I usually get the sushi and sashimi lunch combo. So much fish, worth the price. The cuts of fish are sloppy. The soups are disappointing but for the amount of fish and price it’s def worth it! Staff is nice and the inside of the restaurant is well maintained.

Food 2⁄5 Service 3⁄5 Ambiance 3⁄5 Overpriced sushi, really nothing special at all. Décor is nice but the same as every other japanese restaurant these days. Not worth stopping by there are better spots in the area.

First time doing take out, they didn’t take too long and once delivered the sushi was still fresh! We got two seaweed salads and 4 rolls. We’ve gone here for dinner many times for girls night out and I love their drinks. Definitely recommend for dinner in the restaurant or take out!

I wish I could give a 6+ star review! Xaga is my go-to place for sushi. Best sushi around. Love the special rolls, regular rolls, ala carte sushi, appetizers, kitchen items, etc. Please open a location on the North Shore(preferably Glen Cove area!!).

Great Sushi Minutes from the Meadowbrook! Xaga has a good ambiance — rather lively for a sushi place. The staff was great, service excellent. Prices are a bit high in comparison to other Long Island Asian restaurants, but then it presents as more upscale, and the cost isn’t really that much higher. But the sushi — excellent! Of course, the fish is great, but if it isn’t you really shouldn’t be eating sushi in the first place. It’s served at a really nice temperature — neither warm(eww) nor cold. The rolls are creative and beautifully presented. The standard rolls are a good size, but the special rolls are large. From what I could see — who wanted to look up? — the non-sushi food was also very good. Reports were that it was very tasty.

I’ve eaten here many times since this restaurant opened, both take out and dine in. The ambiance of the restaurant is very nice. The décor is beautiful, though in the evenings the lighting is a little bit dim for my taste. The prices are a little bit higher than other similar places in the area, but the food is exquisite. I’ve never eaten anything I didn’t like and I change it up quite a bit. The Xaga-tini is absolutely delicious if you’re having a drink with lunch or dinner. Quiet enough during the day to have a nice lunch with a friend and want to chat it up. Busy enough at dinner time to not be creepy. I will be back, of course.

Love this place, good quality of fish and fresh ingredients, staff is pleasant although I hate having people watch over me as I eat. I usually get the Merrick roll which has lobster and tuna, the Bill roll is also tasty. Place gets crowded quick, especially on the weekends. Happy hour serves $ 3 beer and wine along with some cheap appetizers.

BESTSUSHIIVEEVERHAD. I’ve been coming to Xaga for years. Never have I had anything bad to say. First off, the décor is beautiful and unique. They are super clean and it doesn’t smell of fish or anything that would make you lose your appetite. It’s not that pricey, you’ll pay this price anywhere. They have a wide variety of sushi and ingredients, things you’ve never even heard of. Their Merrick Roll is great with spicy tuna and chunks of mango, so refreshing. The spicy tuna/salmon with crunch is amazing. Honestly I would go on for days, you should really go and try it. Their miso soup is great.(Who really messes up miso soup though.) You must try the Kani salad, by far the BEST I’ve ever had anywhere to date. And this girl eats a lot of Kani salad. I’ve also had their salon which was cooked to perfection, I usually just order the sushi though. Usually, you’ll get full off of 2 rolls or 1 specialty roll. It’s a cute experience coming here. You won’t regret it.

I’m not a sushi person, So we ordered Hot Apps & Dinner for 4. Food was really good but… I don’t like being rushed when I dine. Servers & staff hovering over us all night. Looking to turn tables. Very rushed and uncomfortable dining experience. Not a fan

This is my absolute favorite sushi restaurant and I wish it was in queens instead! I always order the lobster mango salad… it has a little spice to it however i love it. I ordered a few sushi dishes which were all so good and I also ordered the seafood or maybe a chicken udon noodle which we all enjoyed. The décor is very nice and the place is very clean. We didnt wait online when we came in. The staff is very nice and attentive. I wouldn’t order any thai food here however… the 1st time I came here it wasn’t good at all.

The restaurant has a modern décor and club like feel to the restaurant. The service is a little, but luckily there were no errors on my large takeout order. The quality of the sushi is good too; I have no complaints regarding the food. Outside of the lunch special, the prices are very high. Personally, I’d rather drive to Ginza in Massapequa or one of the Kashi’s locations if I intend to spend $ 40+ per person.

I’ve noticed some mixed reviews about Xaga on Unilocal, but in my opinion this restaurant is excellent. I’ve ordered take out from Xaga probably 10+ times and I’ve dined in on multiple occasions and the quality and taste of the food as well as, the service are always on point. I don’t have many recommendations beyond the lunch special because it’s an awesome deal and you can get 2 rolls for like 10 bucks, which is a steal. Ordinarily, Xaga can be a bit pricey, but that’s sushi for you. My only complaint with Xaga is the restaurant is quite modern to the point where its bordering on tacky. Everything from the lighting to the top-40 music that always playing, it’s just not my style, but the food and cleanliness always keep me coming back. If I had to make one suggestion it be the Homemade Shrimp Wonton Soup. This is the sleeper of the menu. It was absolutely delicious.

Great lunch deal! 10 $ for 2 rolls which are very large compared to most other restaurants, a large soup(miso or hot and sour) and a salad. All the food is served on very nice large plates which adds to the experience. You never feel like you are there eating a «lunch special» The food is great quality, the staff were all very nice, and overall a great bet for a good sushi experience. I’ve also had dinner here and the specialty rolls are delicious, all of them.

One of the more reliable Japanese restaurants in this neck of the woods. They don’t skimp on portion size either. Their Chilean sea bass with orange miso sauce is delicious and comes with a unique black coconut rice(albeit it’s a little too sweet for me). Bento boxes come with fried shumai, a roll, and some tempura that are really good. I’d say stick with the Japanese stuff and avoid their«Asian Fusion» items like the sesame chicken.

My wife and I dined here when this restaurant first opened and we thought it was decent. By the way, we are both sushi nuts! The only complaint we had back then was the sushi rice wasn’t cooked properly(the rice was way undercooked). We recently ordered a catering platter and were disappointed. The quality of the fish seemed average. They used way to much«crunchy» in a lot of the rolls, which made them greasy and unappetizing. Most of the rolls in our platter were lacking in one way or another. Two of the rolls were ok. The fried roll with the spicy tuna was absolutely disgusting! The one good thing that I will say about the platter is that it looked nice. I most likely will not be returning here. If you are going to this restaurant for sushi I recommend that you ask for no «crunchy» in your rolls, it should help make things better. This is really a 2 ½ star review.
