Comfy and quiet. Bartender was the tits. Free pool on Sundays and the cider kept us warm!

Really fun dive bar in Fells Point that thrives on Michigan State fans. Super fun during college football and Sweet 16 tournament. It’s small enough that you’ll be sure to make friends at the bar: the banter will be flying in no time if you have anything to say about the Spartans! Super cheap drink specials on shitty beers, but you have to love that when you can buy a pint for $ 2. And yes, there is a time and place for Rolling Rock. Like a Saturday afternoon when Michigan State is crushing Eastern Michigan and you’ve already had a few beers. And the crowning achievement here is surely the $ 3 Genny Cream Ales. Dear God, someone give this place a gold star! Or at least four orange ones :)

Smelly dive bar. It smells like an open sewer in here. I think one of the guys at the bar had TB because he was coughing something fierce into a napkin. We got dragged here to do Jello shots… we did our shots and left. Not much going on at this relatively quiet dive bar.

Great bar! Decent drink prices, fun bartenders and typically a good crowd laughing and interacting.

Worst bar in the entire world. Ordered 2 budlight and a water. Handed over a $ 20 and waited… waited…waited…no change. Inquired and was told«did you want the $ 1 back for the tip?» Water is FREE therefore apparently these bud lights were $ 9.00 a piece. They have got to be OUTOFTHEIRMINDS. I argued and said«we are not in manhattan buddy this is absurd». F these people and their dirty sh*thole bar

We come from MA/NH every year for the Preakness, and then spend Sunday in Fells Point. We found this place last year and spent most of the afternoon talking to the friendly bartender and her patron friend, as well as Phil. Can’t wait to go back this year(hey, that’s in 2 weeks!). Food was great and drinks were reasonable. Nice laid back local place.

If nothing else, I can say this is where I met Ms. Aine for the first time. We drank. We laughed. We heckled the chicks concentrating on not stumbling as they walked by in their very impractical footwear. Our party of four made up about a third of the patrons on a Friday night and as of this review, we have 60% of all reviews. That should tell you something. Yeah, you won’t find the throbbing, obnoxious masses here. Well, you might get a group of annoying chicks who want to lie on the bar… but the no nonsense female bartender will no so secretly mock them until they leave. The green Jell-O shots every time Michigan State scored was a nice touch. I’m convinced they were my undoing. Aine’s right… great jukebox… but Jamie S. will not so secretly judge you for every selection. Just play something that wasn’t recorded in the last 30 years and hipsters have never heard of; you’ll be alright. If that doesn’t work, just keep feeding him 24 oz Gennies and he’ll like you anyway. Maybe. It’s a good thing we were only in town for the weekend and don’t live within walking distance all the time. I was down about 30IQ points the entire next day and even in my dumbed down state, I was smart enough to know I’d eventually bankrupt my brain. Three days later, I’ve recovered… for the most part.

Sparty On! Lil Phil’s is a Michigan State bar! Sure there are other bars in town who will sponsor college alumni clubs but Lil Phil’s is the only MSU alumni owned and operated bar in Baltimore. Do I really need to take this review any further? Well, ok, if that’s not as exciting to you as it is to me then let me review the rest of the joint. This is a dirty little gem hidden on Broadway down in Fells Pt. You’ve probably walked past it many times and not noticed it. They kinda like it that way. The knuckleheads will go to other places nearby and that’s even better. Food here is good and specials are generous. Happy Hours are generous as well. 24oz drafts for the price of a pint(at time of review) and their slingin’ 24oz Genesee Cream Ales for $ 3. As the slogan says, there ain’t nothing fancy here. Juke box is on point and tv’s are great size for the bar. People are pretty serious about their pool there too. Mostly the place is laid back and local. Phil, the owner, is like if my old man were a bar tender. Cool to talk to and very approachable but will probably check your ass if you get outta line. I’ll be puttin’ roots down in this place for Spartan games and Lions games. Yes, there still are Lions fans out there… Somewhere.
