not A-​OK, but okay. Not much kick to it, I thought it would be spicier.
The lunch special came with salmon, yellowtail, tuna and I believe mackerel. Also included was a California roll.
One of those place you just DON’T get sashimi from. Or sushi. Just stick with the rolls. Maybe it’s different dining at the restaurant, but all of my fish was chewy and I couldn’t really do that thing where I suck it up and finish it. Unfortunately ended up sending the fish back to the ocean. That’s my nice way of saying it’s at the bottom of the wastebasket next to my desk.
They did give me some cantaloupe on the house though! So that was nice.

I am a vegetarian and never was a fan of sushi so I decided to go in for some vegetable tempura to-​go. I got it, after a not so pleasant encounter from the counter clerk who seemed annoyed at the fact that I asked one question to which she barely answered while looking at something on her phone. Overall the vegetable tempura was good but it wasn’t enough for $ 7.60 especially since I’m pretty sure it usually comes with that amount and some shrimp or chicken. Throwing in a few more fried sliced vegetables would not have hurt anyone. I don’t know if I’ll be going back, seems a bit overpriced for me.

I ordered Thai Spring Rolls, Scorpion Roll, and Tuna Avocado roll for delivery tonight (Saturday). The food wasn’t hot on arrival, but it was still really good. The maki are fat, the Scorpion was gigantic, and the spring rolls are big. Will order again for sure when they aren’t as busy as a weekend. I was used to getting cheap Chinese in Freeport. Really glad I found Azuma.

I’ve dined in and had take out from this place. It has such a nice ambience and the staff here is wonderful! I usually order sushi from here and it’s always fresh. The plum wine is also amazing! Overall, this is a wonderful place to come with friends, family, coworkers etc.

Decided to cheat on my sushi spot for a day and ordered delivery from Azuma… I really wanted to try some of the special rolls, but went with something simple instead. I ordered a sesame chicken entrée and a shrimp tempura roll. What I enjoyed about the chicken was it was all white meat and it tasted fresh. It could’ve been crispier, and the sesame seeds got lost in the sauce, but at least it tasted good. I don’t really get the rice that comes with it. It can do without the onion. The shrimp tempura roll was delicious. I really liked their homemade ice tea… Wish it came in a bigger size. The delivery time was an impressive 20 min. NICE! Overall, a good meal and thanks to GrubHub, a good deal as well.

Great homey sushi place. I had supper delicious mango scallops lobster rolls and the chief is supper creative also: D the rolls were soooo yummy yet refreshing hahah also it has free wifi in case you just wanted to save some data plan

The food was good I get my regular crab Rangoon from any Chinese/​Japanese restaurant cause it just taste so good and I am hooked.
When I order the food it was with a sesame chicken and etc.
The delivery driver took forever and when he came he said he need a tip to pay for his gas. I personally think that should never be said and that’s not how you go about tips.
Other than that the sauce is AMAZING and the crab Rangoon better than no other. I ate it all before taking pics I will update when i re-​order lol.

These guys are great! Soooooo many different rolls, great combinations, I’ve never been disappointed with any order.
The woman at the front desk is always so nice. If you’re looking for good sushi around Freeport, don’t bother with Sarku, still with Azuma.

I love ordering sushi from this place! Their sushi is consistently fresh and flavorful. They have great customer service and they usually offer discounts for orders. If you’re in the area and are looking for great sushi, this is the place!

I’ve only ordered for delivery from this restaurant, so I cannot comment on the interior at all.
However, their prices seem a little bit inflated compared to other sushi restaurants in the area. I’ve ordered the Kani Salad more than once from here, but it is just a bunch of imitation crab strips dumped into a container, a few slices of cucumber, and a ton of panko dumped on the top. WHAT? There’s no spicy mayo, no tobiko, and they aren’t using real crab. You can taste the difference, ESPECIALLY without the spicy mayo on it. Gross.
Sweet potato rolls were just okay. Chicken tempura rolls tasted like something wasn’t right. AAC rolls, asparagus was very tough. Cucumber rolls were bitter. Why?!?
Really thankful I haven’t ordered any fish from here because I’d be very nervous about the freshness of it since all of their vegetables seem a little off…
Get it together or you won’t last much longer in this location.

I ordered the $ 11 chicken teriyaki lunch special, plus the $ 4 spring rolls (to make the $ 15 minimum delivery order). Thank goodness I did, because the spring rolls were the only things I could eat. The chicken was rubbery and a little translucent (?!), with a too-​thick, too-​salty teriyaki «sauce» globbed on top. The vegetables underneath were fine, I guess, plus the shu mai — but the California Roll was gross and bland, and the dipping sauce was too intensely salty. The only part that I finished was the spring rolls, I threw the rest away.
Unilocal’s description of the 2 star rating is spot-​on «Meh. I’ve experienced better.»

I ordered takeout and was extremely disappointed after trying out this local spot. For $ 18 I barely got anything that I enjoyed eating. I ordered the chicken teriyaki bento box for dinner. The only thing that was somewhat decent were the california rolls. The fried veggies were gross. The soup was more bland than ever. The salad was decent. Everything else was inedible.

Unfortunately, the place was empty except for my party at 6:30pm on a saturday night… I think that says it all.
There was one waitress who was on her phone when we weren’t trying to get her attention. The atmosphere is nice and the food was great. The service could be better… the location is this business’ detriment.

Picked my meal up.
Had the 3 rolls and salad combination, came to $ 17 which is not bad at all. Salad was good with the ginger dressing.
I ordered the yellowtail jalapeño, spicy yellowtail, and spicy tuna. Everything was fresh. No over abundance of rice. I like that they take the seeds out of the jalapeño so it wasn’t insanely spicy but still very crunchy.
I would return to trying not so generic things. But overall a good experience.

Everytime I eat here it’s nothing but delicious fresh tasty food! I had their sushi for two special which was phenomenal. 16 pieces of sushi and two different rolls with both miso and a salad. The chefs are always smiling, and the staff is amazing whether your dining there or taking out. They have specials all the time! Love this place. It’s a hidden gem! You will love it too!

Always a great meal. Been here at least ½ a dozen times and never a fail.
From apps to dinner to even their homemade sweet ice tea everything is tasty and great portions.
Plus even without bringing their online website discount coupon the owner gives it to us automatically.
Great customer service at a small Japanese gem in the heart of Freeport.

My go to sushi spot. They have an Azuma in Huntington that I love. So I knew this would be great.
They always have great deals and I don’t ask any questions!
I ordered a Volcano Roll $ 13 and Spicy Tuna $ 5.50 and a Kano Roll $ 5 and my bill came to $ 20 even. I’ll take it.
Always so fresh and made to order. Yet never a long wait.
Can’t wait to dig in
