Poor customer service, nasty pharmacy employees. Typical example of Walgreens big box lack of concern.

My wife and I have our prescriptions filled here and like Marcy S stated. We’ve had the EXACT same problem where we get to the window and the tech says«oh we’re waiting on a call back from the doctor» or «the insurance company said you have to wait 3 days before we can fill that» or some other BS answer. It’s not entirely their fault. Louisiana has among the highest health care costs in the country, no wonder mistakes are made all around. Aside from the troubles at the drive-thru window, most of the time our prescriptions are filled without issue when things are approved. I like to go into the store and look around to see what deals I can find. I’ve found that the staff here are always very nice, and willing to help and answer questions or find things for you or suggest things for you. They don’t make a lot I know my sister-in-law used to work for one in SoCal, yet they are caring people who do take care of certain parts of the store so if one doesn’t know, they’ll find someone who does. Kudos to Walgreens for that. It’s a classic pharmacy store, they make an active effort to carry a variety of goods that are largely consumable items. From cosmetics, fragrances, pain meds, weight loss and of course the usual isles of junk food and soda. One product that caught my eye was they have an inexpensive line of all natural treats for dogs and cats with no fillers that rivals the expensive stuff sold in the big box stores. I’ve also found that they carry quite an amazing array of electronics for the casual computer user, memory cards, Bluetooth headsets, headphone, ear pieces, etc and a great battery selection. Big deal? maybe not, but if you’re in a pinch and don’t want to try to find a Radio Shack or Best Buy and it’s after hours, it’s nice to know it’s there. I never look at their ads, I just go in and look around to see what’s there. I’m becoming that old guy that goes looking for deals. It’s just what I do. And I’ll go through every isle in the store just to look. I always find something, although I don’t always purchase. Each store has it’s own set of clearance stuff so you never know what you’ll find. Last point, getting in and out of this location is a big PITA. It’s on the corner of 2 major arteries in this area(Siegen and Perkins). The turn in off Perkins was designed by a guy that drove a Honda Fit. The entrance on Siegen should only be exited from if you have a death wish. So be careful, use the Perkins entrance if possible. Being that our prescriptions are filled here, I’ll be going back regardless of how their service or selection evolves or dwindles. Least to say it’s been pretty good so far.

Worst Walgreens in Baton Rouge. Had to have my doctor call them 3 times and they still couldn’t find my order! I went twice to pick it up before I received it and then had to wait over 15 minutes in the drive thru.

My review will be short and sweet. While visiting Baton Rouge… I found myself coming to this Walgreen’s often because of it’s location, as well as selection. This store was very clean, well stocked and their employees were beyond helpful and friendly. What else can you ask for in a retail store? Overall…I highly suggest you check them out.
