Waited 45 minutes for a mediocre caesar salad. Had to beg for a menu. Plenty of wait staff, most of whom appear to be opiated. Go with Dunkin’ Donuts if you want actual food.

Service with a smile and a happy bartender always makes my layovers joyful! Staff is cheerful, food is your typical airport food, drinks are delish. Now if OKC and Curry perform well, my night will be complete. #HawkFan4Life

Bare Ass Blonde was smooth, Sweet Baby Jesus was a Reese’s peanut butter cup stout, and EuForia was a sweet coffee favored dark ale

The atmosphere is kinda weird. Everyone is dressed to follow the Gothic theme like the names of their beer, but this gives off a cold and dark attitude throughout the restaurant. However our food was excellent. And the beer is of course amazing.

Sweet. Baby. Jesus. SBJ is a lovely chocolate peanut butter porter that is impossible to get in the great state of Connecticut. I’ve travelled far and wide for a 6-pack or two to bring home with me. I found out a few years ago that Duclaw had a location at BWI, but it’s on the ticketing side so I’m never able to go during my layovers. This week I was lucky(?) enough to be stranded at BWI for about 6 hours, and I figured a nice big SBJ would make the second trip through security worthwhile. I was right. I ordered a turkey burger with fries(nothing outstanding, but it hit the spot) and an SBJ. The bartender let me plug in my cell phone charger and I read a book while I enjoyed the goods in front of me. I don’t normally suggest a beer at 9 a.m., but when your flight gets in at 8 a.m. and your next flight is scheduled for 10:55 p.m., you deserve one. Or two. Just have a glass of water before you go back through security.

Well Antoine, my server did the dang thing. We literally went through the menu to find out what I could consume. Each option I thought I hit it dead on, I was dead wrong. Awesome Antoine was on it, doggone it. What a good sport he was in conferring with the Cook/Chef in the possible variations I/we could chow down on LOL. After 4 round trips of nutritional & much appreciated due diligence, I settled for the Blackened Ahi Tuna Sandwich, w/o the bread & Cucumber-Wasabi Sauce, with some sautéd onions, mushrooms & a slice of avocado. & since the only dressing I could partake in was the throwback oil & vinegar, I had Antoine bring me some of their Jerk seasoning &BBQ sauce, & with the O&V, I made my own marinade… pretty good if I must say so myself. High 5 to the Cook/Chef for his presentation as my meal was in top flight display form… even for an airport sports bar. Great comeback Manning, AFC Title Game next. What makes a 5-star setting & outstanding service in my eyes, regardless if there’s a white linen tablecloth present or not, is the effort of the server & of course the kitchen/cook/chef all tied together. Antoine was not only a G with his serving patience, he knew the menu & the ingredients… making it much easier to decide on what to order & to be able to enjoy even more so. I will make a point to stop by here through my BWI travels just to see if Antoine is working & to be served by him. Kudos to you Antoine.

Great beer and decent pub food. I definitely recommend the HellRazer IPA — nice flavor and really smooth. I went standard being conservative on the food quality and ordered buffalo chicken tenders with French fries. Tenders were decent and sauce was super flavorful(and they have sauce choices which is nice), but fries sorta stink. Better grub than most places in BWI and if you have the time to hold off on going through security then I suggest coming here, but don’t expect your socks knocked off.

Worst service ever! it’s self seating, After seating it took almost ten minutes for one of the many servers to come to our table. Our server Jasmine never came to check on us it took over thirty minutes to make two cheeseburgers! We had to get the bartender to get our server to cancel our order and give us the check because the odds of our server coming to our table were slim to none. The queso dip we had for an appetizer had the consistency of liquid sandpaper and a taste to match. I suggest taking the time to walk farther through the terminals at BWI to find a better eating establishment; like the subway around the corner!

Awful ! Terrible service, the food was horrible in every way, the patio was dirty, tables had cigarette ashes on it as they were also all over the floor. Landed at bwi late and it unfortunately was the only place open. Limited menu, didn’t offer any form of salad or vegetable except deep fried mushrooms that were aweful. The wings were ok, nothing special, even the celery was dried out.

Hustled over, arms full of bags for food after traveling. Came in at least 10 minutes before closing and was shooed away because they weren’t «making any new food». Very rude and inhospitable. Plenty of other people in the place who had just ordered. One man stood up and said they ought to serve us. Waitress then pointed to the exit. Spend your time and money elsewhere.

Our flight out of bwi was delayed so we decided to stop by duclaw for dinner. Amazing staff! Stacey and Jaime(Edward) took great care of us. Great customer service! The food was delicious! I ordered the garden salad with steak and it was just the right amount of bacon bits, and the steak was cooked to perfection! Will definitely come back next time I fly out of BWI.

Cold soup, dried out burger, super expensive beer. One star for good service & fresh salad.

Mediocre food. Nothing special. The beer selection is good. The airport doesn’t offer many options, but this was a little disappointing. Oh a side note, the waitstaff managed to spill a drink down the back of one of the party and not refill the drink until asked. She also forgot to place the starter order, which was served after the main dishes.

This was our last stop in the US for some time to come. My friends and I are on a most excellent journey. This restaurant/lounge is located outside security, extremely handy. There were probably a dozen of us. The place was fairly busy, couple that with our waitress being slow as molasses, and you get the picture. I ended up going to the bar for beverages. The Makers sour was OK… short pours are never a good start. The lime green sweet & sour mix was overpowering. I ordered a steak, don’t know what I was thinking. It was also just OK… ordered medium rare, served medium well. But based on the lower to mid-grade quality of the meat I was probably better off. Starting the trip with ptomaine poisoning would have been bad form. She struggled to separate the tabs because we weren’t all together, service 101 kiddos. If you find yourself at BWI with time to kill and you’re thirsty for a draft IPA stop in, otherwise skip it. Decent mixed drinks, good food, and efficient service are not to be found here.

Overpriced, slow service, poorly prepared food… What did they get right? Asked the bartender if we could watch the capitals game, she handed us the remote 20 minutes later and said«here see if you can find it.» Then another bartender came up and changed the channel two seconds later…

Do not go. From the sign it looks as like it would be an independent brewing company. It is not. The food could be good, it really could. The menu– if prepared correctly and with full intentions could be one of the best airport places to eat anywhere. Having said that, this is an airport food place. It should not take over an hour for chips and guac. The service was awful and they acted so busy when they had four guests. The beer was bad. Food tasted like it was in a can all day.

My friend and I wanted to pick up some people at BWI. We arrived just around an hour before the plane was due to land, and so we thought we’d wait in DuClaw to enjoy refreshments. I had visited the DuClaw in Arundel Mills, and that location gave me the impression that the BWI location would be just as good. I was wrong. The DuClaw located in BWI has dirty tables, slow workers, and unhelpful employees.
After five to ten minutes of no employees talking to us, I decided to snap a couple of pictures to show that there were no people sitting at the tables around us. Our table plus the tables to the left of us were all dirty, and the area to the right of us did not have customers. My guest wanted to leave after being ignored for 15 minutes, but I said, «Let’s actually sit here and see how long it takes for any of the employees to acknowledge us.» It didn’t happen. We were left sitting at a table for around 30 minutes with the employees acting like they did not even see us. As we as got up to leave, one worker attempted to give us a couple of menus — only after she had walked by our table a few times without saying a word. I informed her that the menus were not necessary because we sat here for so long. I should have asked her, «How come you did not offer those menus the first time you walked by our table?» She was told that I will put all of this information on Unilocal.I did not get her name since all of the employees are at fault for this lack of customer service. Note to DuClaw: hire better managers to weed out the lazy employees.

I had just checked in and found out that my flight was delayed. So we opted to get some food before going through the security checkpoint. I’ve always seen this place and wanted to try it out. The waitress told us that the kitchen closed at 9p & it was probably around 9:05p when we arrived. There were some other people there who were closing out their bill so I pleaded for her to please let us order some food. We had the pot stickers and the wings along with some Cadillac margaritas. The food did not knock my socks off but it filled my belly and was pretty decent. Many many thanks to the waitress letting us order after the kitchen was closed. I was starving and the good service and food hit the spot!

Having finally retrieved my bags at 8:00PM and needing to be back at the airport by 4:30 the next morning for the final leg of my flight, my dinner options were relegated to what was available in the airport, so I was glad to find Duclaw outside of security. As far as airport brewpubs go, I liked having seven taps to choose from. And though the beers were mostly pretty predictable — blonde, red ale, IPA, etc. — they were good examples of their respective styles all around, and I was glad to have them. I also had a burger. Got the job done, though nothing spectacular.

I have to thank Southwest Airlines. I had no idea they had a policy where they would not accept checked bags more than four hours before a flight. In fact, I’ve since researched their website, their baggage FAQs, baggage policies, etc., and found no mention of such a restriction. I’m sure it’s in the fine print somewhere, plain as day. Regardless, it meant that I had to adjust my plans and keep my bags with me for a little while at BWI. So I moseyed to the closest bar and decided that for such a special occasion, I could go head and start drinking at 10:00 am. DuClaw’s local beers were truly impressive. The Serum IPA was remarkably bitter(claims about a note of sweetness were not perceptible to me), but the most important thing is that they were not lying about the high alcohol content. Less angry about Southwest, I sampled one of the best porters I’ve had and a fantastic brown ale with hints of caramel that finished off a lovely morning waiting for Southwest to agree to transport my luggage. I didn’t try the food, so I can’t speak to that. But I had relaxed, attentive service, exceptionally good(if very expensive) beer, a nice atmosphere,* and a pleasant morning at the airport. I left calm, content, and ready to be thoroughly and invasively searched by airport security simply because I wished to travel from one place to another as a citizen. Definitely worth a stop before your flight. * One positive side effect of aging is my cohort now has enough money to spend that bars and restaurants are more likely to play music I like. I look forward to enjoying this decade where they have to pretend my tastes are still cool.
