La Kris Inn

On day 13 of a 5000-​mile car trip, my sister & I (and her little dog, too) were ready to stopover in Bandon OR. The average hotel rate was $ 140 on that Sunday evening. We decided to drive 20 more miles to Coos Bay for a $ 79 rate. While driving out of town, Le Kris Inn caught our eyes and we stopped. We asked about 2 queen beds, but a king was available. The room was spotless. Hardwood floors. New appliances. Lovely grounds. Free, fast wifi. Coffee maker in room. Tall, great flowing showerhead. DVD player in room with lending library in office. Very friendly owner/​operators. Rooms 11 & 12 get some road noise.

The best bargain I’ve found in a long time. Perfectly clean and well appointed, the Tiny Tim room was perfect for one person. Only $ 50 plus tax but I could only stay one night this trip unfortunatly. But I’ll be back!!!

This place is so cute and clean– beyond worth the price! The staff is so friendly and this might be my favorite hotel I’ve stayed in on my cross country road trip– and the cheapest too! My dog and I loved our stay in a pet friendly room.

We swung in late Friday evening, and checked in to a room. The lady who helped us at the front desk was extremely helpful, and friendly. The room was fairly priced, clean, and comfortable. The only minor complaint was a slight musty smell that many motels on the Oregon suffer from. The Wifi reached our room (#8) and was fast, and reliable. A little bit of street noise could be heard during the day, but wasn’t noticeable at night. All in all it was a great motel especially for the price. I will stay here again next time I’m in Bandon.

Cute, charming hotel on the outside with reasonable rates. The only downfall for me was a bit of a musty, old smell in our room covered up by an overwhelming amount of cleaners when you walk in. We were there for 4 days and it took probably 3 to get rid of it. The bed was comfy but our room had carpet which I personally am not a fan of, due in part because of so much traffic to whomever stays there prior to us. it felt as though there might have been some residue left on it from shampooing/​cleaning it. I do not like to walk barefoot on high use carpet (that is not my own) but again, my own preference and a phobia I have. We found the owners to be very accommodating and very pleasant which made up for any negative feelings we had. I would say that their friendliness and beautiful art would be probably the reason for our return to this hotel.

I usually go for the big name hotels, but after reading the reviews about La Kris we decided to try it. It was so charming, comfortable, and very clean and updated. Steve was wonderful! Thank you!

I would definitely recommend this place. Great customer service they care about their customers. The bed was comfortable, there was a mini fridge and a microwave. I was given a map and told places to go around town.
The only reason why I didn’t give it five stars is because the Wi-​Fi didn’t work and I tried on two devices and it’s right next to 101 so it was a lil. Also the person next to me at 5:30 AM was banging around as if they were amazing moving the furniture or something

The unit was clean and nice, and the owners’ great nature photography decorated the rooms. The bed was comfortable, heat/​AC unit wasn’t loud, and off-​season rates were great. I recommend it.

What a sweet little hotel this is. It looks like nothing from the outside, but on the inside it is «French Country» themed — and very clean. I arrived in town at 10pm with no reservation and the owner/​photographer greeted me bright eyed. Beautiful photography of wildlife btw. Thank you for the clean, quaint, comfortable stay! I will be back, I hope.

La Kris Inn is a nice slice of sanity on a long road.
Bandon, Oregon turned out to be the ½ way point on a major move for my family, and the three trips it took with Uhauls and Trailers all included a good night’s rest at the La Kris Inn.
The parking lot is smallish, but the owners invited us to park our truck safely tucked away behind ‘the hedge’, and they also have parking off the main street for big rigs and large RV’s.
Free Wi-​fi worked great, Cable TV was good enough, and a nice selection of DVD’s in the office, free to borrow.
Really good Chineese food next door, and the girls at the little coffee hut helped bring morning on a little easier by giving us a punch card and chocolate covered espresso beans, yum!
Having the market across the street — open late– is the trifecta feather in this cap; Reasonable Rate /​Clean /​Food Adjacent.
The owners are super nice and friendly. Their photography is available for sale in the office, and can also be viewed on their website. They have taken good care of this roadside inn, and as you drift off to sleep, rather than thinking back on the roadside sheep, you might count the hand stitches in the quilts on the beds and appreciate that someone took a lot of time to make that blanket.
Safe Travels, and Tip the Maid!

My (slightly larger) family have returned from our first visit 2 years ago. Still a little roadside gem. Great rates, CLEAN, and comfortable with wifi.
Next time we are in Bandon we are for sure going to stay here at the La Kris Inn.

The affordable rates drew us in, but we were quite surprised to find such clean and cozy accommodations.
The grounds are landscaped with fuscias, and hydrangeas and in November they were all in bloom. The room we stayed in was bright, super clean, and had a very quaint animal theme. It was decorated with national geographic quality photos of birds, taken by the owners.
I am always happy to find a bath tub instead of a plain shower, this one was sparkling clean, roomy, came with a drain plug (although it didn’t leak) and the hot water was sufficient enough to amply fill the tub.
Thanks for going the extra mile to make the La Kris Inn so special. This will definitely be a regular stop on our coastal migration.

Well Kept. Affordable. Takes reservations online. Fantastic location — walking distance to old town bandon and the beach is just a little farther. Great Wi-​fi. Extremely friendly owners who just so happen to be great photographers as well.
I can’t want to come back and visit Bandon again, and I can’t imagine staying anywhere else.

Quiet little roadside motel next to a big loud road…
That about says it for me. the place is clean. Free Wifi works nicely. Cable TV access is really limited (and only the worst choices are available from what I could tell.) Beds are okay, but not great. Parking is off the highway and protected as much as possible — and they’ve tried to block some of the highway noise with hedges — but it’s just too close.
At any rate — a place to grab 40 winks (30-​ish) on the road south.

Of all the inn and hotels in Bandon, LaKris Inn is the only one that accepts reservations on line. Very clean and grounds well kept. The room is large and easy check in and out.

I want to apologize, years later… My previous review of this establishment was incorrect as I got mixed up on the name of the hotel we stayed out. I am extending an apology and asking that my entire first review be stricken from your minds. The owner contacted me on Unilocal and was incredibly pleasant (not sure if I would be as pleasant if someone badmouthed my establishment while confusing it with another) when and if I am ever again in Bandon I will stay at La Kris for the simple reason that the owner has amazing customer service. Thank you, and again I am sorry!

I’m going to start by saying this place was only $ 75. With that said, it was nicely decorated, there was just a musty old smell in our room, #12, The free wi-​fi didn’t reach our room either which was all the way at the end of the L, closest to the road. Road noise didn’t bother us at all. If you are looking for a decent CHEAP place to stay, I do recommend this.

We think this place is a steal. Great energy, clean, good prices, takes pets, charming. Will come again.

Great for the business traveler. Free Wifi, microwave in room. Grocery store across the street. Didn’t hit my card with a huge security deposit. Very comfortable bed. They have been updating their rooms lately and I personally loved Room 12, even though there was alot of street noise. Huge bed. Very clean.
