Darn, I wish I was more of the adventurous, outdoorsy type! This store goes on for days. If you are going camping, hunting or need to shoot a bow & arrow, Bowie Outfitters is your spot! I otherwise would not have come here, but today was different because Chef John Besh was there to do meet-n-greet and his book signing, so I needed to be there! The store was organized and the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. For those that love outdoor sports, they are set here; it’s a one-stop-shop for them. I saw a camo pattern tent that I absolutely loved. Honestly, I would go camping, just so I could use that tent. Camo has become a part of my world, since I moved to Louisiana. Anyway, I really should learn how to shoot a bow & arrow, you know, channel my inner Katniss(Hunger Games/Mockingjay). Anyway, if you are looking for gifts for your special someone on your holiday or gifting list, come here for those that love their outdoor sporting goods! You will definitely make them smile!

I love Bowie Outfitters. The employees are knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. There is an elder man who works in the gun department that I think is great! They have a great selection of anything hunting or fishing with a wide variety of pricing.

Bowie Outfitters is a excellent place if your trying to avoid the big box sportsman stores. They have it all, and even carry those small detailed necessities that only hunters know you need. The gun selection is a bit larger than your typical retailer but by no means Cabela’s. Though they seem to carry what people want rather than what a collector might be looking for. I was surprised to see the quality and amount of accessories they had available. Some things that even Cabela’s doesn’t carry! The safe selection was wide and the duck hunting section was near perfect. Overall Bowie Outfitters is excellent for your average outdoors shop, but it may lack the things you need where as Cabelas usually has it all. Of course let’s not forget we are comparing a local store versus a national multi billion dollar chain.
