This was my first restaurant week brunch experience! The waitress was very attentive and welcoming. She came to check up on our table multiple times throughout the meal. The French toast bites for appetizer were decent. They were a little too sweet for me – the gingerbread flavor was a tad overpowering. But the idea of French toast bites is genius! I always have trouble deciding between savory and sweet for brunch, and this was the perfect solution! I could have a sweet dish for appetizer and a savory one for the main dish! The pork and crab benedict(4 $ more for crab) I ordered was one of the best Benedictus I’ve ever had! It wasn’t too salty nor was it drenched with hollandaise sauce. The pork was tender and the crab was fresh! And, the location in fells point is beautiful, just a few minutes walk from the water. I would definitely recommend coming here for brunch!

This the place to have lunch when you’re in Fells point and just want to eat regular American cuisine. The service is great, nice atmosphere, everyone is helpful. They have nice specials: Thursday is pizza’s day($ 6) for example! Ask the loyalty card and you’ll get your 7th lunch for free!

Since it was New Year’s Day, I guess I can give it a bit of a pass, but the service today was less than stellar. My party and I were in the upstairs area, and it took a while to get our drinks and orders in. I had to go up to ask for utensils and napkins, as well as hot sauce, and it was a little bit frustrating. On the plus side, the food was delicious, and there were a lot of options, and perfect for nursing a hangover. All in all, I’d come back again, and hopefully the service will be better next time

ERIC is badass! Great bartender, makes phenomenal drinks and had a great personality. Wish all bartenders were like him. Here for a friends birthday and he was super on point!

We had lunch here today — a tradition over the last 3 years. Lunch and Bloody Mary’s, then over to the market to buy pierogis. This place has the best wait staff. Food is great and properly priced. Looking forward to next year’s trip!

My experiences at Alexander’s Tavern have been mostly positive. Service has always been prompt and friendly and they have some great weekday specials. Unfortunately some of their appetizers are a bit weak. We recently tried their crab dip tots and they are noticeably inferior to the ones at Ale Mary’s. The nachos here aren’t that impressive either. The drinks and sandwiches I’ve had at AT have always been good but the menu has a few weak spots.

Went for quick dinner for Halloween night. Was there at around 8:30 — 8:45pm. Place was not crowded on the restaurant side. I’ll give this place 2.5 stars to be fair; and we have not tried the pizza as one come toe has states were good. Place was clean including restroom even though they only have 1 common restroom. The prices were reasonable; got the half Maryland crab and cream of crab soup. It was humongous portion and had to share it. Presentation was good with the cream of crab in the outer portion and the Maryland crab soup in the middle(tasted not made from scratch unfortunately) with lump crabmeat in the middle. Soup was just warm, it was okay but you can skip it. I ordered grilled cheese with it; good portion perfectly cooked with white cheddar I presume. Bf got the Cubano, small portion nicely prepared(can skip it next time if we do return) + sweet potato tater tots. Tater tots were crispy but cold on the inside which is unfortunate like it was prepared beforehand prior to is ordering. And at around 9:10pm our server turned down 2 young adult male patrons stating they were about to close in a bit but can head to the bar side of the restaurant where they also serve some food. By 9:15pm our same server just welcomed a group of 40ish-50ish age group of crowd to dine in the restaurant and offered them menu items after they got seated. When we left by 9:30pm the same group were still there waiting for their food… Hhhmm… Some disconnect and confusion there… Our server was pleasant though, she did checked on us for some time but never got refills of water and had to ask for our utensils once our food were served. Will give this place a second chance since food is different from Green turtle and a tad better than Max’s tap house/tavern.

This place is divided Into two sides. A restaurant on one side with a single person unisex bathroom and a bar on the other. I was a group of six and our food came out quick but The food sucked. I had the French dip and I couldn’t eat it because it was soooo salty. I’ve never been to a restaurant where I couldn’t eat my meal. The prices were reasonable but nobody at the table enjoyed their food. The server was«ok» but didn’t think to ask how our food was. I only took two bites and left my sandwich untouched. When she brought our check she asked if I wanted a box and my response was«I couldn’t eat it here why would I take it home, it’s the saltiest food I’ve ever tried» and with that the person next to me took a bite and had to spit it out. The waitress seemed unphased and offered dessert. Mehhh. No thank you. She did remove my sandwich from the bill but still charged for my side that came with it. Whatever. Won’t be back and neither will my fells point friends. I can’t speak for the bar but it seemed lively from the noise. If you check in on Unilocal you get a coupon for $ 3 draft beer.

Came here for a group lunch. There is metered parking around the area. The place was pretty empty during lunchtime in the middle of the week. We ordered several different types of tots and I ordered the BBQ pizza based on reviews. The tots were alright, with a variety of toppings which made them unique and interesting. The pizza came on a thin crust and was a good size. I enjoyed the BBQ flavor but there was nothing outstandingly special about it. I can see how this would be a good place to go to watch a sports game or to watch a drink, as the food seems to cater to that, but not necessarily what I was looking for.

This is a good local bar in Fells. They offer decent HH prices and serve up some decent rail drinks in pint glasses. The bartenders are friendly and attentive. The food is, well, average pub food. I will mention that they did charge an additional $ 0.50 for tartar sauce for a crab cake sandwich that it, strangely enough, didn’t come with. It isn’t a big charge but I thought it was peculiar. I do like most everything they serve up though so it is worth checking out. Also, they participate in orderup, southwest dining rewards, and opentable.

As a dive bar, the food, service and ambiance is what you would normally expect from one. To me a tavern is a different type of place… but in all honesty who cares? As long as the food, the company, and the alcohol are there. I don’t think anyone would care what you call the place. The people will come. What makes this place standout is the pizza and tater tots. I normally wouldnt have expected a place, like this, to have good pizza. So I would like to thank my pal for inviting me to try it out. It was definitely worth the visit. As you can’t really mess up «neat» drinks and beers… I will move onto the cocktails. The cocktails were not that great… at all. However, my 4 star rating will be based on the pizza and tots since there aren’t that many places that you can get a cold one with a side of tots and a personal pizza. Definitely worth a trip back. tl;dr — beer + pizza + tots = a good time

I’m definitely a fan of this place. I enjoy this place equally as much as I enjoy going to Todd Conner’s for lunch and happy hour food/drinks. Alexander’s has the BEST personal pizzas. They flaunt their use of a local bakery’s pizza dough, and it always comes out crispy and plenty of cheese. I love them for quick lunches. I think on Thursdays they have all pizzas on special for $ 6! Alexander’s has some great outdoor seating as well, but since the venue is located on Broadway(not on Thames by the water), there is a lot of pedestrian traffic, and the venue is shadowed most of the day by the building of the Broadway Market. But, Alexander’s is fantastic for family dinners, all the way to Sunday morning hangover brunches. They do food well. They also have excellent $ 3, $ 4, $ 5 happy hour deals in their bar area. The unique thing about Alexander’s is that they have what seems like two different restaurants: one is just the restaurant/dine-in(with one TV), and the other side is a larger bar area, and they also have a staircase going upstairs for more bar space and seating. Check this place out for great service, great food, and great deals!

Wow. The service here was awful. and after working in restaurants in high school I consider myself somewhat forgiving. I felt kind of bad because my friends were pretty vocal about the lack of service, but it was a bit ridiculous. Our waitress took forever to take our orders, fill our drinks, and I had to ask for the check. We were there early on a Saturday evening and there were only 2 – 3 other tables and my friend said he saw her just standing and talking to coworkers. And the food. my burger was very bland, the fries had a decent crunch but everything on my plate was devoid of salt. None of us were particularly pleased with our selections, the one exception being the pizza with crabmeat. I will most definitely not be back.

We stopped at Alexander’s on a summer weekday evening and ate outside, and while it won’t make our favorites list, the people watching might be enough to get us to give it another try. His plate: mac ‘n’ cheese(«Bowtie pasta, 5-cheese blend, panko»); Southern Chicken Tenders(«cornmeal fried») Her plate: Jamaican Chicken(«Jerk-grilled marinated chicken breasts, white rice, asparagus, mango salsa») To share: Local Pickle Chips(«Crispy battered locally grown BMORE Dills, southern slaw, ranch») Digging this out of the archives to write about, I’m pretty sure D’s notes on this meal were«not memorable» and«why did we eat there?» We stopped because they had a jambalaya special, and available outside tables. We stayed because it took the waitress over half an hour to get around to taking our orders, and we were halfway through our drinks, so we felt compelled to stay and pick something else when they said they were out of the jambalaya.(Maybe cross it off on your chalkboard, yeah?) After waiting long enough that we questioned whether they’d forgotten about us again, all of the food arrived at the same time. Appetizers on entrees on plates on plates and more plates. The pickle chips were the highlight — so obviously fresh and not from a Sysco bag, they had lots of flavor and were nicely cooked. D found both the mac and cheese and the chicken tenders boring, lacking any wow factor, and kinda bland. My chicken was overcooked to the point of stringy dryness, only slightly helped by the overly sweet salsa that tasted jarred. I had been looking forward to at least the asparagus being good, but there were only three spears and they weren’t trimmed, so the woody ends had to be snapped off. Not exactly something I wanted to do when paying for a pub entrée, and definitely made me question whether the chef knew that it had to be done.

Tator Tots — if you like them you should be hear. Sure, the burger was pretty good, and they seem to have an extensive menu, but Alexander’s is really putting the emphasis on Tator tots. Nacho Tator Tots, Crab Tator tots… they literally have a section of the menu dedicated to them. I ended up getting it with the crab dip. The tots were good — but the sauce was a bit rich for tots in my opinion… but I cleaned the plate so I can’t complain. The burger — with crab dip — was damn good too. As far as the place goes — we came in through the bar entrance. It looked like a really typical dive bar. As we were about to head up the stairs, a bar tender let us know that the dining area was next door. This lead us to a completely different atmosphere. Really a nice casual restaurant. An odd thing about this place is the specials — you don’t really know what they are. We were informed all burgers were $ 2 off — but I didn’t see this written anywhere. I guess you just have to ask while you’re there!

We stopped in here on a rainy afternoon for lunch and had a decent meal at a cozy place. At our table we had the Broadway chicken, Alexander’s Salad, and an edamame burger. The salad and chicken were nothing special, but a good lunch at a decent price. But I won’t get the edamame burger again. It was just a strange flavor and texture, and just really wasn’t the right thing to make into a burger. There just wasn’t really a flavor at all, just kind of a mush patty. The guacamole was bland as well. It’ didn’t really work on the bun it was served on, because when you bit into it, the burger just mushed to the other end of the bun. I ended up eating it with fork and knife, bun-less. I would go again to Alexander’s because the service was fine, it was decently priced, and besides the burger, everything was fine. I just won’t get that again.

Great place for brunch! Solid menu paired with $ 3 bloody marys is a winning combination. The food was good and the service was excellent. Looking for a good breakfast or brunch place to work off that fells hangover? This is your place.

Alexander’s is a top spot in the city! It’s especially ideal for a dinner date during the Holiday season. This intimate atmosphere and added Christmas décor gives the historic tavern a cozy and intimate charm. We found our inner Santa chub and indulged, ordering the sweet potato bbq tots as an appetizer. TOTS are a MUST! Despite being completely full, we continued onward, splitting the Buffalo Chicken Pizza and the Harvest Salad. I must admit, the Salad was bit dull, BUT the Granny Smith Apple slices were fresh and crisp and it certainly paired well with the delicious pizza. We topped our meal off with their seasonal alcohol infused eggnog, which made this Winter dinner exceptionally memorable.

Came here for a friend’s birthday dinner. Logistically, it was great. They were able to accommodate a large group, and they were great about letting us split up the check — immensely helpful with a group of 15 people. Food-wise, though, I’d say it’s mediocre at best… I ordered the caprese panini based on the recommendation from the server. At first it was bizarre — then I realized that instead of basil, which is normally in caprese sandwiches, it came with what seemed like lettuce and parsley. Not quite interchangeable. I also got a side of the tots. Can’t really go wrong with tots: fried potatoes, but I don’t know if they were«Baltimore’s Favorite». Seems like a really bold statement, but I wasn’t too impressed.

This place so cute and cozy. There’s a lively bar on one side and a quaint dining room on the other. My date and I got a little table in the window. The waitress was very attentive and sweet. I’ll start this by saying if you don’t order anything else get TOTS. As much as I love potatoes I am not a fan of tots at all. My date and I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Tots and BBQ Sweet Potato Tots; both were fantastic! I could have used a little more spice in the buffalo sauce but the flavor was great. The combination of the sweet potato with tangy BBQ sauce and savory pulled pork was to die for. I want to replicate it at home! Even though I was completely satisfied after the tots I ordered the Maryland burger. It was cooked as I requested and the crab dip on top was delicious! I can’t wait to go back. They have happy hour right? Because tots and beer sounds like the perfect combo after a long day of work.
