Our party of eight had an amazing time here. Alex, our server, was top notch. He really added to the overall experience. The general manager was also very accommodating and went out of her way to make sure we had an enjoyable experience. Our group arrived thirty minutes before our scheduled time. They let us in early while they were still setting up, as we had all been traveling for a few hours. They were very gracious from the start. The overall meal experience was very fun. We had a cheese course, salad, entrée, and dessert. Alex, did an amazing job of explaining how the process worked and menu options. His knowledge of the menu and suggestions were very helpful. The food was very good, it was definitely a culinary experience. And the wine list was great. It took us about four hours from start to finish and we never went hungry or had any sort of a wait. We were already planning our next trip at the end of the meal. I cannot recommend this place enough for special events. The price was definitely worth the meal/service we received.

A nice early Mothers Day dinner here and had the dessert fondue the first time. It was presented very well with all kinds of dippers to dredge in chocolate with candied pecans. Be warned: it is extremely rich and I would compare the sugar rush to eating six hot Krispy Kreme glazed in one sitting. The alpine cheese is the standout in the area of cheese fondue and the wedge and Cali salads are very good. Funny but although I like the entrée portion with meat and seafood, I could do cheese, salad and dessert only and be fine. Duck, filet, shrimp and added lobster tail were all cooked in red wine broth and tasty. Service was good and they allow some time for you to relax and enjoy instead of trying to rush you out to fill the table again. Kudos and return trip soon.

Interesting experience I’ve always wanted to try this place back in California but never got around to it, so here I’m here in Baton Rouge and i thought I would try it glad I did but I must say best part was cheese dip and dessert I was not to impressed with meat course but everything else was great and the service was great as well.

One of our favorite chain restaurants for food and service. Whenever my husband and I can get the chance to drive an hr here to spend a 2 – 3 hour date, we try our best to make it here! I’ve had nothing but great memories with my husband here and we’ve never been sad about our food or service. We’ve come for anniversaries and birthdays and they’ve made it a point to make us feel special. We’ve had just about everything on the menu and area always full from everything! We make sure no matter how full we are to get desserts. It’s seriously the best part. I highly, highly recommend coming here for a date night to get to know someone or to have more husband and wife time.

So last Wednesday, March 9th, 2016, a group of friends and I went to The Melting Pot. We got there early and went to the bar for a few drinks. There was only 1 bartender working and he was very backed up. Being that majority of us were/are bartenders, we were okay with waiting patiently for our drinks. The bartender was in a horrible mood and had the absolute worst attitude. He was also training someone and talked to the trainee like he was stupid. After we had been sitting there for a while, the bartender spilled an entire glass of white wine on my friend’s lap. He did not apologize and only offered her a towel after he cleaned the bar. She was totally understanding and didn’t say anything. She thought about it for a little while longer and decided to tell the manager. The manager on duty said he would take care of her. He did absolutely nothing. As we are about to go sit down, we watch the bartender shake a martini in a shaker with a glass on top. As he is trying to remove the glass, he broke the glass. He then shrugged his shoulders and still poured the drink into the martini glass and served it. This whole part of the night at the bar was completely unacceptable. I made a comment on The Melting Pot’s website. I just received an email from the assistant manager and I am appalled. I took a screenshot of the email I received. The basis of the email is her telling me I was wrong about everything. I work in customer service and have a degree in business, this is not how you conduct business and definitely NOT how you respond to a customer complaint! I will be contacting the corporate office today and reviewing this restaurant on everything outlet I can.

Came here on a Groupon. Had a great experience. The server was attentive. Food was fresh and a great positive atmosphere. Loved the little secluded two seater sections I the back. Very intimate and exciting.

Service: Our server was Brian, though the manager and someone from the front of the house checked up on us occasionally. Overall, service was splendid. Brian took his time to explain exactly how things worked, what the experience would be like, and offered commentary as to what he was adding to our pot throughout our meal. He was very knowledgeable, friendly, and pleasant. We never had empty glasses and the pacing of the meal was perfect. Expect to spend a few hours here, longer than a typical meal out. We didn’t wait too long between meals either, a few minutes each time. Food: We had the cheddar cheese course, the«Fondue Delight» entrée, house salad with honey mustard, and the flaming turtle chocolate for dessert. The cheddar cheese fondue and accompaniments(bread, broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, and apple pieces) was underwhelming. The bread was soft instead of toasted and the apple slices were a little unusual, but we ate it alone as a palate cleanser. The beer component of the fondue provided a bitterness that was unpleasant. Next time, we will try a different cheese fondue. We opted for the Mojo broth when cooking our entrees since many reviews suggested the complimentary broth was plain. We received raw proteins(shrimp, chicken, beef, lobster, and pork stuffed ravioli) and veggies(potatoes, broccoli, mushrooms) that required cooking in the broth. Please note the entrée does NOT come cooked and is NOT dipped into cheese fondue. The proteins need to be boiled so if you plan to enjoy a 3– or 4-course meal here, spend a little more for more flavorful broth. I was pleasantly surprised at the flavor. It was very tasty. We were given 6 different dipping sauces: teriyaki, Béarnaise, sweet/sour, sour cream, cocktail, and something with Gorgonzola. We enjoyed all of them. The flaming turtle chocolate fondue included table-side flambé that was quite fun to watch. There were candied pecans and caramel mixed in with the chocolate. The addition of pecans was impractical since dipped pieces of brownie or fruit resulted in only chocolate coatings. My partner hates pineapple so we were able to sub it for apples. The rice krispy pieces were a little too sweet to dip in chocolate that was already sweet with caramel. But nitpicking aside, it was all very delicious. Overall: We very much enjoyed our visit and look forward to coming back to try other flavors. We hope they expand the cheese fondue options. Our table had one hot plate/pot, so a table of 4 may be difficult to accommodate in a timely manner.

What a great experience. Our first time here. Food was amazing from start to finish. And the ying/yang martini is to die for. Definitely do the 4 course to enjoy the whole experience. Jack our waiter was the best.

My wife and I had a 6:00 reservation for tonight we got there around 5:45. The hostess let 4 other couples who got there way after us with the same 6:00 reservation go before we ended up walking out. I’ve never eaten there before and I will never go back. I’m pretty sure it was a homophobic thing but I can’t say for sure. Horrible experience and I never made it in the restaurant!

Went here for our 6th anniversary. The hostess told us happy anniversary with a smile and we were brought to a wonderfully private table. From that point, every single one of the 4 or 5 staff members that serviced our table told us happy anniversary. We felt VERY taken care of. Alex E. is one of the best servers we’ve ever had the fortune to be served by. Obviously knowledgable and passionate about food, and made sure to ask us if we needed anything before he left the table each time. I HIGHLY recommend asking for him when you go. The manager on duty came by and was also wonderful. Food was fantastic. We had the vegetarian entrée with tempura batter and it was phenomenal. The whole experience took around 2.5−3 hours total which was what we wanted. I will absolutely go here again. Good food is important, but great service is what makes me want to part with my hard-earned money, and Melting Pot Baton Rouge, you’ve sure as heck earned my money. Can’t wait to go back.

Seriously what a let down. My girl and I have been wanting to go here for so long, and finally went. They have a groupon that’s $ 32 for two people with two entrees, two salads, and something else not really memorable… like the whole meal. First, they put me in a booth I literally had to squeeze to get in to. I was honestly a little embarrassed as I had to suck in to get inside the booth. I guess it’s a little more intimate, but I feel if they gave an extra inch of two you would have the same result. The service was some of the slowest I have ever had. I’ll get to that eventually. The waiter was very informative and helpful with it being first time eating there. Other than that, he dropped the ball. I legitimately thought everything was cooked in cheese. Looking back on it yes it was pretty foolish, but when I realized we didn’t get any cheese with the meal I definitely had to order some to start with. Honestly, the cheese was amazing, and had us thinking about buying more of the grouopons as we were sold at that point. However, I had ordered a flight of wine that is supposed to be a different wine for every course, and I hadn’t received it at that point. So I was a little let down. After the cheese we had the ruby red salad. That also was really amazing. Yet, still no wine. At this point I was starting to realize I wasn’t getting my wine. We got our main course, but it took almost twenty minutes between when we were done with the salad and getting the main course. I was starting to think I wasn’t going to get any more food. I mean it’s raw meat. They literally throw it on a plate and bring it to you. WTF. We finally got our food, and ehhhh was where the let down really started to begin. The duck was okay, the terriyaki beef was okay, but the shrimp sucked and was bland as all get out. The salmon was horrible as well. We got the cuo co vin if I remember correctly. Nothing special. The main course was just bland, and left us wanting. However, it did surprisingly fill me took about 20 minutes to have our plates cleared, and I thought for sure it was because they were preparing something for my birthday. Nope. They came and sang me happy birthday, and that was it… I didn’t even get a cupcake or anything. What kind of crap is that. Usually, if they sing you get a dessert. That’s the way it works. No surprise. Just another let down. Took another 20 minutes to get my check and another 15 to get my card back. Seriously ridiculous. The long wait I think is really what just ruined it for us. In total I think the dinner took 2 ½ to 3 hours. Completely ruining the last evening we had to spend together before I had to leave for three months. Thanks for the horrible evening Melting Pot. Oh yeah, and I never did get my wine!

I’m not a chain restaurant person. In fact I’ll sooner order a peanut butter sandwich than hit up a knock off –knock down. But this place surpassed all expectations and then some. I highly recommend for a fun experience and tasty meal. Knowledgeable service, decent beer and wine list and truly delicious food.

My husband and I always come here for special occasions, mainly our anniversary. Had first date here as well 8 years ago! Such a romantic, relaxed atmosphere. For our first anniversary, they had a card waiting on our table signed by the staff, such a nice touch to a great night. I still have the card and its been 4 years The food is amazing and always leave satisfied. We went last night and had great time! We weren’t happy with the salad course, but not a big deal, we now know we don’t like blue cheese. The spinach artichoke cheese dip was great and then we had the land and sea entrée with cou au vin cooking style. The filet mignon with the teriyaki dipping sauce was my favorite and the chicken with the curry sauce was my husband’s. For dessert we had the chocolate almond delight I think I was called. Milk chocolate, coconut, and candied almonds. It was to die for! I absolutely loved it!

4⁄5 stars for a great dining experience. The potato cheese was the best of the several we had. Salad presentation was a little lacking, But the entrée and desert more than made up for it. Our server, Morgan, was fantastic at balancing a fond showing of her personality with the professional display expected at this tier of dining. A few steps of service were missed, but would hardly be noticed by most people. Overall, our servers did a great job of describing the dishes and making sure we were having fun. Our family will be back… Hopefully with less kids next time. It’d be a nice date environment.

My boyfriend and I wanted to try this place out for our first times for restaurant week. Let’s get straight to the point. The only thing that goes beyond my expectations at The Melting Pot is the dessert. I’m rating the restaurant only three stars because I had terrible service. My server, who I will leave unnamed, was way too aggressive when he was stirring our fondues, and seemed so insincere. Also, our glasses of water were never refilled until we asked. As the server was aggressively stirring our bacon and brie fondue, the cooking wine was splashing and could’ve burned me or my boyfriend. I tried the french quarter, and that was pretty good! I loved the Cajun spices — it had a kick to it. When it came time for dessert, our server was noisily beating the chocolate instead of gently stirring it… It was rude and made us feel as if he really wanted us out. I’m apprehensive about coming back, and if I do, I will be sure to get a different server.

Well, I m French and I know fondue, the cheese fondue is not bad but the bourguignone fondue is horrible, with terrible quality for the meat and fish. I spent $ 70 but it deserves $ 10, not more. They are so proud and arrogant to serve a «fondue style», maybe it is classy in USA to say and do it but I dont care eating in a classy style, I want to eat good food. Will never go back to this place/
