Beautiful store & lots of great hand made jewelry hand made in Maine! I purchased hand made earrings & I think I’m headed back to get the matching bracelet!

Was on vacation in Bar Harbor, and was super excited to check out this shop! Since we were busy spending time in the gorgeous outdoors, every time I went to the shop it was closed. Before leaving Bar Harbor I was determined to go to this shop, so after checking their hours, 10a-6p daily, I went at 10a to an empty dark store, mind you this is Saturday of Columbus day weekend. No one opened the store, I waited for over a half an hour and no one showed. Very disappointing.

This is our 2nd year of coming to bar harbor for vacation and we love coming to this shop! It has such cool things to buy and look at! A gem of a find for the downtown area of Bar Harbor, which is mostly touristy shops filled with stuff with«Bar Harbor» plastered all over it. This shop is different and has things you actually want! Lots of rocks, fossils, and various insects! Sooooo cool! I bought this cool beetle pin(that once was alive!) such a cool conversation piece! Definitely check this place out!!!

This place was friggin’ awesome! A truly unique shopping experience in an ocean of expected tourist junk shops. My wife is an avid collector of weird natural stuff so this place delivered a religious experience for her. As one of the other reviewers mentioned, it’s like being in a natural history museum. We also regret not buying more stuff but they said they’re working on an ecommerce site that should be up soon. Their story is interesting too — it’s a family business. The father works in the store while the son is out scouring the world for natural oddities. It’s a obviously a labor of love. You can feel the passion behind the items in the store. It feels like a curated collection that you can get your hands on at reasonable prices. Also, the signs accompanying the products are fantastic. My wife and I are both designers/writer so we were geeking out over them. They are beautifully designed and hand lettered and humous — they added a great texture to the experience in the store. It’s like J. Peterman from Seinfeld and Louis CK had a baby and he grew up to make signs for this store. Awesome.

easily the best place we checked out in bar harbor. it’s somewhere in between a natural history museum and a really interesting, reasonably-priced store! i only regret not getting more stuff! would DEFINITELY go back next time we’re in the area!

This is a great shop filled with interesting items. I live in Bar Harbor and stop in here with regularity. The shopkeeper and staff are always friendly and lovely to chat with. Amazingly, it’s dog friendly, though I always keep the pup close. They have a great selection of items you didn’t know you needed as well as great gift items. Love love love this shop!

This was my favorite shop I went into while in Bar Harbor for the week. They have some of the coolest and rarest pieces of history and artifacts that I’ve ever seen. And they’re all for purchase. I can’t even describe some of the things for sale, they had swordfish skeletons, spider webs under glass(really cool) and a few pieces of art made from rare trees that I was incredibly tempted to buy. If you’re in Bar Harbor, stop in here, if’s worth spending 15 minutes in just looking at everything. It’s like a living museum but better.

Amazing natural history store selling things I usually only see in a museum. The seem to have reasonable prices and are very knowledgable. Fossils, skeletons, jewelery, minerals, butterflies, seashells, snakeskin, turtle shells. Too much to list here. Very glad I ran across the store.
