Samuelsons Diamonds

Went here for the first time for some work on a watch and had a great experience. Steve did the work while I waited and was extremely professional. My diamond jewelry has all been from chain stores thus far, but I wouldn’t hesitate to go here for future purchases.

this is a follow-​up from what happened after I put my first review.
We got an email from one of the staff, nice and friendly asking if i could take down my review. I’d like to point out that Unilocal is a place for people to write a review about their own experiences, and for stores who really care, it’s an opportunity for them to know customers’ opinions and learn from it to make future improvement.
i was very disappointed by how Ron talked to my fiancé, and Ron did mention in his blog that he came out too strong, but he never said anything or apologize to my fiancé directly about his attitude. we can understand the frustration of dealing with new generation of customers with different toughts and competing with online retailers as they are getting bigger ans bigger but it’s really not a great idea if you want people to make a big purchase at your store by telling them that only selling settings and wedding bands don’t bring you lots of money. That might be true but you dont say that to customers, especially potential customers/​clients! Funny the ring setting we got elsewhere ended up costing more than «some engagement rings by themselves» according to a friend.
as pointed out in my first review, i never said it’s a bad store to go and never commenting on the quality of the diamond. as a store, Samuelson is one of the better ones and that’s why we’d even go to look at the first place and almost bought a ring with them, considering the fact that we were extrmely picky.
At the end, since diamond purchasing is such a serious, important and personal choice, we decided to shop somewhere else that my husbands ring criteria and inquirt were all fulfilled and tended to satisfaction and all post customer service were all taken care of professionally and eventually we made even more diamond purchase. Too bad Samuleson didn’t work out for us because over the years after this incident I did inquire quite a number pieces of diamond and gemstone jewelry…

Despite the fact that I didn’t actually complete a transaction at Samuelsons I have to write a review because of the overwhelmingly pleasant experience I had with them.
I recently won 3 diamonds rings in a magazine contest but I’m not a diamond kind of girl so I figured I should try selling them. The prospect made me nervous since I know nothing about selling jewelry but I decided to give Samuelsons a try.
I was helped personally by Ron and he couldn’t have been more accommodating. He patiently explained that due to the way the rings are constructed they are unable to be resized and therefore he could only offer me the value of the gold and diamonds despite the fact that the rings are beautiful. He said I would be able to get a much better price if I could find an individual buyer so I decided to hold onto them while I decide what to do.
During the whole process I never felt rushed or belittled for my lack of knowledge. Ron was a consummate professional and if I ever decide to pawn those rings then I’ll definitely take them to him.

I purchased my wife’s engagement ring at Samuelson’s in 2009, as well as a few other items over the years and I’ve always had a wonderful experience. My father and my grandfather before him were the ones that led me to Samuelson’s back when it was in their old location. Their new location is a sparkly gem (pun intended) in the neighborhood.
While they may not have everything in their cases, since it is smaller than one of the stores at your local mall, they have a vast array of diamond related items. If you are looking for an engagement ring, or an expensive watch, this is the place for you. They can also order you something if they don’t have it. I ordered a gold cross pendant through them and it arrived in about a week.
I continue to come in when I need a gift for my wife and it is a nice feeling that when you walk in, they remember you. It is the personal feel of Samuelson’s that makes me want to keep coming back. Sure, the deals also help!

After hearing about Ron Samuelson for a while, I was glad to finally be able to meet him in person. On a recent trip to Baltimore, I stopped into his shop which was recently renovated. It’s very sleek and open, with an ease about it, rather than a fancy high pressure show room of jewelry. Everyone was friendly and informative. Ron is really a fan of social media, and I had heard about and follow him on twitter.
In person, he is easy going and very helpful. I ended up buying a few things from him, at what I think are fantastic values. Since my first purchase, Ron has sent me a few things which he thinks I would like and I love the full service! It’s a pleasure to do business with a professional.
