Good Food and Cheap Beer! Four adults had 3 different deli sandwiches and a burger. The meat and veggies in the sandwiches were very fresh a and tasty. Good portion sizes, not crazy huge, but left full. Cheap beer as well, $ 3 local drafts and $ 2 Bud/Miller lights. PBR and High Life are a a buck. Would definitely return.

Decent sandwiches; advertised as «overstuffed» sandwiches though I’d say they have less meat than a subway sub. Soup is never good, seems like from a can. My reason for the 2 stars is mainly the employees are very unpleasant on more than one occasion. Dirty atmosphere doesn’t seem too clean. Needs new management.

Best BLT. And awesome breakfast burrito. Why can’t I get a good BLT anywhere? It’s either not toasted or no mayo or they put other stuff on it like cheese egg or turkey when all I ask for is a B-L-T. Dunn’s does it right.(Feel free to use that as a tag line)

Located right down the street from Lees-McCrae college in Banner Elk is Dunn’s Deli. Great central location. Have eaten here a couple of times when going up for the Wooly Worm Festival. Solid deli sandwiches. The St. Patty is my favorite — putting potato salad on a corned beef on rye sandwich is a great tasting idea — slather on horseradish and it gets even better! Lots of other choices plus a good selection for kids. Usually one or two beers on tap for Daddy! During event times this place can get busy!

Yummmmmyyyyyyy!!! #7 is awesome! Prices are spot on! The inside could use some work, cleanliness could be a problem for some.

Dunn’s Deli is a locally owned deli that offers daily specials of sandwich and soup. The Reuben is one of the best I’ve had. Service is adequate and the dining area is much like eating on someone’s back porch. We love the quaintness of it and the food is delicious. They offer draft beer and wine too.

Overly buttered under cooked and very over priced for the tiny sandwhich we received. This was our first and last visit. Also they wrapped the pickle right into the sandwich. This made the sandwich even soggier. This also added a strong pickle taste. Not to mention I do not even like pickles and I normally give it to someone. Most«good» delis splurge a bit on an extra piece of parchment paper and wrap the pickle separately. And since they charge such ridiculous prices I am sure an extra piece of parchment would not be that big of a deal. The only positive thing I can say about this place is that they serve Boar’s Head Meats and Cheeses. There was no light on in their deli case which was a huge turn off for me as well. I really wish I had just walked out.

I really like this little deli that appears to be in an old auto parts store downtown. The only reason I don’t give it 5 stars is because of the building itself. Their sandwiches are really great and the choices are vast. I have eaten there dozens of times and each item I have ordered has been great. The prices are great also. They even have a couple of beers on tap. One is usually an American pilsner for the not so adventurous. The other is usually a craft beer. They also have a cooler with a pretty good selection of bottled beer. If you don’t mind the venue, this is a great place for you to grab a quick, cheap meal. As for the other reviews regarding the wait time for your food, I have never found this to be a problem. After ordering at the counter, each of my meals has always been prepared in a timely fashion over the four years I have been eating here. In point of fact, I will be sure to eat there this weekend when I am visiting the area again. See you there!!!

I brought my 2 year old here for a late breakfast while my husband and older child skied at Sugar Mountain. We had pancakes, eggs and potatoes with bacon plus coffee and an orange juice. The portion was perfect for the two of us to share and the food was great! The pancakes were fluffy and delicious and the eggs were cooked exactly how I like them. The coffee was only okay, but it was hot! The staff(the owner and a cook) were friendly and the service was pretty quick. The place was empty but several people came in for to go orders while we were there. We didn’t get a chance to go back but would have liked to try the rest of the menu! Definitely a spot to hit!

Great sandwiches! By far the best meal we had while staying on Beech Mtn. The menu is pretty big so there is something for everyone. The service was fast and the employees were friendly. We will definitely stop in again the next time we head to the mountains.

Our sandwiches took an hour and the attitude we received from the staff was pretty poor. Sad because we love to support the locals! Update. Before we left, the owner came over to apologize and brought us a free beer. Don’t often change reviews but it was a stand up response.

Lunch prices range from $ 2.35 to $ 7.50, and you can choose from sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs, salads, and wraps. I was feeling like something«Irish», so I opted for a St. Patty’s while my boyfriend ordered The Avalanche. The Avalanche had an odd mix of flavors — roast beef, ham, mozzarella, sourdough, cucumber, red onion, and blue cheese. The ingredients that it could have done without were the ham, mozzarella, and cucumber slices — they misconstrued the desired flavors. The St. Patty’s was on point and was my favorite out of the two: corned beef, potato salad, muenster cheese, onion, mustard, horseradish, and lettuce on rye bread. The only odd topping was the potato salad, which I found to not be as «warm» as stated on the menu. The interior of this place is an odd mix of yellow and green painted walls, plastic lawn chairs, «Irish» items(Guinness beer), and sports memorabilia — so I’m not sure what kind of atmosphere this place is striving to achieve. I found the Christmas decorations by the counter to be a bit out of place… It’s February, people! Service-wise, this place was relatively quick — serving up our sandwiches in five minutes. If you’re ordering to-go, ask for the pickle to be wrapped separately or you will find your sandwich to be slightly soggy once you reach your designated eating spot.

Pre-hike pit stop for post hike sammiches! I spotted this deli on our first night in town and wanted to stop by for a take out lunch on our way to hike Linville Falls. We ended up ordering the Avalanche and the St. Patrick. After ten minutes, our food was ready and we were on our way. We decided to eat at a picnic table in Linville and the sammiches were still warm. Both came wrapped with a pickle spear and were delicious. The avalanche was hearty with a great mix of toppings of melted mozzarella and red onion on hot roast beef and capicola. The blue cheese and cucumber were the kickers on the toasted sourdough. Of the two though, the St. Patty was the best. The corned beef was delicious on grilled rye and melted muenster. The potato salad on top was a welcomed surprise with a kick of horseradish in the background. Dunn’s deli offers down to earth accommodations for customers and tasty sandwiches for locals and visitors at a reasonable cost. I will be back to try some of their other creations and get a bucket of beers!
