Okay… went here because it was the only place nearby that puts«Cheez-Whiz» on cheesesteaks. A word of advice to the owners: if you’re selling food with something as guiltfully delicious as processed, liquid cheese, at least use the brand name. What I got was an imitation: more electric yellow than French’s mustard, tasteless, and enveloped in what amounted to a small, flimsy hot dog bun. The fries were soggy to boot. When I went to pick up, I was disappointed to learn that they’d be closing, leaving me with few options for a good ol’ «whiz wit,» then I ate and understood why they won’t be around any longer. Ain’t got nothin’ on the MaGerk’s #4!

Sadly, the owner of this restaurant has decided to close the doors on June 12, 2013 to allow for more parking for its ever popular sister, Miss Shirley’s. the location, while never without a customer, is much slower than the other restaurants owned by the same group so I guess I shouldn’t be too surprised. Too bad though, loved coming here with the kids for a good, relaxed meal.

I was a loyal and regular customer until today. The food I ordered was truly inedible. The grilled chicken sandwich was soggy, with chicken so tough and bland it was surely cooked earlier and reheated in a microwave. Mac and cheese was overcooked pasta with a cheese wiz sauce. No flavor and none of the breadcrumbs from the description. My fries would have been good if they werent cold. Too bad, before today I was a big fan. Maybe it was an off day, but it was REALLY off.

Not much of an improvement 3-years after our first visit. The Ceaser salad dressing, for example, was thick as paste and unappetizing. Likewise, the pepperoni pizza was unexceptional while the restaurant itself was a little on the chilly side. However, the staff was very friendly. There was no wait to be seated or served and there was plenty of parking on a Sat night.

This place has something for everyone and they’re sure to please. While the food here isn’t fancy schmancy, it totally hits the spot. With artery clogging yummies such as wings(Sweet Baby Rays or Frank’s Extra Hot, please!), burgers(think Five Guys but with a toasted bun!) and tater tots with whiz(um, hello!), how could you possibly go wrong? I mean, yes, you’ve probably made your love handles a bit more accessible and took a year off your life. But let’s be honest, it was totally worth it. We’ve always had friendly and efficient service here. The booth seating is cozy and it’s nice to have a couple distractions in the form of TVs and arcade games to pass the time while your stomach grumbles for some food. It’s not that it takes a lengthy period of time to get your order, you’re just super anxious to get it because it’s so tasty!

Eddie’s is a mystery of take-out. The prices are very reasonable. The food is actually really good. The restaurant itself is clean, they have two HD TVs, arcade games, and all sorts of specials and work with JHU student payment cards. They offer desserts, subs, pizza, the whole nine yards. The waiting time for food is short, and it’s always ready to go when I arrive. So why only three stars? Well, if you call in, you’ll eventually have the pleasure of dealing with who I assume is the manager, or at least one of them. He doesn’t really have time for you, your questions, or your lousy customer face. I’d like to think he’s having a bad day all 30 times I’ve dealt with him. Everybody else is nice, but… this guy(you’ll know who it is) is really just someone who shouldn’t interact with customers. Ah well, the food is good enough to suffer one person, I suppose.

The pizza REALLY did not agree with me, and the crust was a little like cardboard. I really wanted decent pizza in my neighborhood, but this pizza needs work.

Great fries, decent pizza, good specials. Very clean dining room with friendly staff, though we’ve always done takeout. Pizza was delicious and flavorful, but extremely greasy. We occasionally do takeout from here and take advantage of their special with Alonso’s across the street — discounts on bottles of wine to go. Inventive ideas and a lovely place, worth a try.

I walked into this place once, hoping for a quick bite. It was expensive and disgusting. The pasta came in a plate full of water. The employees working in back joked about dropping the spatula in the trash can. The manager looked like he hadn’t showered in a week. I would not trust this kitchen.

I sadly didn’t find about this place until a few months before I was moving out of Charles Village, after being there for seven years. From the couple times I made it up to SE’s I was really impressed. I only got sandwiches from them, but they were big, with quality ingredients, and at a good price. I always went there and placed an order to-go, and it can take them a while to put together a couple of sandwiches if there’re other orders waiting — plan for at least 10 minutes.
