Best chicken tikka masala and veggie samosas in the city. I can’t speak to anything else they make because its all i ever get. But i love this place and the prices are great too. The lunch special is the best deal you will find in baltimore.

It would have been really nice if there were some utensils/napkins which is basic for any delivery. BUMMER!

Horrible customer service, the order was never delivered ! We ordered through Grubhub and were informed that the food will be delivered in 45 mins. I even recieved an SMS from Grubhub notifying that the food is on the way and will be arriving in 10 mins. The SMS also mentioned the name of the delivery guy. However, the food did not arrive. After 1 hour I called up at the restaurant. The guy who picked up the phone confirmed that they did receive my order via Grubhub, the delivery guy was on his way and he should arrive in 5 – 10 mins. I asked if there was any issue with the order that caused the delay. The guy at the restaurant told me that they had some issues at the restaurant because of which all their deliveries have got delayed. I waited for almost another hour and the food was still not delivered. I called up the restaurant again and the guy denied receiving any orders from Grubhub. I was shocked since the restaurant lied the second time I called them up. I will never order from from here ever again due to their awful customer service.

In town for a conference. Didn’t feel like going out so I ordered from here. I requested delivery at 645(2 hours after my order so that I could finish a session) and it ended up arriving at 5pm. Even though that mishap made things difficult for me, the food was very good. Vegetable samosas and lamb Korma were really nice. I ordered online so a couple of my requests were not met but overall it was rather good.

Made a small order. I live 5 minutes away(yes I’m aware I’m being lazy) but ordered delivery. After 70 minutes I called to check on my order and… apparently they delivered my food to the wrong address and didn’t bother to call me. I was also laughed at by the person explaining what happened to my food. Been 95 minutes now since my order was placed. I’ll update my review later to finish the tale. It’s been an hour and a half. I called to restaurant again to cancel the order and they wouldn’t let me, telling me that the delivery guy was in front of my house(he is not). I will certainly never order from this establishment again.

I only got takeout so I did not eat in the restaurant and can only base my review solely on the food. I got Chicken Tikka Marsala, Roti bread, and naan. The food was just OK. I’ve definitely had worse before. The sauce was a little more tomatoey than I prefer, I like it a bit creamier. Also the chicken seemed a bit dry even sitting in all that sauce. I definitely ate the whole thing with both breads over the course of the day. I’m not sure if I’m just so spoiled by the Indian place near my house that everything just pales in comparison. Being too far from my usual restaurant, I would order here again.

Just got them on OrderUp and had to write a review the minute I finished. That was really excellent food. I got the Shahi Paneer, which was so delicious. It was creamy and filling — enough for two meals easily. My boyfriend ordered the Chicken Saag, which might have been the best saag we’ve ever tasted. It was complex and rich and perfectly spiced. We also got an order of the Alu Parantha, which is flatbread with potato and spices inside, which was excellent — four big pieces and perfect flavor. We’re definitely going to order from them again. The portions were extremely large, and for the price we wound up with two meals each!

Ordered through OrderUp! I ordered the Chicken tikka marsala and the Alu Tikka. So first off, I didn’t get any utensils or napkins with my delivery, which I would have thought is always included regardless. I only really needed a plastic fork, would have settled with a spoon. This wouldn’t normally be a problem but I took my food immediately to a library where there were no utensils either. I was going to save the food for the next day since it was already kind of late and I had lost some of my appetite. But, I found a fork a few hours later! So down to the food: The chicken is very very good, large chunk of chicken that are still tender! The sauce is creamy and very flavorful! I have a low tolerance for spicy food, so I ordered mild just to be safe. There is still a bite to it but not overwhelming that I can’t continue eating it. The Alu Tikka, however, is right up there in spice. Its really good, but I have to reach for water after every bite. However, that’s my lack of a tolerance for spicy foods. Overall, I recommend this place and I will definitely try more dishes! But I’ll probably keep a spare fork with me to be safe.

Delicious! I ordered food through OrderUp and was very glad I did! The tikki chicken masala was creamy and tasty. I ordered medium spice level and thought it was more mild-medium. Good quality chicken breast. I also got the vegetable samosas, which were large and overstuffed. The portions were good sized and the price is fair. I cannot comment on in house service etc, but I will definitely eat their food again! Highly recommend.

I absolutely love Himalayan House! I have only ever ordered from here, but each time their food and service exceeds my expectations. I highly recommend their chicken korma!

Food was deliciously spiced and chicken was very tender. The only thing I did not like so much was that they put oil in the rice and also lots of oil in the bowl with the chicken.

Needed some good grub before heading to D.C. Stopped in at this little place. Greeted warmly when we entered by the owner, a Nepalese native. I Love the influence of Nepal when it comes to Indian food. We ordered the Chicken curry and Lamb Vindaloo, of course some fresh Naan bread. Comes with ample basmati rice. I sampled the curry(mine), easily met my expectations. Tried the Vindaloo and was blown completely away. It had spices I have never enjoyed to this level. What an experience. Oh yes, the Naan was perfect. Come try this place

The food is good, but avoid delivery at all costs. Ordered at 8pm, food arrived at 10pm. The order was for one person. This is one of the few places, however, to give you free sauces on the side. Other Baltimore Indian restaurants charge you for side sauces, that’s pretty hard swallow. The Tandori chicken is OK. The vegetables were soggy. The chicken a bit dry. The Dal is great. They really nailed classic Indian Dal. The Naan isn’t traditional, but it’s passable. Price is OK, but this is Baltimore not a real city so you can’t charge 20 bucks for a meal. Lower the price point.

We always have Himalayan House deliver our food on nights when we are too tired to cook a meal. I cannot say enough about how good their food is and how reasonably expedient their delivery is. We have tried about 6 or 7 items at this point. Everything is delicious. We like it hot, but they will adjust the spiciness to fit your taste buds. If you like the Indian style of cooking, you must try this place.

We followed our friend’s recommendation and stopped by to dine-in. Sitting down to eat is available, but with the way the place is set up(with the convenience store in the front), take-out/delivery is a much better option. Food-wise — 5 stars. The menu is really extensive… so many options! We went with the alu tikki, keema naan, chicken tikka masala and lamb vindaloo. Great meal + had lots of leftovers too.

Although this place shouldn’t be considered for ambiance(it’s unpleasant to the point of humor), the food is superb. I found virtually no flaws with my meal. My veggie korma was delicious, and everything(including pakoras and naan) was tasty and freshly made. All in all, delicious take-out, and a gem for the neighborhood.

Disclaimer: I came here with Vicky D., so if our reviews sound similar, that’s why. I’ve gotten food from here twice now and the food tastes very good. If that were the only thing I was grading it would be a solid 4 – 4.5. The reason I’m only giving it a three is two-fold. First of all, we had been given some gift certificates as a gift when we moved to our house nearby. Nowhere on the gift certificate does it say that it’s for dine in only, but when we arrived, we found a sign stating that they would only honor them if you dine in. A little odd, since it’s essentially a take out place combined with a convenience store that they stuck a few tables in. Fair enough, but if you’re going to make me dine in, then I’m judging you based on the atmosphere too, which is terrible. I’d rather not eat my lunch 5 feet away from a shelf with tampons and toilet paper on it. The«dine in» food is even served in the same to go containers as if you get take-out. I get the sense that the owner regretted offering the coupon deal(it was a $ 10 coupon through groupon or or something) and wants to re-coup half of that $ 10 thru a tip by making you dine in. The other knock is the portion size. More than one of the dishes we got(lamb vindaloo and chicken tikka masala) were a little light on how many actual pieces of meat were in the container(compared to the sauce, veggies, etc.). Not sure yet if that was just a one-time thing. Bottom line: the food tastes great, and that’s the most important thing, but the rest put me off a little. I will be back and I’m sure it will be delicious.

I have to say I was a bit underwhelmed by this place. I usually reserve Indian food for the colder months so I was really excited to finally try it after living down the street for 6 months. My BF’s parents gave us like 6 different coupons to use there since we figured it’d probably become a staple for us. Well, I asked them about it when I called to place the order and they said« coupons are for dine-in-only». Funny, cuz it didn’t say that anywhere on the coupon. We figured we’d save them for another time and ordered anyway. When I got there, I saw the sign posted at the register saying that the deals were for dine-in only… and I can’t understand why. It’s clearly a hole-in-the wall carry-out type place with no ambiance and only a couple large tables in the«seating area». I just figured if you want people to eat in your restaurant, you might want to spiff it up a bit. The food wasn’t quite ready when we arrived but that meant it was piping hot when we brought it home. We got the lamb momo, lamb vindaloo, chicken tikka masala, and naan. Everything was delicious, and it was my first time having momo. Heaven!!! They give you a good amount of them too. I was expecting a little more in terms of serving size of the other dishes though, especially after so many people commented on the huge portions. They seemed pretty average for a take-out place but I’m assuming they give you more when you dine in. I guess I will find out when I go back to use my coupons! Overall pleased, but not impressed.

This place is one of the reasons why you should never judge a book by its cover. Himalayan House doubles as a convenience store and only has 4 tables. If you think it looks more like a take-out place, that’s because it is for the most part. But don’t be shy, have seat and enjoy the hospitality and get ready for the flavor party that’s about to happen. Naturally, my family I ordered a bunch of things. — Vegetable Samosas — Vegetable Pakoras — Chicken Tikka — Chicken Tikka Masala — Lamb Vindaloo — Lamb Momo — Tandoori Roti — Garlic Kulcha The samosas were some of the biggest and tastiest ones I’ve ever had. The vegetable pakoras were delicious little fritters. The Chicken Tikka was juicy and nicely seasoned. The Chicken Tikka Masala had a rich, creamy and super flavorful sauce good enough to drink on it’s own(which I may or may not have done a couple times). The Lamb Vindaloo was exploding with flavor and had a nice spicy kick to it. Lamb Momo are Tibetan style dumplings and they were served with a great mustard-like sauce. There wasn’t much of a difference between the Roti and Kulcha, except that the rotie was made with whole wheat flour and the Kulcha was made with regular flour. Nonetheless, both were served delicious and hot. Overall, the service and food were excellent. The guys came by often to make sure we were enjoying our food. It was clear from the menu that it was predominantly Indian cuisine, which I didn’t have a problem with. What intrigued me about this place was the Nepalese food, which unfortunately was limited to only a small section of the menu. That said, the food was still incredible. It’s definitely a place I would not hesitate to order food to take out whenever I’m in the area.
