This place is S-L-O-W. There was one table that was finished eating and another large table seated when I arrived. It took 15 minutes to get acknowledged. An hour later we finally started eating. Check out was just as slow. The food was mediocre. The menu consists of a few breakfast choices, salads, and some sandwiches. Service was not memorable. The restroom was clean. Parking is ample.

The boyfriend and I came here during a nice weekend getaway at my aunt’s timeshare. It was pretty empty when we came, but we also came in that awkward fall season when there isn’t any snow and it’s not hot. I can imagine it’s pretty hopping during the ski season. Our waitress was really nice and we had a good chat with her. Food was pretty decent too. Boyfriend had the Twisted Grilled Cheese with fries. I had a bite of it and it was pretty good. I had the chicken tenders basket with Mac and cheese. The chicken tenders were your average tenders, but the Mac and cheese was really good. Nice and creamy, comparable to say Panera’s Mac and cheese. Overall I was pleased with this place. It’s not phenomenal, but it works well.

Came here 3 times while visiting in the area(dinner twice, lunch once). We loved the food here, and service was great too. 3 different days, 3 different waitresses, all attentive. Maybe we hit it at a good week, but we really liked it. Best fried chicken! Meat loaf special perfect. All the main and side dishes were very fresh too. Can’t beat the prices either. Wi-fi was helpful too as where we were staying there wasn’t any.

Whàt a terrible experience here tonight! I have been to this place for several years and each year it has a different name and I presume new management. Prior visits have been very pleasant however tonight the place just sucked. Not at all busy! My son ordered a side salad which came out promptly but still no food after 45 minutes! We didn’t even order anything complicated. Waitress said your order will be out soon. 20 minutes later, I lost it and we all walked out. The hostess yelled at me as I was getting in the car«Sir, your food will be out soon» Really? Don’t bother with this dump!

Came a couple of years ago and was a little disappointed that we had to order a few different things off the menu before we found something they had available. The food we ended up with was good but it was just disappointing not to be able to get what we wanted. We also got word from my friends daughter, a pizza fanatic, that the pizza wasn’t very good. I came back over the weekend, because frankly there is not much to choose from in that area. We came for breakfast and we both got the breakfast burrito with grits. OMG, what a great choice. The burrito was good but the GRITS were something to talk about. Made with heavy cream they are the creamiest, tastiest grits I have ever eaten. I will go back just for the grits every single time!

We had lunch there today and the food and service was very good. Went back for dinner tonight and had a pizza which was just ok. It was too ‘doughy’. We’ll go back, but won’t order their pizza.

Incredible service! Incredible omelet! The best grits I’ve ever had! My coffee mug stayed full with a smile from our host/server! Not a lot of choices in town but this IS the best place for breakfast not just here almost everywhere. A limited menu but that is ok… what else do you need for breakfast besides a great omelet, coffee and grits!

The best thing about this place is the location — close to the resort. Everything else could use some serious improvement. The kitchen/servers are either: way under-staffed to handle meal rushes, run on molasses, or are just bordering on incompetent. The food is not bargain priced, especially compared against other well-established chains(Shoney’s, Denny’s, IHOP). The menu choices are quite limited, and definitely not geared towards health-conscious eaters. On a previous visit, we had a party of 7, and it took over an hour to get our food. I will only go there now as an absolute last resort.

I only ate breakfast here. Dined here for 5 days in a row and each breakfast was hot and delicious. My favorite was the 3 egg omelette. Their grits are probably one of the best I’ve had. The décor is not much and I was worried when I first stepped inside but the quality of the food made up for the looks. Stop here if you can.

Last week, my family and I went on our family ski trip. It also happened to be on the Super Bowl weekend, so we were looking for pizza place. We were a few miles down the road, further than we’d want for pizza, but being a mountain region it was totally understandable. We got two pizzas, and some fries. The Super Bowl happened, the Ravens won, we Marylanders ran around like sugar rushed 5 year olds, and then proceeded to continue the feast. The pizza was great, the fries were yummy, and it was a perfect compliment with some beers. At the end of the week, my GF and I went back, this time for breakfast. We got some eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, and coffee. It was all delicious, and a very hearty and well cooked meal. Compliments to the chef!!! We had a great waitress, she was very nice and on top of what we wanted. The place wasn’t busy, with only two other patrons, but once again, mountain towns don’t have half million person populations. So, if you want some good food at a great price and are in the resort regions of this area, check out Hot Plates. We will def be back the next time we’re skiing! Thanks, Hot Plates! PS– The décor of old Rockers and Musicians photos was a really good set up, and was fun to look at.

We had breakfast here one Sunday morning. I’d heard good things about the Hot Plates Café — and I love greasy spoon diner/breakfast joints, so I was eager to check it out. The breakfast menu is extremely limited — but I was pleased to see Sausage Gravy & Biscuits. I ordered that and a side of home fries, plus water. When the food came out, it was a substantial quantity — two biscuits split in half, covered in Sausage Gravy and a side plate of home fries. I asked for hot sauce and they brought out a bottle of Texas Pete. I tasted the Sausage Gravy before adding the hot sauce and black pepper. Wayyyyyy to salty! They had a heavy hand on the salt shaker when they made this. It ruined the enjoyment of the food — the potatoes were also to salty. It’s to bad, because the gravy had good sausage flavor. If we come here again, I guess I should stick to the pancakes and eggs — hopefully they won’t over salt those. Service was good, the prices were good, and the folks were friendly. This is the only breakfast diner joint I’ve ever experienced with lava and glitter lamps in it.

This place was right down the road from our little ski condo, thank goodness! We popped in for breakfast on Sat. morning. Our server was very friendly and we had our food in no time. I ordered a mushroom and cheese omelet, chose the grits over the home fries, and wheat toast. Everything was really good, especially those grits! I could have eaten 10 more bowls of those grits. My husband got the breakfast burrito(sans sausage), and got the grits, too. We got our son the Mickey Mouse pancake, and he really liked it. We had planned to go somewhere else for dinner that night, but we had some car issues and didn’t want to go too far away from the condo, so we ate here again. And sat at the same table. We decided to try their pizza. I am a pizza snob, I admit it, but their pizza was decent. I prefer a much thinner crust, but the sauce and the toppings were really good. You can get either a small«personal» pizza or the large. We got the large and it fed 3 of us. Again, service was quick and efficient. We ate here AGAIN the next morning before heading out for some tubing. I tried their pancakes this time and got a side of grits. Pancakes were good(not the best I’ve ever had, but pretty good). Husband ordered the same breakfast burrito, and my son wanted a side of home fries and toast & jelly. All good. Thank goodness for this place. Pickings are pretty slim in this area for food(especially vegetarian options), so I am glad this place was here.

Went for lunch. Small and friendly place. Food was very affordable. Server was nice. One of the few restaurants in the area.
