Staff was nice, but the sheets had a few stains on them. They could use a BIG upgrade!

This is a very nasty hotel. Period, point blank. The outside looks clean, but clearly that doesn’t extend to the inside. Smells everywhere from the hallway to the rooms. Stains everywhere and I mean everywhere. They definitely need a new cleaning staff.

Never been to Baton Rouge and my boyfriend and I are just passing through on our way from Miami to Vegas. All the hotels are asking way more then they are worth so I walked in to Microtel and the front desk guy quoted me with tax included. I figured it’s by Wyndham so how bad could it be? I also asked if the rooms looked like the flyer and he said, «They look better.» So with that I said, let’s do it! I paid $ 67 with tax and I should have gone with Motel 6 for $ 49. I posted pics of the chair you would catch something from if you sat on it. The smell is old and moldy. The AC looks like a rusted busted heep that needs to be put out of its misery quick. We went back to the car to get our own fan and turned off the air. The fridge is old and doesn’t even pretend to be cold. The cabinet doesn’t have handles so you need a major finger grip to be able to open in. Turning on the shower sounds like the wall is exploding! I went back to the front desk and was offered a room change to 321 which was a smoking floor. I asked to see it first and went up to the 3rd floor. As soon as the elevator opens the cigarette smell almost knocks you down! Room 321 was far worse then 122!!! The bed half made, the smell far worse, the fridge barley cold, the mold that lined the tub was very inviting! I went back to the front desk and told him all about. He offered to refund me if I wanted to stay somewhere else and as it’s 1am and I’m not hoping for worse, I said I would try to stick it out. He offer for me to speak with the GM and let him know my experience. Back in the room I go to take a shower and find the spider I posted the pic of! So that’s it! I’m headed to the front desk for a refund now and we will take our chances elsewhere! Also found a hair clip by the bed on the way out that wasn’t mine. Don’t even waste your time here! I tried two rooms and both are not acceptable!!!

The is nothing good about this hotel. The halls stink, the rooms stink, the bed is uncomfortable, it has dead roaches in the hall, the cleaning staff is lazy, took our towels and did nothing else… They didn’t even replace them! There is a survey from the last attendant sitting on the night stand so i think the room was never cleaned. Even worse! The night attendant is never there. He’s in and out with his boyfriend all night leaving a note saying sorry for the inconvenience that they are not there. I was just stuck out my room for 30 minutes because my card wasn’t working and he wasn’t there. He then programmed my card to go into a room without asking for proof. I could have named any room! The only positive is the free wifi @ 15gb. Avoid this hotel at all costs!

Not a bad hotel, good location. Updated with all new looking things. Standard queen room has micro fridge but no microwave. Unlike most hotels this one has lots-o-light, I am counting 2 bright lights in the ceiling and one reading light above the bed. It does remind me of an old hotel with new things. It has the stuffy thick«old hotel» smell. My queen standard room is very cozy(nice word for small) my queen sheets won’t fit this bed, but my sons double sheets would. The swimming pool is about the size of my great aunt Debbie’s Jacuzzi tub, but it is not a bad place to lay out and have a nice LA brewed beer. Front desk speaks English, but one of the two I talked to had a bird size brain. I am going to be staying in Baton Rouge until Aug 1st, so I asked what the weekly rate was… Umm it’s $ 88 a night.” I explained to him that I could book his hotel with the same room for $ 59 on ho****.com. I promise his reaction was epic and unexpected. «ummm, well my manager said we have to compete with the La Q next door and that’s what they are charging». So tomorrow I am moving into the Townes Place Suites… I previewed it and it looks really nice, look for that review within the next couple days.

The staff was very nice and even the outside looked nice. The hotel seemed safe, even with our car full of stuff. Although we had to make do with a smoking room, the smell was not over-powering. The standard rooms are very small, but just fine for a one night stay after a long drive. The room was nice, but the bathroom did need some repairs. Although there is no mention of it anywhere, they do provide free wi-fi, just make sure to ask for a password. Overall, this was a decent experience, especially after a 12 hour drive.

Awful and dirty. The hotel clerk made me wait to check in while he finished his cigarette outside. The room was filthy. I honestly question whether the room had been vacuumed since the last guest. The furniture was stained and gross. I do not recommend.
