I’m sorry, Havana, we were disappointed this time, and I’m not sure we will be back. We had such a great time last time we went, so I’m sad about this. I reserved way ahead, but we were seated at a tiny table in the direct blast of cold air from wherever the back area leads. There were people going in and out of there all the time. It was really very distracting and hard to enjoy our meal. When the hostess seated us, I asked if we could sit in one of the tables near the front, and she said«OHNO, those are RESERVED.». Well… I also reserved, but on the reservation site, I didn’t see a way to reserve a certain table in the restaurant! The food was okay, but really pricey for what it was, the mojitos were good. I just found it very hard to enjoy our evening out with the cold blasts from the back door. When we go out, we don’t just go out to eat food. We want to enjoy ourselves, and a big part of that is the ambience.

Amazing dinner tonight. We were initially welcomed by a gracious hostess who took us to the back room, which was warm and beautiful. The Wine list is impressive and I had a nice glass of Viognier. The smoked meat and bean soup was caliente and the Brussels sprout app was roasted to perfection. The lobster bolanase with rooted veggies was to die for in the cream tomato sauce. Filet mignon was tender and delicious. We had a great opportunity to chat with a proprietor, Michael, who was very interesting and fun. Great night.

I really liked this restaurant when I was visiting Maine. I had the Lamb and also tried the Paella and it was delicious. The owner of the restaurant personally stopped by our table just to make sure everything was going okay and he was really friendly and nice. Great atmosphere in the restaurant too. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone staying in Bar Harbor.

The first thing you’ll notice at Havana if you’re Cuban is this not a Cuban restaurant. Everything on the menu was kind of pricey. We ordered the Paella and the Pork Chop. The Paella was fantastic and they didn’t skimp on the seafood(lobster, shrimp, scallops, mussels.). The pork chop wasn’t dry and the sauce was festive including pumpkin purée. Overall, we were quite pleased with the food. Our Polish waitress was polite and eager to answer all of our questions.

Overall this was a breath of fresh air if you’ve been indulging one too many lobster rolls. The menu was creative and tasty. Our drinks were also great(try the pisco sour!). The bread and blueberry house made cornbread they brought to the table with three different dip/butter/oil to try with was excellent. I got the seafood paella which I was really excited to try. It was good but really really salty. The seafood was cooked just right. Portions are also great so it makes it feel more worth it with the price tag. Would recommend but maybe ask for less salt on the paella.

A pleasant surprise, a gem in BarHarbor; the service, atmosphere, and food were superb. We returned the following night! Paella was excellent.

Wow! We booked the reservation via Open Table 30 minutes before; it was rated 4.5 stars on Unilocal. We had an amazing dinner. Mussels and scallops for appetizers. Both very good. Then entrees of lobster and the paella. Delicious! We ate slowly to savor the flavors. Tres leeches and cappuccino for dessert topped off a wonderful meal. Service was great and ambiance was nice. Overheard another waitress tell the party behind us that President Obama sat at that table. Would recommend and come back in a heartbeat.

My wife and i had a wonderful dinner at Havana. I had the tuna, perfectly prepared and she had the pulled pork. As we finished the owner passed by our table and we passed on our very favorable comments. A good bet for a great dinner.

This is a great spot and more than expected. The Latin flair is the keyword here! Grilled shrimp and avocado salad… with a hint of heat Mussels appetizer –wow The recommended lobster in a coconut broth was incredible and my pan seared scallops great! Along with very friendly service this place is winner

So there is a Havana Restaurant(super formal and fancy) connected to a Havana Parrilla(more like a bar, more casual with a younger vibe). We went to the Parrilla. Good service and good selection for alcohol. However, was pretty disappointed with their oysters. Food was a bit overpriced while the drinks were reasonable. Got the Local Pork Chops for an entrée and while the cilantro crème, chimichurri, and pork chops themselves were great, the rice was overcooked and it was served over an inedible piece of kale. Would recommend this place more for drinks than dinner.

We had a wonderful meal at Havana. We chose it because it had one of the more unique menus in Bar Harbor and it was totally worth it. We had the crab cakes, empanadas, and pork which were all delicious. The blueberry cornbread cannot be missed. Highly recommend Havana if you’re looking for a nice meal in Bar Harbor.

Havana is a great place to visit for tourists. Me and my family ordered a bunch of entrees to share. We got the lobster broth which was good. We also got the empanadas which were veryy good! Another entrée we got was the filet mignon steak which was the least good of all Havana’s dishes. I do not recommend the filet mignon. The fourth and last entrée we got was the«fish of the day» which was the swordfish, it was also good. For deserts we ordered the tres leches(good) and the avocatto(excellent). The restaurant was great overall. After all we did see Martha Stewart leaving! :)

Fan.tast.ic. Really, this place is far and away the best food on the island. A must visit anytime we’re in town. Professional accommodating service, but the food, oh the food! Everywhere else in Bar Harbor is your standard lobster roll, steamed lobster tourist fair. When you get sick of that, get into Havana, you will not be disappointed.

My group gave this restaurant so much trouble, I’m amazed that they were able to accommodate us so well throughout the meal. We were seated immediately as we arrived, but due to certain circumstances, a few members from our party had to step out for a bit of time. We took our time ordering the food, but half of us ended up ordering their meals first. As the remaining members returned, we were given the amuse bouche to start. The starters were so good that it quickly took our minds off of how underdressed we were. I personally ordered the Chicken with mole sauce and the crab cake appetizer. Though it wasn’t visually appealing, everything about my entrée was great. The crab cake was amazing as well. A few of us ended up splitting entrees as so we were pretty surprised when the staff offered to split our tab for us. The service at Havana is exceedingly above par and their food is definitely worth trying. Thank you for the meal.

This restaurant is worthy is be graded with 5 stars for their food, service and environment!!! We had a reservation and were greeted by the hostess upon entrance and were seated immediately! Our server was great and very attentive! The food were amazing, the prices are a bit pricey; but you get what you pay for. All the food we ordered were delicious, I will attached the pictures for your viewing. It’s worth the money so if you’re around Bar Harbor, pay them a visit but make sure you make a reservation ahead of time.

Great service, excellent food and very nice ambiance. Started with complimentary blueberry cornbread with honey butter and white bean paste. Very yummy. Still warm and moist and soft. I can just eat that as a meal. Appetizers, seared scallop, crab cakes and mussels are all delicious with just the right amount of flavor and spices. Entrée: Lobster Moqueca is the best, with the right amount of coconut milk and spices. Seafood Paella is full of fresh seafood and flavor. Cochinita Pibil is good too. Dessert, we tried the flan, tres leche, and chocolate cake are just good. I am not a fan of spice in my dessert. Is it a Maine thing? Overall this is a restaurant I will definitely recommend to everyone. The restaurant is a bit more upscale than I expected. We went in right after our bike tour in our bike outfit. We still got the best service as at a four star restaurant.

The service was so-so to below standards for the prices here. the food is getting the 3 stars I had the gazpacho which was done right, not overpriced or too much cream. The Empanadas were awesome and done perfect, nice thick shell and very flavorful.

Have been here many times over the years. This year’s take: service better(thanks to Fawn, our server), décor ok(ask for front room), food ok, but pricey, wine: excellent – very deep list at very reasonable prices. We had salads(a little tired looking), mixed grill app for two(ok, they subbed out peppers for zucchini – thanks – but meat over grilled a bit), and scallops(ok, but mushy, so not as fresh as could be). Will likely go back, but not the top of the pack. Check out mâché, burning tree, and red sky reviews — as we’ll be revisiting these too on our annual Bar Harbor sojourn…

Service and food was excellent. Paella was hearty and seafood was fresh. Pork dish also big and tasty. Local beers on tap and good selection of wines by the glass. Definitely a keeper.
