Pros: Patrick, our server, was the perfect guide for our first Blend visit — knowledgeable, warm, and attentive. He seemed to float by the table just as we were ready with a question or a request. As a couple, we shared three plates(charcuterie board, brussels sprouts and seared beef) and a wine flight and found it all to be comparable in quality and price with one of our other favorites, City Pork Bar and Brasserie. Very different vibe, of course, given Blend is a wine bar, but I would peg them as peers in the BR market. Cons: Valentine’s weekend and we didn’t make a reservation so we ended up in the lounge upstairs on a couch. Rookie mistake on our part, but given the menu is comprised of smaller dishes, it had a kind of 2-person cocktail party vibe with a few glasses of wine and lots of delicious foods to pick at while we chatted.

Blend is a great wine bar! The flights are amazing and a great way to try different wines. The menu for restaurant weeks was great. The food is light but filling. The servers are knowledgable. Management is great and they work to build a great relationship with customers. Everyone was very knowledgable about the wine and menu and offered great recommendations and pairings.

I don’t even usually like an old-fashioned, but Caleb knows how to make a fantastic old-fashioned! You won’t be disappointed! Visit the bar and ask for Caleb!

So I took a date here after we had apps at the Oyster Bar downtown. The atmosphere was perfect and I loved the upstairs balcony with the chill spots. Nothing but good looking people in here and not an overwhelming crowd. Bartender was very knowledgeable, quick and great with the drinks. My date and I split the Blend burger and, let me tell you, it was out of sight! Not a real restaurant kind of place but go here and have a cheese & meat plate and/or a high quality Blend burger and a lot of good drinks!!!

Love this place! I was in town on business and dined alone. Found it thanks to Unilocal.Devin was a great server. The crawfish andouille risotto was yummy, but the crispy brussel sprouts were amazing. Devin’s eyes lit up when I ordered them. I can’t wait to see what she brings me for desert. I told her: «Bring me what is unique to Blend.» Enjoy!

When it comes to the classification of a wine bar many establishments attempt to portray a varied selection of wines, champagnes, and other spirits with the hopes that the sheer selection will overwhelm the consumer into submission and acceptance. Blend is not this place. It has a very intentional selection of wines that are crafted around a specific mission, please the palette and capture he imagination. I’m not a connoisseur of fine things but I recognize good quality and great service when I see it. Blend stands above them all in terms of its selection and its quality service. Great wine, a keen and intentional selection, and great atmosphere makes this place unique and one of a kind in the Baton Rouge area.

Just give me all the wine all the time… At Blend, it’s enjoyed in a modern, expansive space, complete with an upper loft-like area containing lounge seating. Yes, please. I’m all about that. I’m all about Blend. Nice touch: for a more«private» area, our host suggested we sit behind the stairs leading up to the loft. I really dig this expertly-designed and decorated space. We stopped in about 40 minutes before closing on Wednesday night and although they were empty, they didn’t act put out by us prolonging their stay, nor did they greet us with the unwelcoming, «We close at 10…»(this has happened to me recently and it REALLY makes you want to stay and drop a hundred bucks on wine and food, doesn’t it?). Our server didn’t rush us at all and was helpful with suggestions on the menu. He didn’t even blink when we asked him to leave the foie gras off the fries. On that note, not a ton for vegans here, but they will modify(for example, they will leave the lebnah off the hummus plate, etc). The Brussels sprouts *are* vegan and scrumptious! Those foie gras-less fries are also something else(ketchup is homemade and blended with cranberries). I stuck to bubbly and it came out perfectly chilled. I don’t know, it seems rare that bubbly ever arrives cold enough and there’s nothing that takes the celebration out of Champagne like it being served less than icy cold. I’m glad I have another place to hit up Downtown, because you can only go to Tsunami so often…

This is the one wine bar downtown so if you’re looking for a wine bar, go here haha. I remember it as The Wine Loft but I like this place better. Beautiful space with lots of seating at the bar, tables, or couches. Good selection of wine and they have beers too. I’ve gotten a few appetizers and they were good too. Servers are knowledgeable about wine and will let you sample something if you’re not sure you’ll like it. Oh and ask for Neva behind the bar. She’s awesome :)

While in town for work, I came to Blend with 3 of my co-workers to have a meeting over dinner. The waiter was quick to get us wine, which was important. Their by the glass selection of wine wasn’t bad. Then we picked a whole bunch of things to share. My favorites were the shrimp and grits, 3 cheese plate and brussel sprouts. The scallops smelled a little too fishy for me… the corn that came on the side of the dish was tasty, but the fish smelled too seafood-y. We also ordered the burger and had them cut it into quarters, which I think just took away from the beauty of the burger. The atmosphere was pretty good… there was only 2 other parties in there on a Tuesday night. I thought the food took a little long to come out, but once one dish came out, they allll came out. But all in all, it was pretty tasty, just a little rich for a weeknight meal.

So glad we picked this place for girls night last weekend! Our waiter did an excellent job at helping us pick out wines by our liking! I’m so glad I followed his advice because, they were wonderful! The dim lighting and couches give this place an awesome atmosphere. We went super late after the LSU game so next time, we’ll show up earlier to enjoy it more. Ladies, it’s freezing!!! I was so impressed that place was even in Baton Rouge! I can’t wait to go on another girls night and even try their food for a date night!

«Seasonal Menus: the ever-changing array of choices». You can choose from a Charcuterie board, appetizers and small plates. Bring your friends to chill or the perfect spot for a date night… very romantic & cozy atmosphere! My husband and I went there on a date night! The sweet potato fries were a tad bit dry and salty; however, it did not ruin the rest of the meal! On the same board as the sweet potato fries was the«Blend Burger»… such a scrumptious combination. The one thing that stood out on that burger were the pickles… wowza! Mama mia, that burger was plump, juicy and oozed with cheese. With burgers, the biggest turn-off for me would be cold buns, but this did not disappoint… warm, toasty buns! All-in-all… the burger was absolute perfection! My husband also shared a dish of BBQ shrimp and grits. I am not always a huge fan of grits, but when they are cooked correctly and paired with something as awesome as those BBQ shrimp, the tastes together was quite phenomenal. Everything was share-able, if that is what you are looking to do — order small plates and share between 2 people… it works, plus you will get to try different dishes! To top of the night’s exemplary dishes, the Peach Crème Brûlée made for a nice finish. I have had plenty of Crème Brûlées in my day, but this was not one of my favorites. The peaches needed to jump out at me, but simply did not; however, what did jump out at me was caramelized sugar crust… that was very thick… thicker than what I am used to. Typically, most Crème Brûlées I am used to have a delicately thin layer of the caramelized sugar on top. When you add any kind of fruit to this very sweet dessert, it needs to pop out. Unfortunately, this one did not, but the rest of the meal was a 2-thumbs up for me!

My husband and I stayed in downtown Baton Rouge as a quick little getaway for the night. We wanted to eat and have drinks at a nice place within walking distance from our hotel. Blend was the perfect choice! It is very nice and relaxing. I loved the atmosphere. Our waitress helped us out with picking out wine and cheeses and small plates. We loved it! I wish there was a Blend closer to where we live. If we are ever in Baton Rouge again, we will definitely come again. Perfect place for a girls night, too.

I want to love this place in a 5-star way but just can’t based on my Friday night experience. Certain things here are great… top notch. The service and ambiance being two of them. However, I was there for dinner so I have to tell you about the whole experience. I LOVE the wine flight for $ 12! This is great since I enjoy trying as many things as possible. I had the reds and one of my friends had the white/sparkling. My boyfriend was drinking crown old fashioned and he said they were some of the best. Onto the food… first we started with a meat and cheese combination. The cheese selection was pretty pedestrian and felt like things I bought for parties in my 20s. The charcuterie selection on the other hand was extremely impressive. We chose the duck ham and this wonderfully salted morsel was reason alone for me to head back to Blend. We tried to order the beef and cherry sausage, but they were out: o(So our waiter suggested the chicken sausage… it wasn’t as bad as most chicken sausage I’ve had but it didn’t really say sausage to me either. It was almost like a really good chicken salad formed into a sausage shape. Let’s talk about main dishes, which are all small plates(my favorite way to dine). The three of us ordered the fried green tomatoes, short rib, and cheeseburger. Our waiter was raving about the burger which set expectations very high. If you say this is the best burger you’ve ever had, the burger shouldn’t simply be on great bread. I’m certainly not saying the burger was bad but I’ve had better at places in Baton Rouge. The short rib was simply okay. The texture left something to be desired as the meat was tender, the gravy was your typical brown gravy, and the grits were very creamy. Maybe they can add something to give it a crunch or some toast points… just a thought. MYFAVORITE… the fried green tomatoes topped with lump crabmeat!!! This dish was perfect. The hot, crisp tomatoes with cool, silky crabmeat… all drizzled with a perfect amount of sauce. YESPLEASE! I would have to say I’m will be back to Blend in the future as I really think it’s a great place to meet friends for a snack and a few really well prepared drinks. I just may not plain to make it one of my main dinner spots.

The ambiance is 5 stars, love the loft like feeling and the upstairs area is great. The rustic wooden tables are perfect and it is spacious yet cozy at the same time. Cannot say a lot about the food, because we simply noshed on some cheese and fruits with our wine. While the cheese itself was pretty good, the pairing with our wines was awful! We had 2 separate tables going because of the number of people and we felt like our table kept getting ignored for service for some reason, while the other table had perfect service! It was the same server and every time she just bypassed our table. maybe she found us smelly!!! Anyways, so she paired the absolute wrong cheese with our wine and I did not like having any of it. The cocktails were nice(when they finally made their way to our table — having sat ignored by the bartender for a while)! Since I was with a bunch of people from work, I did not mind as much since we were busy talking — and i would still like to go back, only expect better service! I am giving the place 3 stars because I loved the ambiance, and the wine(though awful with the cheese), was really really good.
