Crab cakes were great and almost all crab. Very little filler. Only downside is the price of it.

Amazing crab cake. Yes, there are no fillers! Everything was delicious and fresh. Took us 5 mins to scarf it all down! LOL

Great spot for a chill, casual ambiance to take a breather while enjoying a good drink and great crab cake. i would recommend getting the crab cake entrée as opposed to the sandwich because the bread can be a bit overwhelming for the sandwich. but the crabcake is DELICIOUS! service for me anytime i have been was great. ask for server/bartender Lee if you are there during the week in the evening.

Ate here and expected much more for the price. I basically had a turkey breast sandwich, but it was so small and bland that I left hungry and unsatisfied. Also, the service was extremely slow. The bartender was so busy socialising with a customer that he forgot he was at work and had other clients to serve(they are understaffed). I wish I would’ve eaten somewhere else.

We are staying in the attached hotel and needed an easy lunch option. On a positive note the staff was very accommodating. To be kind the food was not very inspired.

This is the place you see with a sign outside that reads«CRABCAKESWITHNOFILLER» when you’re heading towards 83 downtown. One evening, my boyfriend and I were enticed by the sign and sick of eating crab cakes with filler, so we decided to stop in. The restaurant is off of a hotel lobby and felt like a tourist spot. They had all the ‘elements’ of a Baltimore bar(exposed ductwork, exposed brick, an old ceiling fan on a visible pulley system, tin ceiling) but it was all brand new so it didn’t have the old Baltimore charm that I love. It felt inauthentic, but on the bright side it was actually clean unlike many charming bars in this area. That’s just my personal preference — I love historic charm and this place has none. The bartender was really friendly, although service was slow — they seemed understaffed and we didn’t see him much, but it was still okay. I asked the bartender if the crab cake was really all that great and he said ‘Yes’ and that we had to try it. Sold! My boyfriend and I ordered one crab cake sandwich and a reuben. The food was pretty good — crab cake sandwich with no filler, as promised. I was a surprised that it came on a generic burger bun pulled freshly from the Walmart shelf, and it was way too much bread for the crabcake so we didn’t eat the bread. The side of veggies were soaked in a LOT of olive oil. The rueben was blah, kind of plain and dry. I’ve had many that were better. I mean, we still ate it but it was nothing special. The negative direction of the evening came when the bill came. The crab cake sandwich was listed as ‘market price’ on the menu. It was TWENTYSIXDOLLARS. Yes, a $ 26 crab cake sandwich is considered ‘market value’. I eat out a lot in the area and I am pretty sure market value is $ 12-$ 16 at the most. For $ 26 I would’ve expected a bun besides a generic white Wal-Mart grocery store bun. At least toast the bun. At least put the price on the menu. I just felt annoyed. The ambience was meh, and the crab cake part of the sandwich was good, but the bread was cheap, and the rest was alright. My rating is so low because it was NOT worth the $ 60 bill we got for two rounds of drinks during happy hour and two light-fare entrees. And thats without tip. Meh — I’d rather go elsewhere for a better experience and pay less money to do it.

We stayed at Fairfield Inn, and this was the hotel restaurant. It was a cold evening in Baltimore, so we figured we’d just stay there and catch a bite before we ventured out in the cold to go and see a show at the Soundstage. We were captive! They had to TRY to lose us, and they did! We were greeted quickly when we sat down in the nearly empty bar(should have been a warning sign, in hind sight), and I asked for an Espresso Martini. I was told he didn’t have the ingredients, so my man ordered his drink: a Manhattan. When I asked the bartender if he could make a Raspberry Martini or something like it, he asked«Cosmo?», and I agreed. My Cosmo was very light in color and tasted more like juice than anything, and his Manhattan tasted like LEMON!(wtf?). Then, our bartender disappeared for what was apparently the longest cigarette in the history of the world. We opted, after tasting our beverages and essentially being ignored, to go elsewhere for dinner. Again, it wouldn’t have taken much effort from them at all for us to have stayed and thrown $ 60 for dinner. To add insult to injury, my «cosmo» was $ 11! No wonder he suggested that one! In order to get my check, I asked a gentleman who I thought was a server if he could get it for us. He indicated that he was ALSO a bartender and seemed confused that I didn’t know that. Perhaps if he had been a bit more accommodating, or had been our initial server, we would have stayed to eat.

The honey wings at the tavern are very good. I have only been there twice but it is definitely a place I would go back go.

I really don’t know how this place has received such great reviews — Tavern 101 is sub par and less than satisfactory in all areas. The restaurant is located in the lobby of the hotel I’d been staying in. I’ve eaten here two times out of convenience and regretted it every single time. It doesn’t matter what you order from a burger to a salad the wait time is at least 40 mins. How hard could it be to throw some lettuce on a plate? Unless they went all the way to a farm to freshly pick my salad ingredients I just don’t understand it. Same thing with the burger: were they slaughtering the cow in the kitchen? I can assure you not — the burger tasted like crap and the bun was stale. I didn’t finish my burger and still had a stomach ache later on. Want anything custom for your order? FORGETIT! The staff cannot even handle the ticket times let alone subbing or deleting anything from your meal. The service is slow, the food is disgusting, and the icing on the cake: little fruit flies inhabit this ‘restaurant’ — I was waiting for Jon Taffer to burst through the doors at any moment.

I had dinner here with one of my friends. I figured it would be okay and it was convenient. I ordered a drink, but it wasn’t as heavy as I would like. At least the price was standard for it. We ordered the old bay fries, I ordered the crab cake sandwich, and she ordered the fish and chips. The old bay fries were good, but there was a bit too much of the spice, so it was very salty. I liked the lump crab on top quite a bit. They post that their crabcakes have no fillers, and they sure didn’t. My sandwich was good and what I was expecting.

Had lunch with my husband. Everything was excellent. We had the crab fries, old bat and honey wings and crab cake sandwich. The daytime server/bartender was very friendly and attentive. The place was calm and nicely lit. Not dark– that drives me crazy! The drinks were nice and strong too. She makes a good drink! Or maybe we were just really thirsty after a long drive! Either way, it was an excellent lunch. Especial for a hotel restaurant, which I tend to hold to lesser standards. It was worth the stop in for lunch instead is heading right over to the inner. harbor area. Only complaint, is the size of the roll on the crab cake sandwich. It was way too big and over powered the crab cake. But not a big deal in the end.

Awful, just awful! This restaurant is clearly for tourists that don’t know any better. I am a native Baltimorean(born and raised). I purchase different coupons so that I can experience different venues(that I would not ordinarily go to). Well, this was the worst. My daughter and I went on a Friday after work/school to have an early dinner — we arrived around 4 pm. There were three people sitting at the bar and a couple sitting at a table. There was no staff to greet us. I finally went to the hotel lobby and asked at the desk where was the staff. I was told that someone would be with us. We seated ourselves and about ten minutes later a young lady showed up(who was also the bartender). We had already looked at the menu online so we knew what we wanted to order. Well the menu online was not the same as the menu that was given to us. It was suppose to be happy hour Monday thru Friday(based on their website), we were informed that happy hour was Monday thru Thursday. This messed up our whole game plan. Anyway, we ordered and it was not good. We could have gone to McDonalds and would have been more satisfied.

It was billed to us a gastropub. It is no gastropub. Its just a bar in a hotel with very average bar food, at above average prices. There are too many other places in the area to go, to really recomend this as anything but a place to eat if you are at the hotel, or just need a place to meet for a drink.

I am only writing about the bar area. The bar’s happy hour has some good cheaper options. $ 2 Yuenglings is a true seller for me! Definitely a place to check out on your way out for the evening. The barstaff was also really nice and helpful.

We went a month ago on a Saturday afternoon around 1 because we had a Groupon. There were only 4 of us. I will warn you that if you bought the Groupon, take cash because they had to take my credit card to put into the computer for the Groupon to register… my credit card was out of my site for the entire time I was there, which I did not like. I’ve been checking my statements regularly. The food was just okay and it took us 2 hours to get our food. I can understand if the place is packed, but there were only 2 other tables of people in there during our lunch. Our waitress brought out 3 meals, walked away, and didn’t bring the 4th meal until 3 – 4 minutes later. We all weren’t sure if it was coming or if they forgot about it because they didn’t say anything when they brought the other meals… overall, we were disappointed… and the world’s best chicken club was nothing special. I would not go to this place again. I forgot to mention that my husband’s mother also ordered the ‘world’s best chicken club’ and said that she didn’t realize it was supposed to be a cold sandwhich(it wasn’t…) The only good thing is that I would agree, good fries!

I know that Tavern 101 is connected to The Fairfield Green Suites, but this is strictly for the bar itself. You don’t need to be a hotel patron to enjoy this nicely tucked bar along one of Baltimore’s busy corridors. Not too displaced from the Inner Harbor or Harbor East, the $ 3 Happy hour selection make it a viable spot for pre-gaming(If you’reinto that). The food here is on par with better pub food, but not creative enough for gastropub. The Crab/Old Bay fries, wings, burgers, and chips(fresh cut) are worth a stop here. I like to see Baltimore’s small, fledgling establishments get some love, even if it’s attached to an overpriced«green» hotel…
