Loved this McAlister’s, hence the five stars. Sadly, when we came by today, it was locked up with a sign saying this location is closed. Guess we’ll go to the one on Siegen from now on.

Closed! Phones send you to the Siegen location. I visited here just 2 days ago. No lights on. No visible signage.

I like this McAlister’s. I have been here a couple of times. I had high expectations of McAlister’s as when I was a student this chain(not this location) had catered a couple of meetings and special events that I had gone to. The food was the exact same. A good, decent meal. This location has been neat and clean both visits, and has had decent service. The food was hot, and well put together. This recent visit, I had the New York hot sandwich, and it was quite good. I look forward to coming back when I am in the area.

The salads were really good, it’s Saturday about noon-thirty and even though the food was pretty good, I don’t think we’ll be coming back anymore. It’s slow and the people that work here are just standing around, they’re not very friendly or outgoing at all! As we were walking out we counted twelve empty tables that wee dirty and uncleared. There were only six other people that came in the whole time we were here. The bathrooms were both dirty with full garbage cans and paper towels all over the floor! If they don’t keep the bathrooms and dining area clean I can only imagine what the kitchen area must look like!

Where to start… This place is close to work, so I’m here usually once every two weeks. I’ve tried several of their hot sandwiches which has always been pleasurable to eat, but nothing that rocked my world. The service has always been great in my opinion. If you get here around noon, there is usually a line, but the wait isn’t bad compared to other places. If you’re looking for a standard lunch stop, usually soup and sandwich for this guy, try this place out. Again, nothing too exciting here, but for under $ 10 you can get a meal that fills belly and doesn’t break the bank.

Not sure why the other reviews are negative but I like this place. I’ve had the club, the new yorker, and the orange chicken club. I thought all three were great. I also really like the mac and cheese. I’ve had no issues with the service, either. Its a really good value with all their sandwiches at $ 7 or $ 8. Don’t worry about the negative reviews and give this place a shot!

The service was horrible. They messed up four people’s orders. One person did not even get there soup. They do not know the difference from sweet to unsweetened tea.

I am a fan of Mcalister’s Deli. They are great in Mississippi and I’ve had hit or miss here in Baton Rouge at both locations. But today’s visit was just awful… my entire 3-person party who ate here. The baked potatoes tasted like they had been reheated in the microwave, the cheese was a weird texture… firm and wasn’t getting gooey in the potato when mixed in like cheese does, and the chicken tasted boiled and like it was prepared the day before. My wife had the chicken on her sandwich and she said the same thing. My turkey sandwich would have been decent if it wasn’t overpowered by the mustard that tasted like vinegar. We haven’t been in a while due to previous food consistency issues so not sure if this is the normal experience or we caught them on a horrible day. They seemed to have plenty of staff, but most were not in the kitchen and I really only saw 1 person in the kitchen preparing the food.

Okay, so this rating is purely based on the service. Horrible, sloppy, unorganized, lazy,… shall I go on??! Of course the food is great, but it took me 45 min to receive 2 sandwiches TOGO!!! I only have 1 hour on my lunch break and McAlister’s took up 75% of it!!! There was one girl taking orders at the register during lunch rush(11:30−1ish) and one girl slowly delivering plates to the patrons sitting at the tables. Then there seemed to be some kind of asst manager/cashier just trying to do everything at once. She was very polite and apologized probably 50 times while i was in the restaurant to other guests. So total… 3 people … serving… at the busiest hour of the day… Really McAlisters??? Really?! The owner/manager finally showed up and immediately became swamped with sending out orders, calling names to find the people, taking phone calls, yelling to the kitchen. I mean the kitchen is where the problem originates from. There were maybe 4 people in the kitchen and all of them looked confused and disoriented. There was no direction. But what baffles me is that when the owner/manager came in, there was STILL no flow to the business. The Corporate office will need to look in to this franchisee… I only gave it 2 stars because my order was correct(surprisingly) and the food tasted great. Most likely I will return, only because its close to my work and the food compensates for the more than horrible customer service. Word of advice to the Corporate… get a better leader in your business!
