Wow! Being from NYC, I was not sure what to expect. This place was great. Nice selection of different types of salads. Then i made my way over to the sushi/sashimi. Lots of food for main course. They had my favorite, the korean ribs. Thw waitress brought our beverages right away, too. I will definitely be back.

Had the most wonderful lunch here today! We arrived about 2:00 and the buffet was loaded with wonderful dishes! They offer so much on their buffet it is hard to know where to start sometimes… but I always break down and start by making a plate of stir fry. It is my favorite part of the buffet, actually. I made my first plate with cabbage, bean sprouts, corn, mushrooms, chicken and beef. While it was cooking I sampled from the already prepared side of the buffet. The tempura eggplant with shrimp was probably one of my favorite items of the day. It was not soggy and and had a beautiful taste. I also love their Crab Rangoon and coconut shrimp. I did not actually eat much of the prepared side as I knew I wanted the stir fry. I was not disappointed either! Although my plate came back to me and had a large amount of spice in it I ate it anyway — it was that good! I just had to put the flames out after each bite! My friend said hers was a bit on the spicy side, too, but again it was very good. My second plate I stressed to him to please do not use spice and this time it was perfect. I could eat without crying and i was able to enjoy every bite. My budding foodie daughter loved the stir fry and she tried sushi for the first time. She learned she really like crunchy rolls and rock and rolls and so her nanny and cousins will be taking her out for more sushi while we are here! Now I will say they did jump the gun bring us our check and their customary warm moist towels too soon, but they did not rush us when we paid and said we were not done yet. we had a very nice leisurely lunch and got to catch up over great food and really excellent service. I am pretty sure this is on our list to do again very soon!

Food is great. Atmosphere is great. Staff is very attentive. Food has a great variety of flavor. You can actually tell what you are eating because it is all labelled. Food is also at the just right temperature. Atmosphere is one of relaxed, no rush, we serve you, and family friendly. Could not ask for a better place to eat buffet. The staff is very alert about your needs. They check on you at the right times. They don’t only ask if you are OK but offer things to help improve your meal. Your drink is never empty and your belly won’t be for long. Overall costs for the food is excellent. You don’t pay for an expensive name here but get the quality of a five star. So that’s why I gave them the rating.

I love this place every time I go here. I wonder if the lady with the gold teeth still works there, I didn’t see her last time I went, she’s cool. The selection of cooked food, hand rolled sushi and stir fry is awesome. I never get tired of this place because there are so many choices offered when it comes to food.

Nagoya is undoubtedly the best sushi buffet in Baton Rouge. They have a wide variety of rolls, nigiri, and even a good selection of sashimi. There are also a good selection of cooked dishes, and salad items. The dessert bar is also extensive. In addition, they have a cook to order area, where you can create your own dish and have it prepared for you. It is easily accessed from I-12, just south of the Sherwood Forest Exit, so it’s a good choice if you are passing through. The service here is always attentive, and the pricing is good. Don’t forget to save a little room for green tea ice cream!

I tried this place based on Unilocal reviews. WTH. Are you people thinking ?? For $ 20. It was lousy. I mean everyone loves Crab legs, I ate ½ a leg and about spit it out. They have been re heated too many times. I tried several different fried foods Frog legs, shrimp. All were old. I then tried the sushi, it was dry As its been sitting out for several hours. I will say the waitress was good. And my sweet tea was good. That’s all…

I’ll be honest. Nagoya is not my favorite buffet around. It is very seafood and sushi heavy, which isn’t my thing, and there just aren’t a lot of options available that just blow me away. But. my fiancé loves it, especially the sushi and the teriyaki squid. So, we went Saturday night for his(very belated) birthday dinner. It was 8pm and I noticed that they weren’t very busy, we should have taken it as a sign, but Sherwood isn’t a big weekend business area, so we ignored it. We go in, get seated immediately, order drinks, and head to the buffet. The first thing I notice is the fishy smell. I know, fish, crab legs, sushi, it’s going to smell fishy, so I tamper down my gag reflex and go look to see what’s on the bar tonight. Not much. A lot of the plates are empty. Most importantly, there’s no teriyaki squid. That is 90% of the reason we are here. I ask, I was told they no longer have it, or they’re not serving it tonight. I’m not sure. There was a bit of a language barrier. Fiancé said that the sushi was dry, and none of the food seemed very fresh. We managed to eat enough to no longer be hungry. They weren’t refilling the buffet anymore, which was super-crappy since they’re open until 9:30 and it was only 8. The desert bar is pretty standard and mediocre, but they have some pretty awesome walnut fudge, but of course there were like 3 pieces out and they weren’t refilling. Their«16 flavors of ice cream» was only about 8 that night. Overall, depending on the squid situation, we probably won’t be going back. We can get better Asian buffet at Tepanyaki or Central buffet without the $ 16 per person price tag.

The first Japanese spot I ate at before officially moving out here to Baton Rouge. I’m pretty sure the staff knows us by face, we are always going back. The sushi is amazing and food is always fresh! Love the staff and cleanliness of the place. Recommend spot to go too!

Omg! This place is so great! I had heard some things about it and last night was my first time trying it… Here’s my experience here: When I pulled up it wasn’t a lot of cars and I thought oh boy no one is here maybe I should check out the food before paying to eat. So I go inside me, my mom, and my daughter are here. The buffet is $ 16.99, for the lunch buffet for kids it’s .99 times their age and for dinner it’s $ 1.20 times their age. So it was only $ 4 for my baby to eat. We were greeted immediately, even by the manager. The workers were very friendly and prompt. They refilled drinks as we asked, and assisted us when we needed them too. The buffet itself was so great! They have men in the hibachi section that you can watch cook, fresh sushi, frog legs, boiled shrimp and crab legs, flounder, raw oysters, crab salad(many different kinds of salad), fruit, desserts, Ice cream & toppings! They also have a full bar. The food was great. Just thinking back I am getting hungry all over again and I just finished eating lol! Also(and this is GREAT) after eating we asked for some moist towelettes. Well they didn’t bring out the kind you pop open out the paper. They brought steamed smoking HOT towels like you would get at a spa or when getting a manicure or pedicure at a nail salon. And they were clean and fresh, they smelled amazing! The restrooms were very clean, floors were clean and shiny! I highly recommended this restaurant. Come ready to chow down!

I would give 10 stars if Unilocal allows me to give more. This is the best buffet I have ever had. Their hot boiled shrimps are amazing. A lot of seafood selections and desserts as well. I really loved their Plum Wine ice-cream. Good service and the restaurant is clean! I will definitely stop by again if I happen to go on another road trip on this route! :)

We were in Baton Rouge for some business and decided to stop by here since the reviews were pretty good and we were able to hit the happy hour. For $ 8.99, all the rolls and sushi alone is completely worth it. I understand that it is their way of getting rid of lunch left overs but it is not too bad considering every station was full of things except for the ice cream. Yes, you do not have crab legs during happy hour. * Service = good * Food = worth the price * Ambiance = a little run down but what matters is the food at a buffet * Location = pretty convenient, close to the hwy Would I come back? YES, totally worth it.

Over priced low quality food.($ 17 a plate). Barely ate anything. All of the sushi was old rest of the food was completely cold. Waited 10 min before my table got our drinks. We ate a piece of sushi that was particularly bad and just ruined the rest of the meal so we left. As if that wasn’t enough the waitress that can’t speak a lick of English continuously refuses my coupon printed off their official website. I get a manager and she says they don’t have a website. Grab the business card off the front desk with their website printed on it… Go to the website and show her the coupon on it and she still refuses. Save your money and your time. Will definitely never be returning.

For a sushi buffet this one is great. Of course not the very best sushi but definitely fresh and tasty for the money. They also have a good selection of hot foods, and some great salads, kimchi, and a mongolian grill. They also. have a full bar and between 2−4pm there is a buffet happy hour which is only $ 8.99 I believe. The service is nothing spectacular but it is a buffet. Overall probably one of the top buffets in Baton Rouge.

This is the best buffet I have ever been to in my life. I have been surrounded by mediocre buffets throughout my short life, so my bar might be set kind of low. Maybe I do not know what a great buffet is? Anyways, I love Nagoya! They have so many FRESH seafood selections. However, my favorite item was the steamed pork buns!!! I have never ever seen those before in an Asian buffet before! I was so ecstatic when I saw pictures of those buns on Unilocal!I had to have one! They were so so so good. They also had quite an impressive nigiri selection and a practically endless sushi assortment. I also loved that the crawfish, though not seasoned like it should be, was fresh like it says it was! The oysters on shells were so fresh as well. I could not stop eating! I can’t wait to come back again.

I really use to love eating at this place when it first opened and within that first year or two of its opening I would have easily given it 4 stars. But as of late the service and food has gone down in quality quite a bit. For the price that they charge you for dinner buffet you are better off going somewhere with fresher food and more selection. To be honest the sushi isnt bad but the price is still outrageous for the quality. Not recommended… anymore. :(

I must admit that buffets are my guilty pleasure and sometimes there are stigmas associated in eating at a buffet. I believe that for every 9 bad buffets, there is one that is good. I feel that Nagoya is one of the better buffets in the Baton Rouge area. This goes for variety of a selection, freshness, food actually tasting good, and service. My family and I usually go there on a Sunday where they have all of their items available with seafood included all day. Sushi is prepared decently here and the hibachi grill is great as well. My favorite item on the buffet at Nagoya is the baked salmon that is served in small appetizer versions. Of course it’s all not amazing food. There are some hit or miss items, but I’m also not expecting 5 star freshness/quality. My family and I have eaten at several sushi buffets in the BR area, and all agree that Nagoya is one of the better choices.

When you walk in the door, a very fishy smell greets you, but do not be deterred! We only go on Saturday from 2 – 4 because that’s when they have the buffet for about $ 9, otherwise it’s too pricey for buffet style food. I usually only get sushi and can only speak to that part of the cuisine. It’s always fresh and for a buffet, that’s saying a lot. They have chefs making the sushi fresh every time I am there. I always enjoy their ice cream after lunch, even though I find it a little bizarre to have a small ice cream scooping area in an Asian food restaurant. The service is never that good, I assume it’s due to the buffet style setting. Still, one usually needs a drink refill! I always enjoy that they bring warm, moist washcloths with the bill. I’ll be back!
