Worked well for a larger party of folks(9), friendly service. Food was good. With a lot of tourists in Bar Harbor, most places are very busy, this is a bit on the edge of the city and is not as busy, and works well for groups.

Service is fine, but food was quite poor and overpriced. The best way to describe it is as if a teenager was trying out online recipes of Mexican dishes in the back and experimenting with exactly how much he/she can profit when using such low quality ingredients. Nothing authentic about it. But again, service was good.

food is good, nachos, tacos and Fajitas. Beer is cold and service is great. My only recommendation is to get flour tortillas with your fajitas.

This place served my husband and me truly two of the most profoundly disgusting meals we have ever attempted to consume. The enchilada sauce was canned, sugary sweet syrup, the hot sauces were spoiled and separated, and the queso tasted like microwaved velveeta with diced tomatoes inside. The rice was instant, the chips were cold. No music was playing, the tables were slightly sticky, and the wait staff entirely absent. We filled our own water glasses from a pitcher we saw behind the counter. My husband and I found this place while on our honeymoon– we were searching for a reasonably priced Mexican meal. We are not fussy eaters, and neither of us have ever felt inclined to post a Unilocal review before. But this meal was so entirely heinous that we couldn’t help but share our experience with others. Please, please, please do not go here.

We found this restaurant on a tourist map and visited this spot completely based on its funny name(Friend of the Devil). The service was so friendly but unfortunately the food was very ‘meh’.

We found this restaurant while wandering around Bar Harbor one evening. We were looking for a low key place to have dinner with our two young children. Since we were on the early side for dinner, the dining area was mostly empty, which was great for our toddler. We ordered for her first and took our time enjoying a margarita and the complimentary chips and salsa. Both mine and my husband’s meals were excellent. The fish tacos were really fresh and very tasty. The salad with chicken was also fantastic and filling. We also ordered guacamole and found it to be very good and not bland at all. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. We would have gone here again for dinner had we been in town longer.

We went here an a very cold Bar Harbor evening. They were having a half price special on margaritas and we were sold. The Grande margaritas were tasty. The menu is limited, tacos, burritos, chimichangas, fajitas and quesadillas. The do serve brunch on Sundays as well. We started off with complimentary chips and salsa, which were good. We ordered the guacamole to go with it and unfortunately it was a little bland. It was fresh and well made and we did get a generous amount, but it needed a little lime juice and maybe a touch of salt. I added a little salt and it helped a lot. We both ordered the chicken fajitas, which when they arrived are not the traditional fajitas served on a sizzling platter. They were also served in a bit of red sauce. While not traditional at all, they were really tasty. The fajitas were served with rice and beans. The rice was really, really bland. The beans though were super flavorful and may be the best refried beans I have ever had. I think they just opened a few months ago. If they expanded the menu a bit and worked on seasoning some of the items it would get four stars. I would return if I were in the area.

We were looking for something aside from the standard Maine lobster dinner and wound up here. It was a very good Latin dinner with solid flavors and decent prices. Notably, the steak fajitas used real steak(we were surprised to be asked how we wanted the steak cooked — it came out perfectly medium, tender and thinly sliced) and the refried beans had a ton of flavor(not expected for any Mexican restaurant). I’d absolutely recommend — was surprised to see the average rating so low despite the reviews stating that the food was good(see the two star review).
