Plug Ugly’s is the most underrated restaurant in the square. If you are looking for a good happy hour, a date night or a meal with friends this place has it all. I would recommend the fish tacos for an entrée. For happy hour I would recommend the shrimp and/or crab dip. I recently went with friends and got the crab cake sandwich for $ 18 it was amazing! The chef usually comes out and introduces himself which is nice. This place is definitely one of my favorite.

I have been coming to plugs for quite a while now and I have always thought the food was very good but this new menu has taken it to the next level. With deals almost every day and honestly some of the best wings I have ever had!!! They have a ½ price select entrée night every Wednesday which allows you to try some of these amazing dishes for an almost unheard of price and the service there has always been great. Plugs in my mind has always been great but with all of the recent changes it is definitely a must when you come to canton!!!

We had a family brunch with my one-year-old sons(yes they have high chairs). They have a Bloody Mary bar which my wife loved. I opted to skip the bottomless drink option which was $ 15 I think. The food was absolutely amazing. I got the Plug Ugly Burger which was cooked perfectly and was delicious. My wife got the Sausage Skillet which she enjoyed a lot. My boys got the french toast side which was more than they could handle but they ate as much as they could. I was thoroughly impressed.

Honestly, based upon the Unilocal reviews we walked in and made our way to the second floor looked around and decided to try another place with more«stars» as reviews. On our way out we met with the executive chef Mr. John. He stopped us and asked us why we were leaving, we didn’t really have a reason so as we proceeded to walkout, he continued talking about his food(with passion and love). Coming from the restaurant industry, I immediately stopped and decided to listen to what he had to say. Based upon his passion and love for his food, we decided to stay and give it a try. The food was indeed what he promised. DELICIOUS. What tops it off, he personally came to the table to check on how we were doing, and how we liked the food. Point of this review, don’t always judge a restaurant based upon reviews of stars and amount of review. DEFIANTLYGIVETHISPLACE A TRY! You won’t regret it!

WARNING!!! MOUSEALERT!!! I had been to Plug Ugly’s once before with my girlfriend and they had a decent happy hour, so last night my boyfriend and I decided to check them out for dinner. They had half priced entrees as a featured special so we were pleasantly surprised with that. We started off with smoked honey old bay wings which were delicious. My boyfriend got the blackened Atlantic salmon which comes served w a creamy Parmesan risotto. Sounds great, but he’s lactose intolerant so he asked if he could substitute the sides in which he was told, «no, they don’t like when you get crazy and switch it up with the entrees.» Ok, no big deal… We had an appetizer and we were looking forward to trying this awesome bread pudding they had on their menu topped with whiskey sauce(yum, I know!!) I ordered the 12 oz NY strip medium rare. I was highly disappointed in the steak. It was anything but med rare. It was more like medium well. I politely let them know it wasn’t cooked to my liking n they said they would fix it. When the steak came back out, it was DROWNED in a red wine reduction sauce… But it totally took away from the steak… Honestly, it was the worst steak I’ve ever had. I had maybe three bites and was done. So then we order the bread pudding with whiskey sauce to maybe redeem our whole experience because, let’s face it, bread pudding can make any situation better!!! To our dismay, the awesome whiskey sauce they featured was really Hershey’s chocolate syrup… No whiskey sauce… And the bread pudding was dryer than most bread puddings… And as if this wasn’t enough, we then saw A MOUSE scurry across the floor!!! We didn’t even say anything to anyone about it — we had just had enough. We kindly asked for the check, left a 20% tip and bounced. Needless to say, we will NEVER come back… I suggest you don’t waste your time in this dirty shithole either.

The only way I could recommend this place is if you like being ignored and brushed off… go here! So this past Wednesday night my girlfriends and I decided to meet for happy hour as we regularly do in the square. The two of them were already there and I showed up about 20 minutes after. The bar downstairs had a few people around it but not many and the bar upstairs was empty except for them. I waited roughly 7 – 8 minutes before I even saw the bartender, a shorter girl with a bob cut, in the distance wiping down dishes. I waited for her to come over and greet me, she never did before she disappeared again. Now I’m not one to get upset easily at these things as I’m also a bartender and I’ve dealt with unreasonable guests that expect miracles when the bar is insanely busy. But this bar was empty and I had been standing there for 10 minutes being ignored. So I went downstairs to try and order there… waited…waited…waited. No bartender… ever. I went back upstairs… no bartender. I went back downstairs… no bartender. I went back upstairs and AH! There she is… wiping down dishes again. I asked her if I could place an order with her. She acts as if she doesn’t hear me. I ask again, it takes her a minute to look up from her precious dish wiping and she says«In a minute» and goes back to her dish. I was floored. I went back downstairs to yet again a bartenderless bar and walked back to the line where someone who might have been a manager was what looked to be expediting food. I asked her for help, she was cordial enough and said she would get someone up to help me, that the bar downstairs was empty bc she was also bartending. I assumed the place must be the most understaffed joint on the block to have the manager bartending, expediting AND managing and clearly the bartender upstairs was also the dishwasher? … So I go back up and wait. I had enough time to explain the entire situation to my friends and for 2 new girls to come up and sit at the bar. Bartender not in sight… again. Finally she appears and I think of course she will come over and finally take my order since I have been waiting so long. She completely ignores my presence, takes the new guests’ order and proceeds to make their drinks in front of my face. Hurt and offended I told my friends to grab the check and meet me at tavern. I walk into Tavern, grab a seat at the bar which was considerably busier than both of Plug’s put together(what comes next is probably why) and I barely had time to put my purse down before a bev nap was put down in front of me and a friendly face was asking what I’d like to drink. My friends appeared about five minutes later and I had a drink already in front of me and was placing my food order. When they arrived, they explained that they were not treated very nice checking out at Plug’s. That the bartender was quite«salty.» So, I’m not sure if they are severely under-staffed, for an empty bar to have such trouble servicing a guest, but I will say this; as a career Bartender/Server for the past 14 years, that«bartender» does not belong in the service industry. She doesn’t understand that even when you are in the weeds, in this case the dish wiping weeds in a near empty bar, you smile and try your best to accommodate. If you can’t right at that moment, like say you have a dish wiping emergency, politely let the customer know you will be right with them as soon as you are done and then make note of the order your unserved guests come in, in this case she only had to remember one, and take their order first before moving on to a guest who has not been waiting. Very sad Plug’s. Very sad. *I’m using my boyfriend’s account. I am Sylvia. Thank you.

Hi, bartender greeted us right away, told us about specials and invited us upstairs since we were waiting for another couple. Got a great spot at the bar and had grapefruit crushes in hand in two! Half time brought wonderful crab fritters and nachos, very crispy, crunchy. Sauce for the fritters had the best mix of smooth and old bay, yum. I will say the reason why I probably won’t be back is another«bartender”(in an orange tee, not the same as the bartenders??) kept coming down to the end of the bar, quickly grabbing a ½ beer, guzzling it and then tossing the plastic cup. He also bussed the tables? Why was this person allowed to drink? Not professional for the establishment.

So we were recommended here because we were told that the food was really good. We arrived around 7pm. Unfortunately we were unable to try the food. We arrived with a group of 10 and sat out on the patio area on the second floor which was very nice, however when I came back from the bathroom I sat for 10 minutes to even get my drink order … Ok whatever, they were busy, it happens. Then it took forever for the waitress to even get our food order. It wouldn’t have been a big deal if we weren’t on a deadline, we had to be somewhere at 845 or miss out on our holding spot. So she takes our order… 745 comes along, lady says food will be out in a minute, my husband says cool we have an hour to eat and head out. 810 rolls by, then 815 then 820 still no food. I go get the manager to explain the situation. He comes out, we tell him the deal, he leaves, comes back at 825ish… Said the ticket was just put in at 810… Like we were lying?! Which no one was too happy about. Even though she kept the drinks coming, we were there for food. I would like to try it again but it won’t be for awhile because we really didn’t appreciate how the service was and the fact that we waited forever and to be told that the ticket was just put in and we were basically being obnoxious… Not cool… But the pirate juice was good!

Maybe it was the fact that we went for dinner on a Friday night, but service was SLACKING. It took forever for the waitress to take our orders or bring drinks. It was so slow, we decided to skip dinner there and go elsewhere. The bar scene did look cool/mature. I would maybe go back for happy hour, but that’s it.

We stopped here for a casual early dinner before a show at Royal Farms Arena on a Monday night. Service was friendly… When offered… Which was sparse. We had to waive down the wait staff for attention or to place an order. For an app we ordered«Fried Green Tomatoes»… They were fried quite well, and topped with sizable shrimp and remuloude however NOTGREEN… In fact they were quite RIPEANDRED. We were not advised that they did not have GREEN tomatoes nor offered an opportunity to decline without the primary ingredient. We were served fried RED tomatoes and I can only assume they HOPED we would not notice. The fish and chips were a bit disappointing… A single piece of fried fish piled high with chips and a side of so-so Cole slaw. We specifically ordered al la cart snow Crab and shrimp… Specifically asked about the happy hour special for the al la cart shrimp special($ 15/lb), however served and charged for 2 full priced steam pots! When offered an opportunity to make good on the«Fried Red Tomatoes» we offers friendly criticism and even joked about it q bit… No offer to discount or remove from our check. Over priced. Over billed. Under served. Drinks were tasty though. Go for happy hour… Don’t expect much from the restaurant/service.

I really like Plugs. The food is better than typical bar food and the staff is awesome and friendly. The honey old bays wings might be my favorite wings of all time. Crab dip and the twisted chicken sandwich are two of my other favorites. Orange crushes are usually pretty strong. There’s a decent amount of weekly specials too.

Good brunch on the square. The Benedict was delicious and the seven rum punch was tasty. It was a snowy day so it wasn’t crowded so very chill atmosphere. Wish I had had a Bloody Mary or some seafood.

I love bread, and cheese, and pasta, and bacon. And I love when someone combines all that into a sandwich for me(plus adds a tomato so I feel like I’m getting some nutrients). The mac and cheese grilled cheese with bacon and tomato hit the spot on a cold, rainy night. The fries didn’t hurt either. My husband and I stopped here after grabbing a drink at Looney’s with some friends. Looney’s was crowded though, and I wanted to eat somewhere else, and had been meaning to come here. We started with the crab and corn fritters, which were more crab cake with corn than the doughy fritter I was expecting. The Old Bay aioli was a little spicy and very good. My husband got the Plug Ugly burger(bison, fried egg, cheese, bacon, on an English muffin) and I got the previously mentioned grilled mac and cheese sandwich. It was a ton of food, and I was going to need to be rolled to the car if I finished the sandwich, so I didn’t. I thought maybe I’d find a way to reheat it later that didn’t make it taste awful, but, no luck. Half of a grilled mac and cheese sandwich is probably best though… Overall, good meal, cute restaurant, decent service. We sat on the 2nd floor and it was pretty quiet.

One of the best top shelf spirits of any of the bars in Canton Square, including but not limited to Johnnie Walker Blue! Friendly staff, and a versatile pub menu. Probably the best time to visit it before the 20 something crowd comes in and gets rowdy. Serving oysters on the half shell at a decent price. We didn’t get any this trip, but I’m always willing to check out some local seafood. Nice atmosphere with a lot of wood finishings and a rustic feel. Of the bars we hopped to before dinner, this one was the one I’d go back to.

Everyone was pretty satisfied with their meals, but it was a little overpriced for the amount of food. The food was good, but the service needed improvement. The French onion soup had a nice balance, and the guys at our table were satisfied with their Maryland pot, although it seemed a little skimpy for the price. The old bay seasoning, the shrimp and crab were all very tasty. I was a little upset when I started eating my chicken pot pie and discovered that it contained mushrooms, after specifically asking my server if the meal contained them. Fortunately, this is just a personal preference, not an allergy, but what if I did have an allergy? The servers need some better training at this place. She also could not tell us what beers were on tap, and we had to ask twice for one of our drinks. I wouldn’t let this stop you from going. Plenty of other people seemed to be having a good time, I think we just got a dud for a server.

A great little pub on the square with a very friendly staff. Our bartender(Terri I think) was very cool and quick with our drinks and appetizer. We ordered the bacon wrapped scallops which happened to be a bit too salty for my taste, but I have had far worse. The butter sauce in this dish was decadent and amazing, and I craved some bread to sop up that delicious gravy but the dish did not come with bread. When we asked for bread, we were quickly treated to some biscuits. Let me say it again: Biscuits! Biscuits! Biscuits! It is all about the biscuits here, for they were light and fluffy. So good that I have to say that they may rank in my all-time top 3 biscuits that I have ever had. I really think that they should make the biscuits part of our scallop appetizer from here on out. A great looking place for Happy Hour or Brunch, a spot that comes with some great food and service all day long.

So we decided to hit up Plug Ugly’s because, well because we have never been and now seemed like a good time. It was a Tuesday night so Canton was pretty dead so we walked in and seated ourselves. The beer list was ok and the drafts were good, they did have 90 Minute on tap which is one of my favorites. The menu looked good and i didn’t want anything terribly heavy so we started out with the cheese plate. It was a pretty good cheese plate with fresh fruit in tow. While we were jamming on our cheese plate, a waiter brought over these two biscuits. At first I was thinking, we didn’t order these then I realized they were complimentary. Wow, what a complimentary biscuit. These things were awesome… they were sort of like the crack that Red Lobster sells and you can’t stop eating them! They were chewey and moist and delicious and i wanted to eat 65465161321 of them. Ok, moving on to the entrees. I went with the fish tacos with fries and my wife had the same thing. It is a solid portion size with 3 tacos. My fish was ok, however my wifes was not. The taste was a bit off. I really enjoyed them but if you ask my wife, she will have a different opinon. The service was very good and I really do not have a lot of complaints about this place. I will certainly be back to try some of their other menu options.
