It’s Starbucks, so the items are standard, but here is what sets this one apart: 1. Quirky, funny staff that seem to crack jokes or ask if you know about anything fun happening, even at 7AM on a Saturday 2. Parking isn’t bad if it is a weekend or early morning 3. They are quick. Rarely is there more than one person waiting for their drink. Outside of this, you got your standard Starbucks.

In my humble, opinion, Starbucks is Starbucks. By now, you should know exactly what coffee you should be getting, what their teas taste like, and be able to recall every flavor of frapacinos they serve. What makes a Starbucks for me is ambiance. You have your tiny little corner store with one table and people are in an out. Then you have your big Starbucks lounges. And that’s what this one is. There’s a ton of seating — mostly tables, but a few couches. There are a constant stream of students doing school work, and businessmen from the Mt. Vernon offices. Not too loud. Good place to work. Standard Baltimore crowd.

I agree with the points of Steven C. I found this as a god sent when I was in Baltimore for a convention known as Otakon. Okay there is not enough Starbucks in Baltimore. and the line at the Convention Center is always so large. when there is a convention. But what I liked about this place was its uncrowded from the convention crowd. That this was still a ‘so called local Baltimore spot.‘ So there was no wait, for my drink to come… I picked up a copy of the paper New York Times. and I liked the fact that this Starbucks looked like a great place to study. I would definitely make a return visit to here.

One of the best recent additions to the Downtown/Mt Vernon area. I usually don’t like to review huge chains, unless there are things to note about them. First off, the coffee and food is the same as any other starbucks. The nice thing though is that the staff here is very friendly and usually very patient with its customers. They also run interesting programs like«Coffee Seminars» and special deals during the summer. It’s also a welcome addition for all the students in the area. Before this, all the coffee shops in the area either weren’t open on Sundays, or had very bad hours over the weekend. Starbucks was the first to stay open all 7 days and for a longer stretch of time. Why only 4 stars if I seem to love this place? I’d love to see it improve. First off, the hours still are a little short. They close at 9 pm on most days except Sunday, when they close at 7. While I understand business dies down toward the end of the night, if they were open later, I would think more students would consider this a viable spot to study and they could bring in more people from nearby study hotspots like CityCafe. Just 10 or 11 pm would be an amazing change. Also, I know it seems to be starbucks policy or something, but it’s also a drawback that they don’t have free wi-fi. There’s been too many instances where I’m about to head out to study with friends, and we inevitably ask, «who needs internet?» Usually it’s an affirmative, and we have to nix s-bucks on account of that. Haven’t some starbucks in the country started offering free wi-fi? Overall, solid coffee shop with friendly staff and good study space(there’s two stories!). I imagine most people have already seen and been to this place, but if not, you should check it out.
