Dropped in for lunch and — I gotta tell you — something about the name — «Crispy Catch» — works for me — probably because, when it comes to comfort foods, there are few things tastier than seafood that has been fried to that just right place of crispy-without-being-overdone-or-underdone perfection. So how did they do? Overall, I’m gonna say — they did pretty well. I’d like to give them a 3.5( Unilocal — Please! — let us do half star ratings!). I will definitely come back. Now often, when I’m in this predicament where I’m caught between two ratings, I will err on the side of being more generous in how I rate a place. However, this time around, there were a couple little things that gave me some pause — nothing huge, but it was enough to cause me to lean toward the three instead of the 4 stars. So what did I get? I ordered the #1 Combo — with Crispy Fish — and added on the special of 4 fried shrimp for $ 1 extra — not a bad deal at all. The whole thing with a drink came to $ 11.87 — great value for money with the shrimp addition. Without the added shrimp, the value for money aspect diminishes a little. That’s enough about economics. Let’s talk about the food. The«crispy fish» — while a LITTLE on the small side, in terms of portion-size — was nevertheless pretty tasty. It was well-cooked on the outside, yet inside the fish was fresh, tender and moist. The seasoned batter — while slightly understated — was good in that it provided some flavors but still allowed for the flavor of the fish to hold it’s own without having to compete with overpowering«add-on» flavors. And, for those who want to spice it up a bit — they have several sauces available, if that’s your thing. The Shrimp were also solid, good-sized, not overcooked. They were good as they were, without the«Reel Sauce» provided — but the sauce was pretty good for dipping too(very similar to Raising Canes sauce, actually). The fries were, well, fries. Not amazing, not bad — just solidly right there in the middle. They were fine, really. But one day, someone’s gonna figure out how to take fries to a whole new level. Maybe someone has — but I’ve never tasted it. The Cole Slaw — again — a small portion, but it was tasty, with some nice subtle flavors(maybe a little pepper would add something to the mix). It was a nice contrast that balanced out — at least a little — the carb bomb that made up the rest of the platter. Krystal took my order and was very friendly, helpful and informative with suggestions for people like me who are first timers. The atmosphere was simple, and had a clean, industrial look and feel. My recommendation: Definitely give this place a try!

This place is real gem! The food was fantastic and the service was great! For being not very heard of it is wonderful place! I fully recommend it. The shrimp were very good and reel sauce was great also! The Canes of seafood for sure. Great model!

Decent quality fish, but not worth the price charged for the quantity, especially given the industrial environment with no table service. If there were a drive-through I might go again, but otherwise I’ll head to one of the local established fish restaurants. I got the number 1 and added four shrimp for an extra four dollars. The shrimp were small and tasted somewhat… odd. I also added an extra couple of sauces(you get 1 «cane-sauce sized» sauce with a number 1), so I paid around $ 15 and even with only a moderate appetite I was unsatisfied with the quantity.

This is a great place that I found thanks to Unilocal!I finally got a chance to go check it out for myself and I can say it is truly going to be a place I want to go every time I am in town. We visited on a Saturday afternoon and it was not very busy at all. The building looks much smaller from the outside than it really is. I also think it is decorated really cute. Pretty cool for a shop that was once a gas station! We were greeted right as we walked up to the counter. The menu is not large and it is all seafood with the exception of the Boudin Poppers, so do not think you can get chicken or something else if you do not like seafood. Your choices are crispy catfish, fried shrimp or fish tacos or the aforementioned Boudin Poppers. We each ordered a different entrée and shared a side of the poppers so we could get a wide profile for their menu. Man are we glad we did. Everything we had was delicious! You would think at first that the plate would not be filling but I promise you that we were plenty satisfied! None of us could even finish our fries — and they are excellent fries! So I had the #1 Crispy Fish with no coleslaw and added extra Corn Bobbers(hushpuppies) in it’s place. It has ¼ lb. of catfish strips, fries, corn bobbers and a drink. I love this catfish. The batter is so crisp yet so light it is just the way I love fried seafood. Likewise the hush-puppies were not greasy and had a moist buttery inside while still a hard crispy outside. There were five pieces of the fish strips and they are fairly thin. I think I might add a couple of pieces of fish next time and eat even less fries. But the fries are so good I am not sure I could do that either! LOL! My daughter had the #1, also, but she had the shrimp instead of fish. She had 8 decent sized shrimp, fries and corn bobbers. She did not have coleslaw either and opted for more corn bobbers. She loves hush puppies and these were a huge hit with her. My niece had the fish tacos and she says while she normally does not often choose fish tacos she wants to have these again — and soon! The cilantro lime sauce she had was great! Very zesty and refreshing. Now lets talk about the Boudin Poppers. WOW! We got a side of 5 and they were some of the best boudin I have had in a while. I love boudin but I do not like the ones that are so spicy that I need milk just to get them down. These are rich and flavorful without having the heavy handed spice in them. Very moist on the inside and I could make a meal of them alone. The drinks are great. they have awesome ice. Yes, I rate ice. I love pellet ice and this is somewhere between a pellet and a pebble. To me it does not melt as fast and water down my drink. SCORE. Plus it’s über fun to crunch on(yeah yeah I know its bad for me but I cant help it ha ha ha). As as you can see this was a huge 5 for my family. I hope it is for yours as well!

After a fun filled day at the zoo with my daughter, Kirklyn we decided we wanted to stop and get some lunch. My aunt Gen and her daughter Rhyan were with us and we chose to eat seafood. We found the Crispy Catch on Unilocal and thought we might enjoy it. We were not disappointed in the least. For a mother of a special needs child the staff was very accommodating with the food i had for her. They allowed me to have her food heated in their office microwave by one of their staff members. It was refreshing to see when I have been to multiple places where they do not allow that. As for the food I ordered it was delicious. I ordered the La Tacos with shrimp. The plate comes with hush puppies and a special sauce. The tacos themselves were dressed with lettuce, sauce, onions and carrots. Normally I would not like all of that on my taco, however it was perfect that way. My aunt, Gen, had the Crispy Fish. It was a pretty plate that also came with hush puppies and fries. Her daughter, Rhyan, had the Crispy Shrimp. It comes with fries and hush puppies as well. Gen ordered some boudin balls and they were the perfect spiciness, especially for someone who isn’t used to spicy food. If you are ever looking for good seafood and a great place to hang out, whether it be inside or outside, Crispy Catch is the place to go! We will definitely come back for some more great shrimp and catfish!!!

I had the fish and the shrimp tacos. I found them to be delicious and flavorful. The restaurant itself is very clean and well maintained. The only negative marks I can give this place is the parking is tight, which is hardly the restaurant’s fault. I will be coming back to try their other menu items.

This place is clean, neat and in a nice location. The staff are super friendly and attentive. My issue would have to be with the fish strips being so thin. It has flavor but just seems like you’re not getting your money’s worth here! I like the idea of this place but the menu definitely needs some tweaking…

After months and months of hearing nothing but good things, I finally made it a point to try this place out. I’m so happy I did! This, like previous people have said, is really like the fish version of Cane’s…yet, better. If that’s even possible. To say it’s only fish and shrimp they sell they seem to have a good bit of different options to choose(catfish, shrimp, corn bobbers, boudin balls, coleslaw, fries, and fish or shrimp tacos). I got the #1 which included a huge portion of catfish, fries, coleslaw, and three corn bobbers. To be able to try the shrimp as well I ordered some on the size. It was like $ 2 something for 4. Everything was delicious and yes, the fish was crispy and crunchy just the way I was hoping it would be! What really impressed me the most was first, the customer service. Everyone was friendly and greeted me with a smile. The second thing was that I was told upfront there would be a 7 minute wait bc they fry it fresh. Love the communication. How many times do you go order food and then you realized you’ve been waiting much longer than you anticipated and no one tells you why? Sure enough, after the small wait I got hot and fresh food. So hot I could barely eat it. I would gladly wait every single time to ensure my food is hot and fresh. The only bad part about my visit is that today there was a special of 4 boudin balls for $ 1 when you purchase a combo. The young lady at the counter did ask me if I wanted them, and I told her yes but wasn’t charged for them and they weren’t in the box. Not sure of what the miscommunication was but maybe I just didn’t speak loud enough. Sure enough I didn’t realize it until after I took my box, hopped in my car, and drove away. So sad bc I was really looking forward to trying them. Overall my experience was a great one and I do plan to come back, hopefully with me dining in for the next visit(this visit was take out).

OK, so I never want to order a plate of anything; I just want a la carte. So I finally just asked«can I just order one of those, and 3 of those, 2 of these, etc.» and they let me do it and I was SOHAPPY! The catfish is so crispy! I mean, I like bigger catfish also but this was the bomb! Got exactly what I wanted and actually probably over ordered. Everything was so good! Staff is friendly. Only downside is figuring out parking. We got lucky but I know how that part of town can be. Oh, and after avoiding the french fries which I usually don’t like at restaurants, I kept stealing them from my companions…

1. What an improvement from the worst dry cleaner ever opened in these United States. Thank you for getting them out of my neighborhood! 2. The staff were very nice and engaging. I was hung over, and I was not annoyed once… Which of you knew how easy I can be irritated when hung over says a lot. 3. The food? All I can say is, I almost licked the wax paper it was delicious! I mean, I could have chosen a more healthy option, but sometimes you gotta go big or go home… I did both. 4. Sorry I waited so long to visit.

The bad first — for dining in, parking is difficult and a small lot, and I believe the price for what you get is expensive — however I still give Crispy Catch 4 stars because what it serves – fried fish and fried shrimp – is freshly cooked and with great taste and I went away full(in part due to the heavy dose of fries). Crispy Catch has a limited menu – aimed at either a fish or shrimp basket and which size do you select. The larger fish basket comes with 6 thin strips of fish, a small side of Coke slaw, 2 hush puppies and fries. Along with the order is a dipping sauce — I think there a different types of dipping sauces available but I was not advised of options. The dining area inside is comfortable with a few tvs — also there is an outdoor area for seating with a larger tv. Overall, I recommend crispy catch although I will say its parking situation is a deterrent for me

This place doesn’t have a big menu but it doesn’t need to. It does what it does well, which is fried fish strips. Their cilantro lime sauce is to die for. The food came out piping hot and the shoe string fries are a delight. Customer service is great as well.

I have visited this place before as part of a group not long after the opening. In my second visit I found the food was exactly the same as I remember it. I ordered the #1 which was 5 strips of fish, shoestring fries, corn nuggets, cole slaw and a house sauce for $ 9 and some change. Although the food was excellent, the fish crispy, the fries hot, ect, I feel that they are a bit high for comparable fish plates in town. I would like to back my opinion of price with experiences at other local fish shops, Montalbanos and Louisiana Cajun Seafood, where you get more fish for your dollar along with all the tasty sides. If you are looking for good flavor and crispy fish and fries this is your place. If you are looking to get the most bang for your buck, sadly this place falls short.

Big big fan of this place! Of course I love fried catfish anyway unless it’s too greasy. This is not too greasy and it’s not too dry. It’s just perfect! The seasoning is delicious and the sauces are awesome! They have lots of other yummy items on the menu as well, like the corn bobbers! It’s a cute family run place and it’s very clean! Also they have a great patio for sitting outside on beautiful days! And of course it’s in such an adorable part of town! Also, Here’s a tip: be sure not to miss taco Tuesdays when they add an extra taco to your menu so you end up getting four instead of three! It’s a great place not to be missed

I wanted a quick protein snack and chose to go with 2 strips and the Cilantro Lime sauce. I usually have the tacos and they are good. But the strips without all the dressing up the tacos provide are just so so. The Cilantro Lime sauce tasted OK, but that bit of creaminess was missing today. I still like the tacos and will go back for the tacos.

Crispy Catch packs a crunch! I have had their delicious fish strips on numerous occasions and have had pretty much everything on their menu. The short, simple menu makes for easy decision-making at the order counter. Taco Tuesday is great because, you get an additional fish taco added to the line-up, which = 4 tacos(instead of 3). This is a fast and casual dining restaurant; grab n’ go or eat-in n’ run. Their fish is catfish. See, I am not a fan of catfish; never have been and promised myself I never would be. Broken promises happen though. Crispy Catch has completely turned that around for me. They have truly masked the flavor of the catfish and I applaud them for that! The crunch, the seasoning and those sauces; this is my go-to place, when I am craving fried fish! It won’t break the bank and you will get high-quality fried catfish strips or fried catfish tacos, corn bobbers(hushpuppies), skinny fries and excellent customer service. This is a family-run business and you will get service with a smile and even feel like family by the time you are ready to leave. Feel free to call-in your order; there are parking spaces for take-out orders. If you want to eat, there are parking spaces around the restaurant and in the back area directly under the overpass. I love what the Perkins overpass has turned into. It’s bustling with delicious restaurants and creative eats! Keep on goin’ Baton Rouge!

I am so happy to update my review to 5 stars. I returned to find the fish recipe updated and really nice, flavorful, fresh and CRISPY ! I was really impressed by the management and how they really seemed to respond to criticism and reviews posted. When I brought up my dream for the place to be a drive thru so I could pick up dinner for my family without getting out of the car after work, they seemed happy to listen and told me to stay tuned. I’ve got my eye on this place and will be back again and again !

Extraordinary service for a fast food joint! The staff greets you helps you make a choice and even recommends their special blueberry lemonade. Once the order is placed no need to stand around, grab a seat the staff comes to you with your order and will even grab other things you may need. My personal favorite menu option are the fish tacos. The cilantro sauce is the perfect addition to the crispy seasoned fish. The relaxed atmosphere makes it perfect for a casual family outing. My son loves the reel sauce and boudon balls. Very authentic louisiana food without being too spicy.

I’m gonna go ahead and leave this review while it’s still crispy in my head. Good stuff. I got the #1 combo that came with fish, fries, slaw and hushpuppies. The fish was indeed crispy. The pieces were very thin(likely to preserve the crisp) but they gave ample portions so I wasn’t looking for more after I finished. The slaw was tasty and the hushpuppies didn’t leave me melan-collie. Lot’s and lots of thin fries. I found that they were a little over cooked. Maybe to maintain the crispy theme, but I prefer mine a little less browned. I checked out some other plates and all the fries looked to be the same shade, so either it’s their thing… or fry-o-later guy was slippin. Either way, I enjoyed my meal and will try the tacos the next time I go. Oh, the staff was very friendly and the environment was clean. +1

Awesome! Fresh delicious fish, boudin balls, corn nuggets and fries. They kept the menu clean and simple. The desserts are unique and delicious. Try the chocolate graham cracker! Plenty of seating indoors and out. Great for big groups too. Yum!
