We stayed at McElderry House while my daughter was in Johns Hopkins Hospital having surgery. We chose McElderry because of it’s location and extremely reasonable price. It is 2 blocks from the hospital, so is an easy walk along very well-lit streets. We were able to park our car in a garage and leave it there for the five days we stayed at the house. There is a fabulous market 1 ½ blocks away with fresh groceries, or ready-to-eat fresh meals. All the staff members we dealt with were exceptionally polite and helpful. Questions were answered, and Rebecca was even kind enough to come to our townhouse and help us figure out how to work the TV. The townhouse itself was homey and very clean. It reminded me of staying at my Grandmothers house. Sheets and towels were provided and the full kitchen saved us time and money. Miss Theresa has done us all a favor by providing a place for families to stay while a loved one is in the hospital. It was so refreshing to deal with such nice people, and have a safe, clean place to come home to after the stress of the hospital. The price was incredible for the amazing location and quality of the unit. I would highly recommend McElderry House Lodging, and would I would definitely stay here again if the need arose.

Absolutely the rudest treatment I have ever received anywhere. The woman checking me in reduced me to tears. I won’t go into details, but it was outrageous. Her unprofessional behavior and lack of compassion were incredible. I was so upset that I barely slept. As for the facilities, I was not impressed. On par with a Motel 6 or super 8. The convience of being walking distance to my appointment at the hospital was the only plus. If you’re looking for the convenience factor, to save considerable money on transportation from BWI, take the like rail to the convention center, then get a cab from there. $ 1.60 train, about $ 7 cab.
