Love this new location. The food is always great and the staff is friendly & attentive. The frozen strawberry vodka cocktail is delish!

This place never disappoints me! Everything I’ve had here is absolutely delicious. My friends and I go on Sunday’s for brunch and their Pecan Praline Coffee is DEVINE! Hair of the dog has never tasted so good! They also have frozen mimosas(God knows it’s hot as hell in Louisiana) that will set you straight from whatever shenanigans you found yourself waking up from. All in all I can’t say a single negative thing about BB. Do yourself a favor and just go.

I’ve never had a terrible meal here, but I’ve also never had a great one. It’s always just okay. They do have a good king cake bread pudding though.

I was really excited to try this place when I looked at the menu. The menu has an extensive selection of Cajun and comfort fare, sandwiches, and salads. I really wish the food had lived up to my expectations. We started with the hummus. The hummus came with carrots, cucumbers, and fried tortillas. I got a cup of the chicken and sausage gumbo. It was really good. Dark and rich. I ordered the debris poboy and mashed potatoes. I was really disappointed. The sandwich was dry. Very little gravy. No lettuce or any other toppings. The potatoes tasted like they had been sitting out for a while. No surprise since the service was really slow. The carrot soufflé was the best I’ve ever had. We also got the Poisson Acadian. Fried catfish on crawfish étouffée. It was decent. Nothing really special. We finished the meal off the key lime pie. It was very limey, and not very sweet. The service was VERY slow. Our server didn’t seem to have it all together. I’m not sure if she was new, but it wasn’t up to par with a restaurant of this caliber. All in all, if I lived closer I would possibly give this place another shot. But I doubt I’ll be back given the great options in BR. It’s a shame too because I felt like it had so much promise. I felt the price points were just a couples dollars too high for the quality of food we got.

Came here with my sister, bro in law, and nephew at 2 pm on a beautiful day. The environment was modern and classy at the same time. Our waiter, Lance I think was awesome and attentive! I ordered the mimosa, three cheese chips, beaucoup burger, and heavenly chocolate supreme. Mimosa: 3⁄5 it was yummy but i guess im just weak to alcohol ha. Three cheese: 5⁄5 because the chips was homemade with an extra crunch to it! Beaucoup burger: 3⁄5 because the burger was juicy but the bread needed more flavor; maybe add extra virgin olive oil on the bread? Heavenly chocolate dessert: 6⁄5! It wasn’t too sweet but it was so goood!!! Will be back!

Tried this place out for the first time not realizing it was in a reasonable distance from my work. I’m glad my co worker and I landed here because eating around Siegen Lane is just so blah these days. When we arrived around 2:15PM the place was pretty busy. We were asked if we wanted to sit inside or outside and we chose outdoors because it felt nice. My only gripe is when the hostess sat us there were tons of available tables outside but we were sat literally half a foot next to a couple which I would have rathered a table further down. The place is located in a new construction area which is really nice, I can’t wait till it is all done because some parts are still under construction. The décor and set up is nice and has a sleek modern feel. Our server was very attentive(Taylor) and made good recommendations based off our questions and mood. I had the«Byronz Lite» sandwich and it was the perfect amount to hit the spot without feeling too full on a hot day. I’m looking forward to bringing my family over for brunch in the morning to get a better taste of what Bistro Byronz has to offer!

I really enjoy their southern classic recipes. They have great home cooking/specials and sandwiches. The dining environment is very nice and somewhat fancy but their prices are much more inline with a plate lunch special restaurant. So, go there for really good comfort food in a fancy atmosphere with really good prices. How can you complain about that combination? Oh, they also have great cocktails!

After driving in disgusting Baton Rouge traffic, let’s just say I was SUPER excited to make my way to our table. The hostess was extremely welcoming and accommodating. I did not want a tall table and he was able to find me a regular one! The waitress was very bubbly and took our order without any problems. I ordered the steak and frite salad. It was fantastic! Balsamic dressing was exceptionally testy! Dessert was amazing! Like lick the bowl, spoon and anything that dripped on the table. Heavenly chocolate supreme is the BEST dessert I have ever tried! I had a delightful time with my friend and will totally be going back!!! Side note– this place is ALWAYS freezing. Bring a sweater!

Great place to make a deal! If you want to make a business deal at lunch, it’s the perfect place! It’s peaceful, they have great lunch options, not too pricey, & in an somewhat upscale type setting. I didn’t find it to be the best for dinner, even though they have some great options, but I like to stay a while with guest when I’m at dinner, & the French chairs are not comfortable for after lingering a while after dinner.

I am so glad they opened up this second location closer to my area! The Perkins Road location has all the charm of the Government Street location, but also the added convenience of being close to the mall and Perkins Rowe. My go to dish is the Seasame-Crusted Tuna Salad. Their ginger dressing is seriously drool worthy. I could do without the fried wonton skins on top but those are easily removed. I’ve also enjoyed their Steak Frite and Shrimp Poboy… Add their bleu cheese chips if it’s your cheat day. My husband swears this is the best poboy in town. Here are my thoughts on some of their other dishes : — their Back of the Stove Chicken is a bit dry and probably my least favorite dish(of the ones I’ve tried). It’s still a good and hearty meal nonetheless. — the Pot Roast Creole portion size is a bit small and salty. Green beans are good. — the Heavenly Chocolate Supreme is exactly beyond heavenly. Definitely in my top three desserts in Baton Rouge. — Vodka freezes are a delightful adult treat in the hot Louisiana heat — overall: their portions are pretty small but generally tasty

We ventured here tonight for another visit and some dinner. Sad to say by the time we finally coerced the guy behind the bar to find our check and credit card and get it back to us the mood was pretty much dampened and we will take a break from here for the foreseeable future. This after the dinner service was also extremely slow and when we pointed out that a couple who came in at least 10 – 15 minutes after us were eating a full 10 – 15 minutes before us that was met with a mumbling excuse. The steak frites salad could be better if the fries on top were hot and fresh. The shrimp pasta my wife ordered was akin to a Healthy Choice steamer with obviously frozen pink and rubbery shrimp. $ 7.50 for a Canebrake is absurd. Lastly as I close out this chapter is that the place has an ID crisis to me. Not formal, not intimate, not romantic, not a sports bar. It does not represent clearly in any area and it seems the crowds have died down here quite a bit. We live very near but never really put it on our visit list. There is a reason. Sorry BB.

I went yesterday around lunchtime with my in-laws and husband. We’d been once before for brunch so we knew what to expect. Cute, bistro tables, close together, great lighting, not too loud, casual but trendy. We got mimosas(day drinking yay!) and just entrees. Our server was on point and friendly, food was great, not super expensive… Love that this new location is so close to our house, I foresee many more trips, especially in the spring when the weather starts warming up enough to brunch and patio sit!

I really like this new location of Bistro. Near Perkins Rowe, a little larger than their Government Street location but no echoing! Love the outdoor seating and the bar area, and the waitstaff is VERY attentive. As at the other location, their happy hour is one of the best hidden gems in Baton Rouge but make sure you’re there between 4−6pm to check it out. It’s nice to have a slightly upscale place nearby to have a cocktail and blue cheese chips after a long day at the office.

I have always loved the Bistro Byronz on Government. My hands down favourite meal in life is pot roast– theirs is exceptional. The décor is traditional new Orleans restaurant, down to the black and white tile and black framed doorways. The service there is usually really slow for lunch… only slightly better for dinner, but they’ve always made a mean cocktail. So last night we did girls’ dinner at the new one on perkins– how can one expect different you may ask… 1. the space is bigger and more open 2. the service was definitely top notch 3. the bar has a weird column that splits it Got a drink from the bar as I waited for friends– the summer menu is something special. The pimms cup and the Moscow mule have def made appearances all over town– but they have something called a vodka freeze that is light and refreshing. There was a bit of a wait for our table(which worked bc I was first) my friends arrived right in time for us to be seated. Our waiter was attentive and made sure we got drinks, apps and food in a nice rotation. Second– and this was big for me… did not balk at the change from boiled shrimp(I am not a fan) to blacked shrimp for the seafood salad. A friend got the fried mac and cheese croquettes and I am glad she did– wanted to try– could not eat it all alone, the burger looked good and so did the seared tuna. I already loved bistro bryonz for the food– the new location hits all of the warm and squish into jedi level. Is what you love and a little more.

We shared the blue cheese chips as our appetizer, it was good if you like copious amounts of blue cheese because it is a very strong and rich flavor. For my entrée I got the steak and fries, they were… okay. The fries were nothing exciting, and I do prefer thicker fries over these shoe string ones. My steak was well beyond medium and tasted okay as did my vegetables. All in all, it was edible but I probably would not order this again. My friend got the beaucoup burger and seemed to enjoy it, but like me she preferred her fries thicker cut. The best part of the day was definitely the chocolate dessert. Warm and decadent with a nice chocolatey flavor. The cake had nuts in that gave a nice crunch and the ice cream made for a wonderful pairing. The location itself is nice and clean. The service was good and parking was not a problem.

Girl Scout Troop Leaders go wild at Bistro Byronz… seriously though, the Vodka Freeze did me in! We were very excited to check out the new location, and it definitely proved worthy. It looked vastly different from their Government Street location, but both are beautiful and very unique. The service was perfect, the food was fab, and the drinks were yummy. We chose to go all out with drinks, an appetizer, entrées with salads, and dessert. The Vodka Freeze with strawberry was awesome and very much like an adult Icee. Not sure if it’s unique to Bistro Byronz as I’d never heard of it but was definitely impressed with how you truly didn’t taste the vodka, yet the effect was strong. For our app, we shared the Blue Cheese Chips, which were perfect. Melted blue cheese stayed warm with not an overpowering flavor of Blue Cheese, and the chips were homemade but weren’t salty like some made in house and stayed very crispy. Pretty close in comparison to Zapps actually. Next, entrées. We chose two Pot Roast Creoles and the Back of the Stove Chicken. I didn’t get to try the chicken, but I do know that the pot roast was wonderful. Very tender, juicy, and well flavored meat plus perfect mashed potatoes with gravy and green beans. Also, the price was right for the quantity and the portion size was plentiful. It also came with a salad. I chose the Bistro Salad which was a light spinach salad loaded with pecans and craisins; I tend to love sweet salads so loved it and ate every bite. For dessert, we shared the Heavenly Hash which had ice cream, melted marshmallows, and crunchy, chocolatey, candy like bars. Honestly, not my favorite dessert. We wanted something really chocolatey, but unfortunately the three dessert choices they had weren’t that rich with chocolate. Apparently I’m also not a huge fan of marshmallows mixed in to my ice cream because that was my least favorite part. Next time, I’ll try the Banana’s Foster Bread Pudding.

Go for happy hour, you will return again and again!!! Delicious food with an awesome atmosphere. A unique Baton Rouge treasure. Try the Blue cheese chips! I can’t go there without getting these! The seasonal bread pudding rotation is a must try! As is their hash. They have a great bar that mixes a mean martini!

I really liked the atmosphere and the little cute restaurant. I’m not sure exactly when this location opened, but I still haven’t tried the old one. The same owner still owns this one. My group had mimosas, I had a Bloody Mary, and a lawnmower specialty beer. I loved my Bloody Mary although if you don’t like really spicy I wouldn’t recommend it. We had a large group and it was crowded so we expected a wait and they quoted us 30 – 40 minutes well after 45 minutes rolled around we bought a round of drinks. After an hour I went to ask how much longer and they said they were waiting on another large party that had been there for 2 hours. Well the manager felt bad since they had quoted us half the time it was taking so they bought us a round of drinks. Which made up for it imo. So we sat down in a nice round table staff greeted us right away. Noticed we already had drinks so she brought us a pitcher of water along with our filled water glasses. I personally love when restaurants have a side pitcher so you don’t have to wait for waiters to keep refilling your water glass. We ordered the blue cheese chips appetizer that was yummy. That came out fast, however, the food was another on the long side wait. I think it was because we had a large group and probably because it’s new. Staff are getting used to things yadi yada. The food finally came and everything looked great and mine was still hot and fresh. I loved it, and we were right by a tv that was playing the playoff game Seahawks and packers. I enjoyed it, and will update it once I go to the original location one. Hoping the next time I go with a smaller group the wait will be better. Definitely go and try it out!
