Decent food, good not great pizza, $ 3.00 for a plain slice. What’s a plain pie, $ 24.00?! Ridiculous. I get it, it’s located in Basking Ridge, yada yada, the price of everything is already higher but if I’m going to pay $ 3.00 for one plain slice, it better knock my socks off.

I have been going to Café Figaro for years(pizzeria side — but need to try the restaurant side!). I have ordered many items off of the menu and haven’t been disappointed in any of them! My family and I routinely get pies from them on the weekends and are always pleased with the taste and varieties of pizzas they have to offer. Parking is super easy in the Dewy Meadow Village, which always makes life easier. And they have a liquor license so you can enjoy some of the beer on tap with you pizza which is always fun!

Food is solid. I ordered the Shrimp Risotto and it was delicious. The place is really big… they have a nice dining area as well as a café sit down spot. I only took off 1 star because the service was a bit gruff.

From the outside, you might think it was strictly a pizza place, but its also a fantastic Italian restaurant. Its located in a strip mall, so there is plenty of parking. Inside is clean, with booths and tables to sit at. They have an alcohol license with beer, wine, and spirits. The alcohol prices are similar to what restaurants charge. The food is priced about average for restaurant prices, but it is outstanding. I’ve had both the eggplant parm and one of the seafood dishes — both were terrific! I haven’t had the pizza or any of the sandwiches, so I can’t offer an opinion on those. In nice weather, there are a few outdoor tables you can sit at. If you are in the area, I definitely recommend stopping in.

EXCEPTIONAL, OLDSCHOOLQUALITYSERVICE Even in the casual dining room, the wait staff is always very attentive. I’ve dined at many upscale restaurants whose service doesn’t come close to the consistent, vigilant, predictive service here. Their service is part of the reason why we love dining there and continue to go back every week. FRESHFOOD From the pasta to vegetables to chicken wings, everything always tastes super fresh and handmade. DEMWINGS The chicken wings are a must! They have a thick, super crunchy fried outer layer. I don’t know what they use to bread the chicken, but they’re exceptionally crunchy and flavorful without dripping with grease. DON’T SKIPDESSERT I am *not* a dessert person, I generally skip sweets after dinner. My friends got a few different things to try and all tasted homemade and heavenly.

One of my new favorite pizza spots. Great place to stop in for a quick convenient casual dinner. They always have a good selection of slices to go. You can’t go wrong with a chicken parm sub and cold draft beer. I’ve never had a bad entrée here. I highly recommend stopping in the next time you are in the neighborhood.

(Pizza Review Only) I really wanted to like this place since it was only a mile from home, but the pizza was a no go. Let me preface this by saying that I LOVELOVE pizza, but it must be good, thin crust, NY style pizza. The only good part about their pizza was that the crust held up — it wasnt soggy like most fresh pies from pizzerias. It had a nice crispiness but soft center. But the bread/dough itself was very bland, like they forgot to add salt to it or something. The cheese to sauce ratio was slacking, some spots barely had any cheese at all. The sauce was tart also. If you are not picky at all about pizza and don’t care about wasting calories on meh pizza then the pizza is for you! Bruno’s couple miles down the road in A&P shopping mall in center of Warren was much better(and btw they make their own pasta). Next time i’ll stop being so lazy and just go there.

Italian comfort food two ways: slices & calzones from the counter on the right side of the house; traditional red-sauce entrees with table service on the left side of the house. Full bar service both sides with good draft beer! Absolutely nothing gourmet about the food at Café Figaro, but very friendly people and quick service, even outdoor tables, definitely A-OK. Offers 4 taps, pints $ 5.50 each: Coors light, Yuengling, Stella Artois and Spaten. Now I don’t mind paying that for a glass of fine German beer, but it’s outrageous for the old silver bullet :) Light on selection but reasonable prices at the bar: cocktails $ 9, martinis $ 11, wines by the glass $ 7. We walked in to the casual side, spotted slices at the counter, ordered there, they brought the food out when it was hot which took almost zero time. I got a spinach, ricotta and mozarella calzone, obviously previously baked and reheated, came with a little side of house red sauce, a decent lunch for $ 7. Garlic knots were a bit tough altho exceptionally garlicy in a good way. Vegetarian rating: 3 stars for the respectable selection. Obviously you can choose your own pizza toppings but also there are traditional veg entrees like eggplant parmigiana, baked manicotti and ziti Siciliano; also salads. Saw a Unilocaler complaining about prices not matching the menu. Definitely noticed that the prices on the big board behind the counter didn’t always match the printed paper menu, like cheese fries $ 3 vs. $ 4.50, so your mileage may vary here. Really this is two places in one, so interpreting those Unilocaly«good for.» tips is tricky lol. Left side carpeted and quiet; right side tiled and noisy. Left side romantic, good for groups and adults; right side bare bones formica, good for kid pizza parties. And so on.

Love Figaros. I am always taken care of when I am at this Italian restaurant. The bread is great and the chicken cutlet entrees are very good. Vinny is the best and will go out of his way to make sure you are satisfied. Their lemon cake is top notch as well. If you are in this area definitely make the trip.

My boyfriend and I stopped at this shopping center just to grab a quick bite and use a bathroom. I’m so glad we didn’t go to Dunkin or Quiznos. We tried their white pizza and liked it. We also shared a cheese & spinach calzone – a MUSTHAVE with any pizza. I can’t pinpoint it but there’s a saucy/oily ingredient they put in it that gives it a mouthwatering taste. Overall, it was spontaneous and pleasant turnout :)

My oven was out of commission last Friday 9/12, so I decided to get a take-out pizza from CF after quite a few of my friends over the years have raved about their pizza. I ordered a large with peppers, onions and sausage. I would say overall it was fair/good — as I prefer the pizza dough to be more chewy than bread-like… although the green peppers and sausage were very good as well as the sweet tomato sauce. Friendly staff, clean and convenient location will probably bring me back.

My wife and I like this place for a quick sit down dinner or for pick up on the way home from work. Their sandwiches are pricey but good. Example, I ordered the grilled chicken and broccoli rabe sandwich which I think was $ 9-$ 10 and didn’t come with anything and wasn’t big enough to justify that price. However, it is a great sandwich. The pizza is the best I’ve had in Basking Ridge(We’ve only lived here for 4 months, though) and the wings are better than I usually expect from a pizza place. The ravioli was solid. My wife actually preferred it to my uncle’s restaurant and he’s from Sicily. I won’t go as far as my wife but still, it is a pretty well-done dish. Overall, it’s a nice little place.

Food is very basic and portions leave much to be desired. Their specials are normally the same and all really lack a punch. The Osso Bucco was pretty good but the risotto was very dry. The chicken parmigiana is okay and their seafood dishes are well prepared but nothing extraordinary. Overall it’s an okay place to get standard Italian food but prices are on the high side.

Be careful– carefully calculate what you think your bill should be before paying. More than once they overcharged us, and claimed an innocent mistake like, «Oh, did you only get 2 sodas, I thought it was 3. Sorry.» Once we realized it was a recurring«mistake», we stopped going even though we liked their food. Felt they were dishonest.

Very disappointing dinner. Food was incredibly salty and ridiculously overpriced. They gave me 4 salty ravioli and charged $ 18.95 for the dish. We were still hungry when we left and we paid over $ 50 for 2 dishes and 1 glass of wine. We will never go here again.

I read the prior reviews and I respect them but we only ordered sandwiches and they were not bad at all. Chicken parm and chicken Francese sandwiches with a beer. Both very tasty and hot. We actually enjoyed it. I’m not sure how the pizza or other dinners are but we will try them if we come back.

The locals flock to this place as if Mario Batali cooks here. Clearly, he does not. 3rd time and you’re out for me. None of the dishes have ever been very special(penne with vodka, meh… never any fettucine noodles for alfredo, wth… pizza is bland and sub-par. No taste.) And my previous review of their dried out chicken parm still stands. Last weekend, i got burned again literally and overpaid($ 16.95 for each entrée). I’ve never met a chicken worth $ 16.95… well, not in this town anyway. I’m over this place permanently.

When the best thing you eat are the fries… you’ve got issues. I stopped in with the family and they were quite crowded on a Saturday evening. We ordered a pie and an order of fries. The pizza was hot and fresh however it had NO taste. There are sadly better places to have food in the area but we stopped here to get a quick bite. Again the fries were good but that’s not saying much is it when its a pizza place…

We absolutely love this place! Ask for Venne(Vinny) — he will take care of you! We prefer the tri-colour salad and the hot sandwiches rather than the pizza but it’s all very well done — AND you can get a beer too. Try that at your other pizza café!
