The food is usually always hot and fast. Service is typically always friendly. This is the only Popeye’s I feel welcome at in Baton Rouge. The other locations can bite me.

Love dat chicken from Popeye’s! No really. I do. It’s not just a slogan, it’s a way of life. The red beans are awesome, but if you tell them«no rice» in order to get more beans… no dice. They’ll put the same amount of beans and leave space for the imaginary rice. I’m not a biscuit guy, but I luv slopping up some red beans with Popeye’s biscuits. It’s also good to take a big piece of skin and use it as a red beans spoon.(not good for your heart, or cholesterol… or thighs, but good none the less) I’m not a fan of the dirty rice and I’ve never had the shrimp, but the spicy dark meat is the best there is. The service at this location has been speedy in my experience. It’s the only location nearby and it’s on a busy road, so I’m sure they’ve learned to adapt. The chicken was hot and delish this time, but my last visit I was stuck with a couple cold pieces. It’s better to go during busy times(pls read Dan’s Buffet Guideline’s to Hot and Happy Eating). The food quality has been comparable to most of the Popeye’s I’ve been to. It’s good to see that they care about creating a good product and not delineating from the recipe from store to store.

Good stuff! flavor, spicy and not greasy ! Not a place for a weight watcher! But once in awhile, this is the place to go off the deep end. Mash potatoes with gravy. a keeper.
