Cool vibe, friendly and engaging staff and, the best part, Coffee by Design coffee. Thought it couldn’t get any better than that but refills are free. Amen! Maybe I’m spoiled with my Portland breakfast spots, but my breakfast sandwich was nothing special. Your basic frozen/microwaved or otherwise quickly heated food. I’d skip it next time. Maybe lunch is better?

Great spot for lunch. I pretty much love everything on the menu but I am in love with all the pizzas. In my opinion it’s the very best pizza you can get in Bangor. Bangor, in general, has terrible pizza but Giaccomo’s stands in a class by itself. It’s funny because I’m not sure it’s even a signature item on their menu. Most people LOVE the soup. I am also in that category.

On a day trip to Bangor, I looked to Unilocal to choose a place for my husband and I to have lunch. Giacomo popped up with great reviews, so that was the winner. The staff was super-friendly and there’s a decent number of places to sit. The interior is cute and comfortable, with lots of great places to sit for people watching. There’s a great selection of drinks and everyone can find something to enjoy on the menu. The main focus is paninis, but they also have pizza and salads. My husband ordered the Effin A pizza and I had the Grilled Chicken Sandwich. There wasn’t much talking during the meal because we enjoyed it so much. This is a great place to come for a quick but delicious lunch. We didn’t test out their wifi, but I saw a few folks on their laptop, so I’d guess it’s decent at least. We also shared a chocolate chip cookie and I would have happily eaten the entire cookie myself — it’s dang good!

Driving from CAN-A-DAH… using the Unilocal app… entered lunch, current location, search… shama-lama-ding-dong… ding dong. The GF and I had an excellent lunch here… we brought our dog too, sat outside on a sunny afternoon… the Staff provided water for BenBen… Everythang in here is good. You walk in. And want everythang. Even the ice tea was good. From memory I had a turkey sandwich, and my GF had one of their salads… And we both remarked during dining how good it was… The cookies in the joint look really good too. Yeaahhh, yeaahhhh. Big time. Big time.

This is a hustle bustle downtown location where the locals meet. They have a very interesting and fun menu. Whatever you order it will be tasty, tho I did find the first time I went it a little confusing on where to order, pay and pick up-but people are helpful.

Came here for lunch when we were visiting my parents. Fun little hipster place with good sandwiches and delicious pizza — we got the spinach and goat cheese, yum(big enough for two people to share, pizzas range from about $ 11 – 15)! I also tried a chai latte because the weather was cold and rainy, perfect thing to warm me up.

Solidly good sandwiches and soups. Great stop for coffee and a pastry in the morning. They have beer and wine as well. Grab a seat outside with a beer and a sandwich and you’ve got a great lunch!

Some incredible sandwiches with fresh ingredients. I had the BBQ pork and hubby had the roasted pork. Perfectly made.

Very nice clean gourmet food store(deli) with fresh bread, excellent service and great baked goods. Don’t miss the chocolate chip cookies for Dessert. Simple décor, casual ambience and they have barstools and tables if you want to stay and dine in.

Overcooked eggs and super skimpy amount of cream cheese on a store bought bagel. Asked where the bagels come from, was told… ‘the store’. Scary Spice looking employee couldn’t care less about helping me order. One good point, they do carry Taylor ham, for those inclined.

I would highly recommend having breakfast here. Their breakfast sandwiches are both unique and tasty. They have a great selection of pastries as well. The«red roasted pepper & smoked Gouda bisque» is quite possibly one of the best soups I have ever tasted.

This is one of my favorite lunch spots in Bangor. On a nice day, I love sitting out on the patio and searching desperately for the man walking around with the python around his neck. On chillier days, the tall top tables inside are great for small group lunch dates. My husband and I typically split a sandwich and order a cup($ 5.50) or bottomless($ 7.50) soup(you’ll get the best bang for your buck if you get the bottomless option, but you better have an appetite as their soups are filling). My personal favorite soup is the Roasted Red Pepper and Gouda soup. It is amazing by itself or as a dipping sauce for the Genoa Salami sandwich. If this soup is on special, you must try it! My other favorite sandwich options are their Tre Formaggi, Vegetable Antipasto and their Boar’s Head specials. Each sandwich is served with a pickle and a bag of chips, so just try not to make eye contact with the larger bags of chips near the cash register. I often fall victim to the BBQ or Sea Salt and Vinegar and now have a stash of plain potato chips in my cabinet at home. They have a bunch of drink options, including the Jones brand line(what up, Cream Soda!?). Their sandwiches are definitely pricey($ 8 – 10) but so worth it. This is a hot spot for locals in the morning as well and I must admit, their pastry case looks amazing. One of my favorite things about Giacomo’s is the giant mob scene shoot out mural on the wall. Give Giacomo’s a chance, you won’t be dissapointed!

Visiting the area and looking for a sandwich shop with an outdoor patio where our dog could join us. This worked great. Nice place with good vibe and friendly staff. We had the hot pastrami and grilled cheese. The hot pastrami was fine, a bit dry. The grilled cheese looked great but the bread was a bit stale and the sandwich needed another element or two… kind of one note. A small bag of chips comes with each sandwich.

My wife and I came here on a trip from Kansas. I was not crazy at all about ordering a LobsterAlfredo pizza… but my wife insisted. WOW! Incredible! I literally craved this for months after! Will come back again and again!

Great pizza and really good salads. The free wifi wasn’t bad either! The highlight may have been watching failed parallel parking attempts… No wonder there is a parallel parking instructional image on the window!

I have never been disappointed when I’ve had lunch at Giacomo’s. The staff is always smiling and friendly and the food fresh. The inside is clean and the small outside deck is a great touch for the warmer months. It’s impossible for me to get a sandwich there and NOT also get one of their really tasty dessert options, which change daily. My favorite sandwich hands-down is the Catracy with prosciutto added(known on the old menu as the Rhoman Holiday). Highly recommended.

This place never disappoints. The lamb panini is top notch. The duck panini is just as good.

Excellent food! I was brought here for a business lunch and it was an excellent recommendation. I had a wrap and my husband had a sandwich. Both were excellent. They have a great drink selection and good coffee. BUT, the best part of this trip was the warm peanut butter cup cookie I had for dessert. I think it was the best cookie I’ve ever had and trust me, I’ve had a lot of cookies in my time! I also hear the cannolis are excellent, but you have to get there early!

Recently moved to the Bangor area from Austin Texas. We were looking for places to eat in town, as we hadn’t unpacked our kitchen yet. The sandwiches are great! I had a daily special, which was a steak sandwich with some kind of sauce mornay and mushrooms on top. really tasty, and not overcooked. S/O had pastrami sandwich, which was also excellent. Service was friendly and quick, even though there was a good sized line. Minus one star for having an absolutely horrible espresso. Like seriously bad. This is however, the ONLY negative comment i have to make about the business. Would recommend, and will definitely be back!

If you are offering a «Bottomless Bowl Of Soup» on your menu, either alert your customers that you’ll be running out of soup soon or DON’T SELLIT. Disappointing. If I weren’t there with a colleague, I might have said something. We enjoyed the pastrami on marble rye, as well as the(taste of) roasted Red Pepper & Smoked Gouda Bisque. They could also work on: Giacomo’s Whoopie Pie, as it was dry and hard around the edges. Step it up, especially since the Friar’s Bake House is making amazing whoopie pies just a few doors down.
