Visiting family from Texas. The décor is sort of southern. .nothing else was. no brisket? ??? Potato salad was inedible. Beef pork combo was tasteless. Saying southern style and being southern style is the problem here. I guess stlouis folks are used to mediocrity. Kansas City still rules. Good points. friendly and had good sweet tea. Would have given one star. but it was sad not horrible. So, retry some smoking techniques. Thanks y’all

I confess I am not an expert in BBQ. To me, this place was tasty. For $ 10, I got the 1⁄3 ribs(about 4 ribs) with 2 large sides and 2 even large pieces of garlic bread. The ribs were tasty, sauce was delicious, and the sides were very good. The kids meals were even more affordable. For $ 5, my child got 2 ribs, 2 large sides, and garlic bread. They had about 5 – 6 bottles of different BBQ sauce to choose from. Service was friendly. The only thing I’d ask for next time is spicier sauce. Their spicy one was good, but not spicy enough.

Always very friendly and attentive staff, regardless of the time of day! The pulled pork sandwich is fantastic! However, I think the sweet corn and green beans are canned :(Also, the ribs are not very good. They’re fatty and not very tasty. They do have 4 delicious types of barbeque sauce. My favorites are Chicago Sweet and Sweet and Smokey. Would definitely return and recommend.

I give this a 5. Bandana’s is what it is; and as long as you know that going into it, you’ll have a darn tasty meal. I had the dinner sized pork, fries, baked beans, and bread, It was fine.

Ok, I’m usually the #1 guy who rips on Bandana’s, but I suppose I should set the record straight. It’s definitely not top-notch quality BBQ or the«Best in St. Louis» but it’s certainly not trash. Bandana’s clocks in at a solid«fast food» of BBQ. The flavor is alright and their sauces are great. Sides are good too, and I really do love their Garlic Bread planks. But honestly, the last two times I’ve been there, I have regretted not getting the smoked chicken. Their chicken is delicious and usually(though not always) juicy. But my Brisket and Pork I’ve gotten have been lukewarm to even downright cold. The pricing is not bad, compared to some première BBQ places, but it reflects the food quality. It’s good enough, I suppose, but I will really only ever pick Bandana’s over other BBQ places because of convenience(or if I’m outvoted…) It’s ok, and the service is usually just great, but the meat tends to leave something to be desired.

The worst service tonight that I have ever had at a Bandannas. Do not go here if you expect anything above 1star service. Told the server we were in a hurry, he assured us he would get the order right in.30 minutes later I had to flag him down to find out where our order was. Never once checked on us in 30 minutes, had to take food to go, still got charged for drinks and he didn’t split the checks like we had requested. Thanks Bryan for making sure we won’t be back to this location again and making sure we didn’t get to eat.

Bandana’s visit– ehh. Love pork, love beef, love BBQ. Really stinks when you get overly dry meat when you’re expecting fresh sliced, savory BBQ. On top of which, grillin sides should be awesome; not sure why anyone would put pickle relish in thier potato salad, but they should know it doesn’t mix. On the other hand, the baked beans and garlic bread were quite tasty. Had the meat been fresh sliced, warm out of the smoker, and moist, it would have made a much better meal. Work on that Bandanas… maybe there will be a next time.

Yes, this is a chain but it has become my go-to place for BBQ in the St Louis area. I really enjoy Texas style BBQ vs Kansas City or St Louis style and think this place reflects what I liked about Texas BBQ best. We don’t normally stay and eat but when we do it is usually off normal timings. I mean go before or after lunch or dinner — avoid the rushes. The place is clean, the staff friendly and as chatty as you want to me. We usually get 2 – 3 lbs of Pulled pork to go. We like the variety of sauces offered so everyone at home gets their favorite choice.

I always am happy when leaving a Bandana’s Bar-B Q because I always get so much food for a good price! I love their combo deals where you can have various meats and sides, plus the servers are always very good about keeping your drinks refilled and bringing you any extra sauce in case you use up the container at your table! The pulled-pork is delicious and the ribs are pretty darn good too. I would say that despite being a chain this place still knows how to do BBQ at an excellent level!

My wife and l stopped in Bandana’s on impulse. Just passing through St. Louis from North Indiana our way to Oklahoma, hungry for a good lunch. The first thing was the smoky smell coming in. Good sign. Friendly greeting at the door. Super nice waitress. Great menu with lots of choices. We both chose the pork platter. The food comes dry with no sauce on it, that’s because they are proud of their rub and you can choose your flavor from no less than 6 distinct bottles of bbq sauces sitting on your table. Wonderful idea. Platter comes with 2 large slices of garlic bread and you get to pick 2 sides. There was more than we could eat and our waitress gave us a to-go box and included large packets of whichever sauce we liked. Excellent flavors and service. The restroom was clean on my visit but cleanliness cannot be stressed enough by management in any food venue. l will gladly be a repeat customer whenever l pass through again.

Service was top drawer. Sides were hot but meat was not. The choices for sauce was excellent. Sever made effort to explanation all the choices of sauces and did a excellent job. I would say the best time would be before the dinner hour. You get more hands on service

Not the best BBQ to me since I made the mistake of eating at Central BBQ while passing through Memphis. Good God that was great! Still, for a chain, Bandanas is pretty good and this location has the BEST service of any restaurant I’ve tried recently, BBQ or otherwise.

BBQ is usually very good(for St Louis). Not like Pappy’s of course, but certainly ok for a good lunch. Easy to get in and out. i must like it because I have returned there scores of times over the years. BUT — at this particular location, there is a long-standing problem with the men’s restroom: there is a terrible sewage stench, all the time. It has been present for months, even years. Every time I’ve visited it’s the same. It’s the sort of stench where you hold your breath and try to hurry. I wonder if employees are ever tempted to return to work without washing their hands, to escape the stench? The management must know the men’s room stinks terribly. It is that obvious and that long-standing an issue. I suspect a plumber could easily identify the problem — it might just be a floor drain, where the trap has dried out and sewer fumes escape to the room(reminder: pour a bucket of water in the floor drain every couple of weeks). I would give this location of Bandana’s 4 stars if the men’s room were at least fresh. If they don’t get this fixed, I probably won’t return, and they will deserve 1 star.(p.s. ladies’ room may be ok based on earlier reviews.)

I’m from the south so I have my own ideas about BBQ along with my favourites. I either love Memphis style dry rub or North Carolina style vinegar. Bandana’s provides neither. But then again no other place in STL does so I’ve given up. That said, I gottta say, Bandana’s has the best pulled pork around, if I bring it home and use«imported» sauce, it’s pretty damn good! Now if I could just convince them to make a vinegar based sauce…

My friend was in town and she was craving BBQ so I took her here since this place is a hidden gem and I have been coming in here for years! It is not the most fanciest of places but this is a place where you can come and eat the best ribs and no one will care if you lick your fingers right afterwards(j/k) but still, you must come here if you like BBQ and you are in the West County area! I ordered their ribs platter which was cheap for only $ 12.99 and you get ribs and 2 sides! I got their corn and baked potato and it was quite tasty!

This place is finger-lickin’-good. And I mean that because Bandana’s knows how to make some sauce. I am a vegetarian, and so did not have the meat selection at Bandana’s. I did however put some of their fine sauce on some tofu that I grilled at home. The stuff is delicious! My parents always order carry-out from this place and rave about their food(so I carry their recommendations here too)
