Your standard office supply store with a service center for printing /​copies. The store itself looks a bit dated (grey and white linoleum floors) but there were plenty of associates around on this Sunday afternoon to help with questions. The self copying machine was confusing to use in terms of printing the receipt for how many copies we made, had to get an associate and they didn’t know either. We ended up just estimating how many copies we made.

What happened to companies caring about the consumer? I’m by no means a right wing conservative but what happened in the last 25 years? These days it’s buyer beware, always. Companies love the higher profit margin at the end of the year from outsourcing everything to China but they wont back up the cheap products when they stop working.
EXCEPT FOR COSTCO. I will never buy anything electronic from office max/​depot again and just drive the extra 20 minutes to Costco because rather than deal with the idiot today at office max, costco would have had me out the door with a new paper shredder in less the time that I spent to get no where at office max.
My free, $ 30 paper shredder I had for 8 years crapped out last december so I went to office max and spent $ 100 on a new one. Light use, home office. Well, it stopped working last month, 10 months after I got it. Had a 1 year limited warrenty (which means absolutely jack to office depot). The guy I dealt with today, all he wanted to do was tell me I was out of luck. No help, no nothing, get me out the door it was my problem, out of luck.
Then when I looked online it said they had them in stock but only online. So I went back in and showed him that they had them in stock online. He wouldn’t order one and let me return it because that’s not office depot policy.
He said I had to call Nuova, the shredder brand and deal with them, which neither one of us could find online. It only showed the office depot site that had them.
I could go on and on like the Unilocalers on South Park eating boogers and cum but I’ll end it here.
DONT BUY FROM OFFICE DEPOT/​MAX BECAUSE THEY WONT BACK UP THE CRAP THEY SELL. ONLY BUY FROM COSTCO. IF YOUR CHINA MADE CRAP STOPS WORKING AT LEAST COSTCO WILL NOT MAKE IT A HASSLE FOR THE CONSUMER.

Up until today my review would have been 4 stars. However, today this store lost me as a customer. I received an email letting me know that I had reward points that were going to expire, almost $ 20! Who doesn’t love being rewarded for being a good customer? I picked out my items only to find out at the register that I had to print a coupon from my account to receive the credit. No big deal, I thought. A minor nuisance in the day of instant gratification apps. The next 20 minutes of my life were some of the most frustration minutes I have experienced. It is true, customer service is dead. One worker tried to help me logon to the website only to fail and have to call Cameron, the manager to help. With dumbfounded looks and shrugged shoulders I was told there was nothing they could do. The customer service phone line was closed until tomorrow and I was told that «the website just doesn’t work very well sometimes. Come back tomorrow after you talk to customer service» I understand that sometimes our hands are tied in regard to corporate policies but at least try to PRETEND that you give a shit that I can’t access my points and have just wasted precious time. Honestly, he could not have had less helpful affect during the entire exchange! I left the store very frustrated and without all of my products that I had picked out. The store manager of another store was able to help me in minutes overe the phone and finally I was able to redeem my points. He understood the frustration and happily tried to help rather than acting like I was inconveniencing his work day by actually requiring him to WORK!

DO NOT ORDER PRINTS ONLINE AND EXPECT TO PICK THEM UP AT THE STORE THE NEXT DAY! It’s a printing company, but they won’t print your online order there! They print them in Kent and then they ship it to ballard! I went in expecting to pick up my prints (standard paper, black and white nothing special) and they said they wouldn’t be in until later in the day. By the way no time or tracking info. Or any information at all that it was being shipped to the store and not printed at the one I picked them up at. So I e mailed/​forwarded my attachments to there personal e mail and they printed my pages out there in about 2 minutes. But still made me pay for them. They said I had to call and cancell but they don’t have the phone number to where it was being printed at!!! So I called 800 office max (BIG MISTAKE) I got transferred 3 times, hung up on, given a number that didn’t work anymore and finally, FINALLY a lady was able to help me, but even then they have to call me back and confirm! The only person who was a huge help that actually solved it for me was this awesome lady in Des Moines at another office max who was able to get ahold of someone. What a messed up system!!!

Went back and had the pleasure of meeting a different print associate whom was much friendlier & helpful. I want to put the name of the associate you do not want to work with … But I won’t. Just beware of the printing department and whose working :)

I have continued checking out their laptops and bought one. I got personal friendly help. Then I had a big goof up on my end understanding about email. grrr. when will I become a techi! I got very straightforward answers. I had also bout a premium set up so I get tech support. which I m going to need. I can make kindergarten kids line up but not understand why software s not hardware or some nonsense. They must take more calming yoga than I. Major KUDOS to Jason and Cameron.

The copy center is great, turn around is amazing and they are always very helpful. I have never had a bad experience! Thanks guys, as a professional graphic designer, its always nice to have people take the small jobs seriously.

I called to see if they had a specific brand of dry erasable markers, Vis a Vis. The woman I spoke to put it aside for me with my name on it so it was ready for purchase when I got there. Now THAT’S customer service! I’m very appreciative. Thanks, OfficeMax!

The people at the print center are THE BEST

I visit this OfficeMax when I need ink or paper. Recently, I used their printing services. This is what I think:

It’s an office store that meets my expectations, so I couldn’t think of any cons.

I just found another reason to love living near this Office Max, and her name is Marci. I had my computer cleaned up, tuned up, and sped up by Marci today, and not only was she efficient, but also funny, and full of useful suggestions and advice. Not once did she try to sell me anything at all, though the service is free. And that’s how I spell A-​W-​E-​S-​O-​M-​E!

This Office Max is, well, what you’d expect — they have the stuff you need an Office Max for and the people roaming the aisles seem nice and relatively helpful. BUT WOE UNTO YOU if you need the printshop for anything. It’s always a total mess, there’s usually only one person back there and he is generally surly, impatient and somehow unable to do the simple thing you ask for. I finally reached my patience limit today and will go out of my way to avoid ever having to step foot in this place again.

This place needs to remodel the exterior and interior. It just looks gloomy. I saw no employee other than one cashier. I went there to buy a chair the cashier who seemed like an airhead was pushy about an extended warranty on the chair. I told her I dont need it and yet she kept going on about the extended warranty «It’s only 5 dollars.» The experience I had at this Office Max made me not want to come back ever.

This OfficeMax is clean, bright, and there always seem to be folks available to help you find the things you can’t find on the shelves.
It is RARE for me to actually walk into an office supply store anymore (that’s what Amazon is for, right?) but when I do need to, this OfficeMax is where I come.

There are a few people here who give good customer service. Unfortunately the majority of cashiers tend to be sour, not too quick and at times curt and rude.
I will continue going here because of the proximity to where I live. But I wish I didn’t have to.
They need some customer service training.

I have gone to this location for printing services twice. Both times I was under a pretty impossible deadline. Addison, in printing service, provided EXCELLENT customer service, stayed patient with me and did everything to accommodate my schedule and needs.
I highly recommend this location and print service.

If I’m in need for office supplies in Ballard, I’ll hop on over to this location and grab what I need. The employees have always been friendly and easily accessible. When they become slammed at the registers, no one seems to be concerned with opening another checkstand. I’d say that’s my only complaint. There’s ample parking and the prices are sound. If you seek office goods at a fair price, you won’t be disappointed here.

I do like this place. It has everything I need from an office store. Gary, the manager, had a tough issue with one of my returns and it could have been really difficult, but he made it a smooth transaction. Kudos to him and the employee who brought the issue to his attention.
I’ve come here for years to get paper, ink, school supplies, and other random office stuff. The prices are fair, and most everything is great. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because the OfficeMax brand ink doesn’t last so long like the HP brand for me. And because they don’t refill their own, it seems, although i could swear when the last sales guy tried to get me to switch to the non-​name brand he said they did. I could swear it. Anyhow, so I bought it, and when I came for a refill… DENIED.
I’ll just stick to HP, but that means back to Costco for better pricing. At least I can get refills though at OfficeMax where the employees are cool! These guys can whip out a copy job like nobody’s business!
I recommend OfficeMax for all your office supplies.

This Office Max location is pretty decent. I go here periodically for work and pretty much always find what I’m looking for.
Service is usually pretty friendly. The staff always seems to let you do your own thing before asking if you need help finding anything, which I really appreciate. The only downside is that if there’s a long line, it moves quite slowly and no other cashiers ever open up new lanes, even if there are plenty of employees wandering around.
There’s always plenty of parking, which is a bonus.
Prices seem a bit high in comparison to a lot of the items we buy from Office Depot, but since we go to Office Max to find the things we can’t find at Office Depot, there’s not much we can do about it!
