This a great place to go to watch sports and play games. Pool, shuffleboard, darts and even a beer pong cave. The pool is a little expensive, so don’t get a table if you’re not gonna play… because you’ll definitely pay. The food is nothing special. I’ve never had anything to eat here that was exceptional or rememberable. The only reason to come here is to watch sports b/c there are many many tv’s. It’s a huge building and large groups are welcome. It’s a smoking venue, so be prepared.

Came in at 745pm and the order was taken at 8pm. Food didn’t arrive to the table till 925pm. Worse service ever. The manager didn’t seem concerned and told us that it was the waitress’s fault. NEVERCOMEINHERE. OFYOUREADTHISAFTERYOUSOTDOWN, GETUPANDLEAVENOW!

There’s almost always an empty table on the day of a big game. That should probably tell you something. I went a few times, thinking the problems might have just been a coincidence, but the last time, drinks took 30 minutes to come out and after waiting an hour for the food we just opted to settle the bill and go get food elsewhere. The manager never came over, and while the server seemed congenial, I tend to want something a little more than a smile when I go out to eat and drink. Like food and drink.

(Jess. I used my first ever«You’ve been Unilocaled» card today… You will see why). Cold, wet, hungry and desperate, we walked into this place dying for some actual fish and chips. We weren’t aware that this was a smoking establishment before we walked in. No one was smoking at the time but it had that nasty old stank smell. You ever had a relative(say old aunt or granny) who chained smoked in the house until the plastic she put over all the furniture was no longer see-through and that smell? Yeah… THAT smell. But we were desperate. We ordered Iced teas to start. It blew our minds when it came to the table without any ice. We didn’t think much of it since we were cold but still, that was odd. We both ordered the fish and chips and I ordered the beer and cheese soup. I love Newcastle Brown and I love beer cheese soup. But I have to say, this soup tasted more like beer than cheese. But it didn’t taste like Newky Brown. It had this really bitter aftertaste that even the warm tea couldn’t take away. Really, we tried. The manager(I think he was the manager) came by and asked how the soup was. I told him the truth and he didn’t seem surprised. He very nicely said he would take that off the bill(The manager and the waitress were both VERY nice.). A few minutes later, the fish and chips came out. They LOOKED great. The manager offered us some malt vinegar and we prepared to tuck in. Before I even got to take a bite, the waitress came by to see how it was. But I hadn’t had any yet so she said she would come back(Like I said, they were both really nice). The«chips» or fries were super-salty. So salty that it puckered our lips. I ate two and knew I couldn’t eat any more. My first bite of fish made me worried. It had a «fishy» flavor… I know fish tastes like fish, but it shouldn’t taste like OLD fish smell. These did. The Girly took a bite out of hers and spit it back out into her napkin. On my second bite, I had to open the fish batter up and see what was wrong. The fish on both our plates were dangerously under-cooked. It was still clear enough to read through. The batter was perfectly cooked but the fish was deadly under-cooked. The cook must not know what temp to put the frier on. If it had cooked any longer, the batter would have been burned. But at that point, we’d both had enough. The girly was MORE than ready to walk out and as I’ve mentioned before, she NEVER ever wants to make a scene. I went to the bar and asked for the bill. Neither of us had eaten more than 3 bites from our entire meal. Again, the manager stepped up to the plate. He said he’s take care of the bill. He also checked the food and admitted it should have never left the kitchen like that. We thanked him for his courtesy and walked out. He actually followed us out in the rain to try to give us a voucher for a free meal sometime. We declined. I really could not picture going back to a place that failed on every single aspect of the food. But I do think the business did itself a favor by hiring this guy. If everything about it hadn’t been a fail, he might have saved us as customers. So still cold, still wet, and still hungry, we went to our old Baton Rouge standby of Albasha. They saved the day with their spot-on food.

I love fox and hound! Do keep in mind that this is primarily a pub. Yes they serve food, don’t expect it to be that great until you’ve had a few. Honestly, I’d stay away from anything that isn’t an appetizer, especially the pizza. The wings are ok, but if I’m eating anything here I’ll usually get the unlimited chips and salsa to munch on over the course of a few hours while I drink anywhere from 2 – 10 pints. That being said, your best night to go is tuesday — $ 2 draft night, any pint is just $ 2. They have a huge selection of beer, and at that price you can try a good bit of it before you have to call it quits — and have money left for a ride home since you shouldn’t be driving if you drink as much as I do at this place. The waitress turnover rate seems really high, I rarely get the same server more than a couple times when I’m here. The bartenders seem to stay longer though. Some of the better waitresses will remember your name and drinking preferences, and bring you your favorite pint as soon as you sit down. Some of the worst won’t take your order for 20 minutes. When you get the latter, just move to the bar and you’ll be well taken care of. There’s always a big selection of tv’s to watch here, so even if you’re by yourself you can chill out and just relax with a cheap beer after work. Friends always make it better of course, and you can head over into the pool room and shoot some pool. Theres a few other games to be found around the pub too, such as darts, video golf, and I think some other stuff. I just stick to pool. This is by far my favorite pub to go to in baton rouge, even the bad experiences here end up good.

You’ll love this place if you’re looking for fine Applebee-esque cuisine. Watched UFC — 126(woot Silva) because it seems there are very few places that host it other than Hooters in BR. Here is the breakdown: -$ 5 cover on fight night :( — good bottled beer selection — comfortable seating with lots of TVs — food = lame It’s ok for watching a fight or game, but eat before you come.

Great drink specials, cigars, and bar food. There were plenty of televisions showing all the games, and the clientele was that«after work drinks» crowd that I miss from my 8 – 5 days. The homemade pretzels were perfect! If I were to come back I would stick to the appetizers(my entrée was just ok) and the daily drink specials, and plan that the service anywhere other than the bar will not be up to par. Sure, the waitresses are nice, but I’m not here to bullshit with them, I’m at their place of employment and I want them to be available should I have questions or need something. Our waitress started out great, our food was served somewhat timely, but she became less attentive as our time went on. It was then I noticed the waitresses looked bored, loitering in the front of the location, which further frustrated me that I had to interrupt their water cooler chat to ensure service. I’d like to keep the illusion you’re unavailable because you’re helping other patrons, not because you’re bitching with your colleagues. Hopefully they can find another place to hang out and chat that doesn’t involve standing in front of the restaurant away from your tables…

Two different nights, two drastically different experiences, though I feel torn in the number of stars, two… two and a half for the second night less for the first visit… it all averages out. Now, I should preface this review with two qualifiers. One. we’re not from around here. Two, we were staying at the Marriott and could see the bar from our room, so that influenced our choice of coming back. First night you would have thought that the three top that was the ONLYOTHERTABLE there was very taxing on our waitress as she took about 20 minutes to come take our order(just drinks and a cigar). Took longer to bring it out. Second night, very different experience with a very polite, prompt waitress who checked in on us at appropriate moments. Smoking indoors was different. The people watching at this place was amazing, from the guy in the bright red attire replete with top hat, to the guy with more product in his mohawk then I use in a year… Take it for what it is, a bar with what was a very diverse crowd, a seemingly nice pool area(no idea, didn’t venture in there), and you won’t be disappointed.

Cool place to hang out! Pool tables, food, beer, crowds and music. What more can you ask for on a night after work?
