We’re here in Bass Lake for a week every year, and although Ducey’s has been inconsistent over the years we thought we’d give it another shot this year and we were very glad we did. The food and service was the best we’ve had here. Hope it continues to maintain this level. The only take backs were that the salads were slow in coming while others were eating appetizers. Maybe we should have asked but we weren’t asked either. Our waitress had a mishap which probably contributed to the delay. Otherwise she was very nice and very attentive.

My husband and I, along with another couple, spent Memorial Day Weekend at Bass Lake. Overall the trip to Bass Lake was amazing, however, the one bad experience we had was our dinner on Sunday evening at Ducey’s on the lake. We arrived for dinner around 5:00pm and were seated right away. We were greeted almost immediately and they came to take our order quickly and our server was incredibly friendly. Everything was going great until after an hour of waiting for our food the server told us that the kitchen had missed our ticket and they just started to cook our food. By the time the food arrived, my meal, the teriyaki chicken was inedible. The chicken tasted like it had been sitting out under a heating lamp for the entire hour and was so chewy that I had one bite and couldn’t eat it. Since it had taken us so long to get our food, I couldn’t re-order as we had to return our boat across the marina by 7:00pm. We complained to our server, who offered us a discount of $ 12 off of our $ 140 tab, they didn’t even want to comp the meal that I couldn’t eat. The server went back to the manager who said the best they could do was $ 18 off of our $ 140 tab. In the end we spent a lot of money on horrible food and had to wait almost 2 hours. The Manager didn’t even have the decency to come over and talk to us about our experience. We will never go back here on another trip to Bass Lake. Go to the Forks instead, they were phenomenal.

Last day and we tried the restaurant… beautiful views but really really bad service… the supervisor was on it can’t remember his name but our waitress was not at all… we had a big table but had to ask for silverware, water etc way too many times and it wasn’t even busy… either needs new staff and maybe a new chef? Nice view of lake and nice ambiance but we didn’t get one of our breakfasts until everyone was done and it was just a Benedict… very disappointing to end the trip here next time we will just skip Duceys definitely over rated!

Ok so the food is very good … The ambience is great — what’s not to like with that view … The bus boys are hopping /cleaning tables. What’s missing? It took an hour to get the root beer I ordered — and it only came after I found the manager. Waitress was out of her league she had no idea how to provide customer service and the manager no idea on how to manage a restaurant. This restaurant is an area icon — but it will be gone with this direction. It’s just two weeks before the opening of the season — Memorial Day weekend is coming. Get your act together Ducey’s … Find a wait staff that is capable and ultimately I blame the management … Sitting around and chit chatting with your servers at the bar area while things are falling apart is not management. I know I’m not off because the table behind it lost it with the manager on their incompetence and the table to our left just left as quickly as they could get their check. And another table kitty corner to us who had brought their own wine bottle had to go acquire wine glasses and a corkscrew. Heck for that service why leave the comfort of your home. If you come here plan for good food — pricey. No service. And give yourself at least an hour to get a soda and another hour for your dinner to arrive. I’m a local … And won’t be back unless I’ve heard through the grapevine that things have changed!

We loved this place!!! Our evening was just wonderful. I brought my fiancé for a surprise birthday trip and we started it off eating here. He ordered us two cocktails to start, both of which were fabulous. Then he had the blue cheese crusted rib eye, garlic mashed potatoes, and the mushroom medley. I had the filet mignon, seasonal veggies, and mac&cheese. One of our best meals together ever. It was all so tasty. We finished with the cheesecake but next time I would try there chocolate cake. Our server Amanda was friendly, super helpful and answered all our questions. Definitely coming here anytime we are in the area. Sooooo good!!!

My grandmother and myself got a bad first impression as we were not even greeted or acknowledge for the first 5 minutes. Eventually my grandmother flagged down one of the busser/seaters and she took our order and said the server would be right with us. They might of been understaffed for that moment because after that it was wonderful! The server and the busser/seater came back to us multiple times with a sincere pep and friendliness. The food was great. I’d recommend the pulled pork sandwitch and garlic fries.

Excellent food and service. The prime rib is as good as Lawry’s. Not exaggerating. You will not be disappointed. Can’t wait to go back!

Prime rib was probably one of the best meals I have had, but you have to come to the restaurant Friday or Saturday to order this. Horseradish sauce was the perfect balance and the bacon Mac n cheese is a must. I wasn’t overly fond of the mixed shrooms but I blame myself for ordering that instead of the mushroom pilaf. Check it out, I doubt you’ll regret it!

We live in Sanger, CA and frequent Bass Lake while we stay at my parents time share. I’ve seen this restaurant for years in the Fresno Magazine and Wedding magazines and have always wanted to stop in for a bite. Granted the pictures that are featured in the magazines and online are way prettier than the scenery these days — at no fault to the restaurant but to this awful drought we’ve been experiencing. Now to the main reason for the review. We decided to eat upstairs at the bar and grill instead of downstairs at the steakhouse just because we had 2 children with us and figured the menu would be more suitable at the grill. Normally, I don’t expect 5 star food from a «bar and grill» but this is at a resort so my expectations were higher than normal. We ordered a mixture of things since there were 6 of us and after discussing the food it was apparent that we all had the same experience. 4 of us ordered burgers(Hawaiian, Texas, California and the BOMB burgers) the size of the patties were good but they were extremely overcooked and lacked flavor-even with all of the toppings. The buns were soggy and just overall not very good. I even took some of my daughters side of BBQ sauce to dip my patty in-after I decided to take my burger apart and just eat the meat to intake some protein. My mom who always orders her meat well done(more like beef jerky in our eyes) even said the burger was overcooked! Which is unbelievable. The fries were ok even though they were cold and the dipping ranch was like water-pretty gross. I hate to say it but even the shock top tasted weird and extremely watered down. It was an unfortunate dining experience and did not even come close to meeting our expectations. Bummed, but now we know.

Stayed here at the Pines Resort just after Christmas and had dinner & a breakfast here. Dinner specials were pretty good & reasonably priced. However, the dinner specials are only available from 4−6pm. The breakfast was also good for all four of us. The views of the lake & mountains were really nice. It snowed during dinner, which made it all more scenic. I’d go back again, however for breakfast I’m driving into Oakhurst to see what they got there for breakfast was a bit over priced.

This is a luke warm review primarily for the luke warm food we received at Ducey’s Bar and Grille yesterday. The only item that was hot was the chicken that was chopped into unappetizing looking chunks atop my southwestern taco salad. As soon as my salad was served I knew I wouldn’t be able to eat it. To make matters worse, the skin was still on the chicken and when I forked a piece three other chunks strung along. I’m hoping the chicken had been marinated because it looked old and brown. Trying to eat that one piece with the slimey skin on it almost made me gag. The medium rare burger was cooked medium but the fries, while cold, were pretty good. My friend had the Mediterranean pizza which was delicious but cold. The location was fabulous with views of snow covered docks some in the lake some not. Calvin our server was congenial and attentive. At the end of the meal he inquired as to our experience so I told him about the chicken. We kept the cold food info to ourselves. I’m not sure I’ll ever eat at the bar and grille again. Maybe the regular chef was on holiday … maybe not.

Great food and service the food there is amazing. My hubby had philly cheese steak and I had the Ruben both came out stacked with meat cooked to perfection. Hats off to the chef and manager great service. We suggest you eat there if your visiting Yosemite. We were just at the tenaaya lodge at jack holes bar and grill. Food was horrible brought it home in boxes. We were still hungry due to the fact that that food at the tenaya was not edible and gave us heart burn. We drove to Ducts and again amazing food can’t wait to go back.

Went in for lunch(upstairs location). We were greeted by a man in a nice suit who sat us to our table. I walked in wearing casual clothes with Chuck Taylor shoes. My fiancé wearing jeans and a camo jacket. We were treated with respect the entire time. Our server, Ryan, was great! He was so polite and checked on us various times throughout our meal. We sat right by the window with a view of Bass Lake. The exterior and interior is amazing; with a stone fireplace and a woodsy feel. We plan on visiting again soon. :)

Went to the 4th of July BBQ and show on the Gazebo Deck at the Pines Resort. Ducey’s chef prepared a delicious buffet of prime rib, salmon, ribs, chicken and all the sides. Entertainment by the Marie Wilson band which was excellent. They played a wide range of styles. Something for everyone. The lake was way down but this low water level created a pretty cool beach full of people. Hopefully next year that beach has boats floating in it. No fire works but a laser light show instead. Unfortunately the laser light show had problems. Next year they need to hire Pink Floyd’s lighting people. With or without lasers, still had a nice evening.

Service was not good. They messed up 90% of the order: margrita on the rocks came out blended, bleu cheese on side came out ranch, mojito came out like a lime juice. To top it off I had to go to my car for something and the doors were locked when I came back. I knocked and got someone’s attention but they looked away. I only got back in because a chef was done with her shift… Too expensive for semi-okay food and services.

Stopped here for dinner on a Thursday night. We had a nice lakeview table. My husband grew up camping on Bass Lake so he was utterly devastated to see the water level so low. I still enjoyed the view of the sunset on the lake. Service was good, not great, but good. I don’t eat seafood so the menu was rather limited for me but still had plenty to choose from. The hubby and I both had the Chicken Marsala. I have to admit it was probably the worst Marsala reduction I have ever tasted, however the oven baked bacon Macaroni and cheese was out of this world. My husband was disappointed with the entire experience, he felt the service and food had really declined since previous years. It was 8 pm and I was hungry so I didn’t find much to complain about!

Awful and over priced food. Mostly bad service. One morning, we stood and waited to be seated for about 10 minutes and finally I walked around to find the server/hostess sitting in a booth playing on her phone. No apologies from her. One night at dinner, I noticed the staff sits in one corner of the restaurant but in view of guests. It was a little off-putting hearing them talk«shop» and discuss scheduling, staffing and seeing the managers just sit there the whole time being uninvolved. As for the food — like I said, overpriced and cheap food. I wouldn’t mind paying a bit more for food if it tasted good and was better quality. We dined a few times and it was awful each visit so we made our way into Oakhurst the rest of the time. I suggest you do the same.
